  1. I have never heard of a "Car Fax" on a class A motorhome. You would be much better having it inspected by a certified RV inspector. Eaven if they did have Car Fax for RVs you would still be better with a certified inspection. The reason is it looks at all of the RV right now and doesn't rely on someone voluntarily sending in a report. Bill
  2. Thank you for your service. Glad you got them to break loose. Bill
  3. I saw this article and thought it might be useful to start a conversation about "what is going on" and "what can we do to change this". The article was in RV travel and gives an interesting perspective. Also read the comments at the end. https://www.rvtravel.com/fmca-944/ What do you think? What do you think can be improved and how? Bill
  4. Bill Brown, if you do get under your coach, first make sure you chock the wheels so it can't roll. Remember you are trying to release the brakes. The only time I have had this problem I was able to rock the coach and they came loose. Bill
  5. Welcome to the forum. How much experience do you have driving oversize vehicles? How did it drive when you test drove it? Bill
  6. Looking good. So with all this "distincing" you got time to work on your coach. I like the lighter colored wood. Bill
  7. Don't worry about buying a used. I took my used Blue ox to a FMCA rally that I was going to and Blue Ox came out to the RV and did a complete rebuild and when they were done put a sticker on it saying it was certified. That only cost me about $30.00 now I have heard that Roadmaster does the rebuild for free but haven't any experience with them. As Jim said you can save a lot of money buying used. I think the used Break Buddy and towbar were under $450.00. Look around there are people geting off the road all the time. Bill
  8. Welcome to the forum rlbaer. Just curious are you buying or selling? Where are you located? I haven't heard much good about them but I haven't had any personal experience eather. What are you looking for? My experiance is I just bought a coach through National Indoor RV Centers https://www.nirvc.com/Sales and have one for sale at PPL Motorhomes https://www.pplmotorhomes.com/ Bill
  9. I would look at Remco Towing, http://www.remcotowing.com/Towing/Store.php You might call and see if there is someone they recommend for the installation in your area. Makes me feel lucky. I bought a used towbar and break buddy and had Blue Ox refurbish it at a rally before I had something I could tow 4 down. I think I would like a new base plate but there are lots of used towbars out there. I negotiated the baseplate and lights etc install when I bought my 2014 CR-V as part of the deal. Bill
  10. Call 800-322-8216 have your vin handey. They can send you the code to make new keys or they may have keys for sale.I bet all the storage bay doors are keyed the same. Welcome to the forum. Bill
  11. Glad we got that settled. For reference purposes. I just moved some tires around. It wasn't "rotating" in the normal sense. Before I took this coach home I ended up with 6 new tires on the back. The front ones were 2 1/2 years old. I decided I wanted to move the steers to the tag and have new tires on the front. Cowser Tire service on north loop 820 in Fort Worth did the work for me. $25.00 each labor and $27.00 balance. 2 ea valve extensions $9.97. As far as I can tell it rides smooth with no vibration. Some don't balance all the tires but I like to start with all of them balanced. Bill
  12. If you want to see your insurance go up try insuring 2 diesel pushers at the same time ask Carl. Bill
  13. I would go back to remco and read the notes. Notes Towable as is with speed and/or distance restrictions. Please see Owner's Manual for confirmation and procedures. It is not recommended to tow this vehicle over 65MPH When towing for an extended period of time, start the vehicle as often as possible and allow it to run for five minutes to prevent battery drain. Please check your Owner's Manual for confirmation. Follow procedures within Owner's Manual for guidance when towing this vehicle. To prevent the battery from draining while the vehicle is being towed, pull the fuse/fuses listed in the owner's manual. Follow owner's manual procedures. They also gave a list of equipment needed to tow 4 down. Bill
  14. When I got my card they said the same thing but I think it came much quicker. I think they like to have a little cushion. Good luck and let us know. Bill
  15. Herman, you can't fool Carl he knows it is only flat on one side. Seriously, look at the bottom picture. The right extension looks like it is to close to the rim and could chafe. Bill
  16. This may be more than the average RV mechanic can handel. I would start by calling some of the body shops that specialise in fiberglass repair or a fiberglass boat repair place. That looks like a fiberglass panel and you can make a mold off the drivers side and use it to make the part for this side. If they want to much turn it in to your insurance and let them find a place to fix it or total it. Bill
  17. romer1, welcome to the forum. That is a nasty bobo. So what does your insurance company say? Who have you talked to about fixing it? Bill
  18. Supersailor, welcome to the forum. I have been learning all about my new to me 2008 Newmar MADP and have talked to Newmar tech support several times to. They sent me all the wiring blueprints and they are just cartoons. I don't know about the old days but they are still not so good at having any print showing how anything was made, located or routed. One thing you might find useful is I have the Operator's Manual for the auto start and it shows the fuse or a fuse (5 amp in line) on the wire connecting to terminal 3 of the AGS Controller. It shows the fuse next to the + terminal of battery. This is on page 8. Who knows where it realey is but I would start looking near the batteries. Good luck and let us know where it is when you find it. Bill
  19. I don't have the loves app and was able to start the pumps with just my EFS card. Yes, Show me any major place dealing with money who doesn't want you ID. Your SSN is your ID. I hope FMCA moves to the EFS card as I don't like leaving money sitting in an account when not traveling. Bill
  20. I told them I find their videos more interesting now that I have a MADP to. Bill
  21. Mine is a little tiny 12.8 high. I am running 315/80R 22.5 all around. Interesting it is only 0.6 higher than my outher diesel pusher it is 12.2. Bill
