  1. This might be the perfect spot to use a Li battery, no outgassing, fast recharge, more usable capacity. The only negative is the cost. Bill
  2. Glad you found it. I have never seen the batteries under the bead. How maney? I have usually found water tanks under the bead. Bill
  3. First I would double check the batteries and do a load test. Next I would look up in the manuel for your inverter and find out what the beeping signifies. With the coach running and no outher power connected use a meter and see what the voltage is at the batteries. Bill
  4. What I have found is a gas absorption unit it is plugged into a standard 110 circuit. The outher is from the inverter to power the ice maker when no outher 110 power is available and running on propane. I used this outlet for power when I installed my residential refrigerator upgrade. Bill
  5. Welcome to the forum. Is it a Ford Chassis? Look Behind the drivers door in the house part is a drawer holding a very large D8 house battery, Maybe. The start battery is on the driverside. Sometimes they used the passenger side for a house/deep cycle Battery. Good luck and let us know. Bill
  6. The only thing I would caution is make shure all your equipment is for 10,000 pounds or greater and get a good auxiliary brake set up for the truck like the M&G braking system. https://m-gengineering.com/ Bill
  7. I think you will be fine. Is it the perfect setup? Probably not but you can change latter. Yes it is nice to have something to drive to go someplace without tearing down your whole campsite. Bill
  8. I put Koni FSD shocks on my 2003 XC Chassis last fall. They did seam to soften out some of the rough spots in the roads. I only got to put about 8800 miles on them last year but I was happy with how they helped the ride. I used Shock Warehouse https://www.shockwarehouse.com/index.cfm. Bill
  9. It is ok if you want to feel like macho man because you have been over a 10,000 foot pass. Just remember you didn't start at sea level and yes I have been over them to. Bill
  10. When I was doing it I didn't know I needed to keep a record. When you talk about bad hills to get over they are in the East. They were built before there was any guidelines for interstate roads even before any interstate roads. If you stay on the interstates you are pretty safe but if you get on some of the state and county roads you can have some big surprises. Bill
  11. This is true however I found if I slowed enough to get down to 4th it would hold speed pretty good on most hills. if it didn't and kept picking up speed I could slow to where it dropped into 3ed gear and then I bet I could go down a 35 degree slope without picking up speed. A388666, Still my advice is to drive with it on and get a feel for how it reacts to different situations. Bill
  12. I think it is more about learning to drive a big rig. It isn't like driving a sports car. I was slower in my 38ft Diesel pusher, many times it wouldn't hold the speed limit. My speed limit was 65 but the slowdown was 80% due to traffic and not the hill. I never found a hill I couldn't get over and I have been over nearly every major pass in the west. Well ok in the Lower 48. Ok I have to know what I have been missing. What do you think is so amazing about your hills. Bill
  13. Welcome to the forum. Which Tiffin model as some have different engins. I would drive with it on so you can get a feel for how much it breaks and how it feels before you are on THAT hill. Basically it starts to slow and downshift any time you reduce the throttle. It's goal is to slow you to 2ed gear. Plan on slowing at the top of any steep hill. I have seen places where trucks were required to start down the hill at 30 mph or less. A good saying is "never start down a hill faster than you came up it". Let me know if you have any questions. Bill
  14. Kodiak007, nice RV. Carl those are some fancy toy haulers. Bill
  15. Welcome to the forum. What are you towing? Bill
  16. JeffJohnson, Welcome to the forum. Bill
  17. Let us know what you find. I would change the regulator almost as a maintenance thing on a coach that old. They arn't that expensive. Bill
  18. So it is being powered by the inverter? Bill
  19. That is a good question. I never had one but I would bet you can if it is connected to a inverter circuit or you would need to run the generator to power it. Bill
  20. UrbanHermit, Back to the question "what kind of logbook?" I use Gas Buddy to track fuel. We use RVParky, Google Maps to track trips and places to stay. We have a notebook to keep receipts and notes about places we have stayed/visited. If you want to track all your expenses, look at this Youtube channel he has spreadsheets available. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCXejRdDVmJxYpguXcv-ZYsg Bill
  21. I am thinking the plastic is some kind of safety retainer for the bulbs. I would be inclined to look at swapping them out for leds. Bill
  22. Carl, do you realey want us to start grading your post? All the grammatical and spelling issues? Or do you want to talk about RV issues? Bill
  23. Waiting for OP to comeback with a response. Bill
  24. Welcome to the forum. Don't be a stranger. Bill
