  1. True that would be anouther source of information but Newmar hase to know as they do service at the factory. Bill
  2. I definitely think that Winnebago buying Newmar was a good thing for Newmar owners. Bill
  3. The first thing I would do is contact Newmar and find out what the correct brake fluid is. Then I would do a complete drain/flush/refill with the correct fluid. Bill
  4. Amazon has the Camco version for about $12.00 a pop. Or go to your local home improvement store. Bill
  5. Herman is right. This is why it would be a good idea to get a qualified inspector t look at it. It adds anouther level to catch potential problems. papabee49@hotmail.com There are some outher coaches on that website. You might keep an eye on. https://www.nirvc.com/Sales?start=0&fq=status%3AAvailable and PPL Motorhomes which is a consignment lot, well ok 3 lots. https://www.pplmotorhomes.com/ You can look at floor plans and what things are going for. Bill
  6. Here is something to look at. 2008 Mountain Aire. I bet this one has the 2007 driveline like my coach so no emissions, no exhaust filter or def. https://www.motorhomesoftexas.com/Pre-owned-Inventory-2008-Newmar-Motorhome-Mountain-Aire-4528-Mountain-Aire-8468470?ref=list I put the Foretravel above the Monaco line. 2007 Foretravel Nimbus 40' https://www.motorhomesoftexas.com/Pre-owned-Inventory-2007-Foretravel-Motorhome-Nimbus-40-Nimbus-9252076?ref=list 2007 Foretravel Phenix 45' https://www.motorhomesoftexas.com/Pre-owned-Inventory-2007-Foretravel-Motorhome-Phenix-45-Phenix-8753756?ref=list 2005 Foretravel U295 3820 https://www.motorhomesoftexas.com/Pre-owned-Inventory-2005-Foretravel-Motorhome-U295-3820-Foretravel-U295-9228449?ref=list Kind of wish this one had been on the market when I was looking. Bill
  7. That is why I recommend hiring a certified inspector to look over any new purchase. He reports to you and will give you his advise on the condition of the coach. Allso the better/higher quality coaches will hold up longer/better. What are you looking for and what is your budget? Bill
  8. Yes I see at least 20 driving days at 300 miles a day. 30 days if you do 200 a day. I don't have to drive over 300 miles a day now. So I recommend to the OP pierrem53 to take the Mass pike ( I-90) West to Oregon. Look at the map and see what you might like to see and plan the non travel days to see them. If you want to do the big loope take I-5 south to I-10 and go East. You didn't say what you were traveling in. I would make a serious effort to find anouther 30 days at least. This such a great opportunity it would be a shame to be rushed. By the way welcome to the forum. I was in Erie last year. My sister still lives there. Any questions just ask. Bill
  9. What exactly are you talking about/trying to say? Bill
  10. What is the voltage on your surge guard on each leg? I bet you have low voltage where you are plugged in. Bill
  11. Go drive some coaches. That is the best way to find out. Definitely try a Newmar with "comfort drive".
  12. So what is this amazing coach? If you had added it to your signature I wouldn't have to ask. Bill
  13. When it does that I would downshift to 5th or 4th gear. I also run Diesel Kleen in every tank. Bill
  14. I would find a exhaust/muffler shop and have them weld it up. Bill
  15. Ok, but I still think the best practise is just what I said. Instead of all the weird extension cords and multiple adapters just run some appropriate cable from the power supply (the old hot tub) to where you park your RV. Install this pedestal so you can plug your RV directly into it using the power cord from the RV. Yes get the one with a 50 amp plug so when you upgrade your RV you won't have to do it over. The only addition would be a appropriate power switch so you can turn power off when plugging in or unplugging. This reduces wear on the circuit breakers. Bill
  16. hphock, I have read through this mess twice now. STOP YOU CAN'T PLUG INTO THE OLD HOT TUBE POWER RECEPTACLE. All you have is a potential power source. Instead of all the weird extension cords and multiple adapters just run some appropriate cable from the power supply (the old hot tub) to where you park your RV. Install this pedestal so you can plug your RV directly into it. Yes get the one with a 50 amp plug so when you upgrade your RV you won't have to do it over. https://www.amazon.com/TL137US-Temporary-Receptacle-Installed-Unmetered/dp/B00A8FQUYW/ref=sr_1_1?crid=28UVFPNP6Q2JS&dchild=1&keywords=rv+power+pedestal+50+30+20&qid=1597332028&sprefix=RV+power+ped%2Caps%2C207&sr=8-1 Bill
  17. Before and after pictures might be nice. But yes that does sound like the way to go. Bill
  18. ldoughtie, Welcome to the forum. I would talk to a hydraulic shop like Kay said. I recall hearing there is a repair kit (seals) available. Bill
  19. The only place I will stay is Cherry Hill RV park. https://www.cherryhillpark.com/ Yes it is pricey but it gives you acess to the Metro train system. They have a bus that stops in the park that will take you to the terminal if you don't want to drive. Trust me you don't want to drive in downtown DC!!! Last time I was there, They had a lady selling tours and she did a seminar on how to use the trains to get to all the attractions. Trust me you need to know what train on what level or you could get realey lost. Bill
  20. David that's good news. I was wondering if polishing them with the same kit that they use on headlights might work. Replacements sound like a better deal. Bill
  21. Wayne,You are right that is in the middle of nowhere. When up that way we stay down on the coast in RI at Worden's Pond. Not fancy as he caters to his seasonal people. Only water and electric but they do pump outs and have a dump station. It is close to some of wifes friends and one son. https://www.wordenpondfamilycampground.com/ Bill
  22. I must be lucky then as I have found plenty of places under what Joe found. But then we arn't looking for kids parks. Yes on the coast if you don't have reservations don't bother. Heck if you are along the coast near Moody Beach you may not be able to get on the road because of the traffic on the weekends. We were in the area for a rally a few years back and if you wanted to leave the campground in the toad it took over 15-20 minutes sometimes to find a hole in the slow moving line of cars going both ways. So I can't recommend the US-1 that time of year. Joe, that place I stayed near Lancaster, Country Acres Campground was $50-60 a night and a nice place. Well still no response back from the OP. Bill
  23. Look at the dipstick carefully. On my old coach there was a "Cold" fill line. The outher lines are for when it is hot. Bill
  24. Have you checked if the fan is going to hi speed when the temps are up? Bill
  25. The real problem is it moves with the parking brake on. It has been my experience that most gas coaches use the pin in the transmission "Park" position as the main way to keep them from moving. The Ford based ones I have experience use the old cable to the rear brakes method plus the park position and Chevy likes the hydroboost power brake on the driveshaft just behind the transmission along with the "Park". I am not as good as some at guessing with no information. Yes I know how my coach works with air brakes. Yes they are on the rear axle and no you don't want to raise the rear axle off the ground and no they won't release without air in the system, current minimum is 65 pounds. Bill
