  1. Wayne the max width does not include safety items such as mirrors. What they can get on some coaches on it is the awnings. With the large roller, covers and end plates they stick out a few inches. Add both sides and that could amount to six inches. Maybe we all should take out our tape measure and include the awning covers but not the mirrors.
  2. Thanks again everybody, yes we got slammed but we were lucky compare to others that are still without power or generator. Rich I don't have auto start generator so I have to remember to manually run it once a month.
  3. I know that Roadmaster says 3 inches from toad to coach. Anymore can cause problems.
  4. Thanks Bill, I still have to have tree service as many trees are down or needs to come down on 2 1/2 acres. That not including branches and the one tree that broke in half. Never saw that before.
  5. I already ran the generator a few days ago so I knew it would work fine. Yesterday we lost power to the stick built house during a storm. We soon became aware that the power would be out for awhile as it was a very bad one with many communities without power. I got out, unplugged the 20 amp 50 foot extension cord used to keep the coach batteries charged and plugged in the house refrigerator freezer, a lamp and most important DW cell phone to the coach basement outlet. That save the day for us and lots of money for we didn't lose any food like so many. We were without power for over 24 hours and many in near by community will be without until tomorrow. Even though we ran the generator over 24 hours lately does not excuse not running the one hour test next month. Imagine what could of happen if the generator didn't work.
  6. Also check for out of round tire as similar symptoms. If brake rotors are out of round you will feel it more when stopping that's not saying a caliper isn't sticking. Since you are reaching 100K the front wheel bearings should be also closely inspected and repacked with fresh grease.
  7. I, like Bill, prefer to look up, reviews and call for the reservation. That way you get a live person to get you the best spot that is right for you. Any question you have about the place can be answered quickly. There are a few other reason to call like last minute reservation, checking for cancellation etc.
  8. I have a memory foam mattress from Costco about three years and love it. It's 14 inches thick and never needs to be rotated. Good thing because it's heavy at 110 lbs will add weight to the coach.
  9. It is a good practice to run the generator once a month for a hour under load. It suppose to warm up the winding and dry out any accumulated moisture. It is also to flush out the fuel system of stale fuel.
  10. Thank you Carl it's one of the best upgrades next to the smart TVs. The DW approved of both of those upgrades. I'm on a roll so I be thinking of another upgrade I can pass by her. Recliner with beer holders and get rid of the jack knife love seat. Nope I already tried and since the dog sleeps on it I have to drag the rocker swivel out of the back.
  11. Run extension cord to mirror to plug in solder iron. Plug in solder iron and wait ten minutes for it to warm up. Apply solder iron for another ten minutes to set screw to heat warm enough. Set solder iron on non flammable surface so it won't catch anything on fire when done for 30 minutes. Wind up extension core and put it away. Press micro torch button for instant flame. Apply pencil flame to screw for about one minute. Release micro torch button to turn flame off. Put micro torch into shirt pocket. Have a beer with all the time you saved. I'm just having fun with you Bill, I guess it's time to let it go and do it the way you want. I can't remember the last time I use the confounded solder iron in the bottom drawer?
  12. Bill We have the technology as you will see in the next link. This puts out a pencil point flame more narrow than your bic lighter and is faster and safer than solder iron that stays hot when your done. Cost less too. https://jet.com/product/b35f5c5565934dc8b86d69ba84beb4ab?jcmp=pla:ggl:hardware_other:hardware_tools_other:na:na:na:na:na:2&code=PLA15&k_clickid=d4a69d98-22e0-4945-a8e3-de15fe85bc79&kpid=b35f5c5565934dc8b86d69ba84beb4ab&gclid=Cj0KEQjwx_WuBRDJ7tSK2-W0pJkBEiQAEWgR8FS1CAEhpkzh4SK8GEKxhzkusNFuoHQB_UirBVXRfJoaAuXi8P8HAQ
  13. Wayne if there is locktite on the set screw it would be best to apply heat to melt the compound. After that it will come loose if you turn before it cools. You don't have to go crazy with the heat, just a use a hand held butane torch like used on crimp and seal wire terminals. Apply heat to set screw only.
  14. I'm not at all talking about the Winegard switch box with it's built in booster. What you would have to do is wire in the separate Winegard before the box. That booster should have one marked ant and two marked output. Hooked one output to the antenna in on the switch box. Hook the other to converter box and then directly to your rear TV. Another option which is more simple if you have access to the rear of the back TV is to hook up the converter to the that TV.
  15. Sounds like it got a leak. Pull a vacuum with a pump and it should hold for more than 30 minutes. If leaking put some dye in it to find out where it comes out.
  16. Joe you can not back feed the 12v booster through the converter to the antenna. It flow has to be antenna, booster, converter then TV. The good news is that the Winegard booster has two outlets. One for your smart TV and the other for your converter to your analog TV.

I would have the front tires check for out of round and balanced if OK. Most truck tire dealers have an off vehicle balance machine. If one of the Michelin is out of round it will be interesting to know how they handle the warranty.
  18. When I service the batteries on my coach the temperature sensor went to the first negative terminal on the house batteries,
  19. There can be many problems other than alignment for wandering. The best thing I did was get rid of the Goodyear tires, have the coach weight and set the right pressure. I went with Michelin as replacement at it had a higher ply rating and required less pressure.
  20. Rich that is what I finally did as the cost of replacing the TV was very little compare to rigging up analog TV to both separate channels. I'm lucky that I still have sound system that works with DVD but not over the air. I thought about getting a HDMI box but decided against it for now. Two converter boxes were about near 200 as two TV one 32' other 40' cost me 700. I just surface mounted them solid with angle iron and was a afternoon job for both.
  21. The only problem is the converter box won't do two tv's different channels at same time. What ever channel is on converter box is same both tv's
  22. Brett I went through that before digital TV were installed and had to bypass switch box 12 volt, install separate 12 volt booster then run ant to booster then to converter then to cable in at switch box. edit: that would be ant in at switch box
  23. Install a t-fitting on outlet of transmission cooler line close to the transmission and you will get a good reading from there. You will have to install a sensor and run a wire.
  24. Most dual saddle tanks have a hose at the bottom of both tanks that runs parallel to each other. One will be a feed tank and other secondary. You have to make sure that the line underneath runs flat between tank or the secondary tank level when you reach a certain level.will be different. Be sure the line don't loop upwards. The line could of been run on a piece of protected metal that got bent upwards from road debris. Second edit, I wrote this before my coffee kicked in.
