  1. Joe. Not sure, but I think they have the 9,300 AC and Heat Strip...the HS might be a problem. I was thinking 3 to a site, here in Texas that would avg. $12 a night or $6 in Passport America! Linda was looking at a Ram Class B today! I asked why? She said that it's just a little bigger than her current toad (2014 Ford Expedition EL) and would make a great day tripper and could haul my Jeep to places with limited parking! Nice thought, we could clean up from 4 wheeling, change clothes before heading back to RV park! She was serious!
  2. Keon! Yea, team! Mark. When they first came out with seat belt's, it was the single lap belt and they where real good, in holding the lower body to the seat, as the upper body part, went out the window! That's why a lot of people refused to wear them...since my parents lived in Santa Monica, they would send me the Local News paper and I could read all about it. Todays seat belt's are not much better. The only seat belt made that is good and will save your life is the harness used in race cars!
  3. Joe. Yes I did. Put the key in the lock and turned both off...Think on it, would you want to be on a 4x4 rocky, slippery trail or "shelf trail of shale", straight up one side and down a thousand + on the other, and your dam Tanaka goes off, when you hit a bump! That don't invoke a pretty picture in my mind. Mark. In regards to the 16,000+....you pick a number!
  4. Mark. I have read this whole tread, just now, since I missed it last July. I was in Europe at the time. This is what I have gotten out of it...Government Regulations for the most part, is overkill, just another way to put 16,000+, clueless people to work! Any crash test, is a controlled environment, where mass meets an immovable object at X mph! The X mph is never Freeway speed and the outcome is mathematical predictable! What is not predictable is a faulty air bag, that has metal chards in it and has killed and maimed people, that probably would have survived, had they not had a bag deployment at 7 mph!!! I disabled mine in the Jeep Wrangler! Richard. That did not look as bad, as the Tiffin or any other cookie cutter, gas or DP, would have! I fully intend to get another coach, before I hang up the keys, and it will be a Prevost XL or XLll...The last XL (40 foot) was in 2005, since then it's been XLll or XLlll (45 foot). Point is, they are built like your 1964+ and will not explode with flying fiberglass in a accident. I don't have much trust in the H3-45...just the XL's. I'm at a Rally in Tyler, Texas and one of our members have a 47 foot Custom Built 2016 Newell. It's integrity, both inside and out, is close to the Prevost, but I would still trust the XL more! Mark. I would not want to be in any Class B or C in a 60+ mph accident...even with accident avoidance system, I can think off a lot of scenario's where it would get you maimed or killed, just by avoiding the other vehicle! I'll go with a foam dash mattress!

brothers8. If your exhaust brake comes on when you use your brakes, then your brake lights should be on. My coach has a manual on/off toggle switch, if I engage it, then it will stay on and slow me down on hills or flat regardless off me stepping on brake or not. If I'm not on brake petal, then no light. If you follow a 18 wheeler down a steep grade and it has exhaust brakes, his brake light will only come on when he step's on brake, as he will also be in a lower gear. My Allison will automatically go into lower gears as I decelerate by the combination of brakes.

brothers8. Welcome to the Forum! Unfortunately, our CAT expert is in South Chile at the moment (not in RV) and he won't return until 3/30/18. We have a member on the forum...BILLEDWARDS look him up and send him a personal message...he's got 2 Safari's. Right now he's in the Quartzite area boon docking! The other would be DickandLoise.
  7. Huh??? My personal thought, it's a great product and for 6 to 7 years you'll love it...then you need to replace it (nothing last's for ever) and $5,000 later, you'll hate it.
  8. Joe. Sweat is good for a lot of things, besides keeping you cool. Taking multiple showers per day, Taking coach out of garage to work on it. Also, it keeps you communicating with a higher being, daily talking about colder weather. Are there any other bases that need to be covered on this post?
  9. As Joe S. Said, the waters in Florida is home to Gators, Croc's & Snakes. I have a lot of photos off big gators, a couple of croc's also. The Everglades Park Rangers estimate about 1,000 Croc's! Other than that, enjoy a very scenic State.
  10. Herman is North of I-30, that alone makes him a re located Texan into Yankee Territory! WBill is a re located Yankee and still one! Joe, just buy south of I-20 and you'll be Texan! South of DFW area, is nice open country to live in...even if you work in DFW! Crime you get anywhere in the World these days. Dickinson, Texas or DFW or Lancaster, PA. it's all the same!
  11. Jim S. Pull the fuse or disconnect the wire!
  12. Norm. Any time or questions, we are here to answer! Remember, there is no dumb questions!
  13. WBill. Was that "No Chip", meant for me? My Visa has a chip! the charges are paid almost instantly out of my cash account...CMA Card. I cut up my AE black card a long time ago!
  14. Joe S. I ran into that at Shell in AZ last Winter for FMCA at chandler. Was told that all Shell stations only excepted debit cards with chip! We limped into Casa Grande Pilot. Linda took 81+ gallons on a 100 gallon tank, I took 112 gallons! We have not used Shell since. We have heard that it's the same thing nation wide. I always go in and have them run $300-$400 on my card as credit...it's a Visa Credit/Debit card (I don't do pin numbers). Pump my fuel, go back in get my receipt for gallons pumped and price. I really don't mind it, you got to keep circulation moving & it's generally every other day when on the road, when Linda is in my rig, then it's 3 days between. Since my Visa has no limit, I only call them before a large purchase...like 2 R/T, first class tickets to Norway.
  15. Are you in a Class A, B or C? Do you have a back up camera? You do need to practice and the more you do, the better you get. At this point I have Linda to help me, but for 26 years I was on my own. Sometimes, a fellow camper would help, but most times it was just me! Herman is right, you have got to get a clear picture in your mind as to where everything is! The markers that I use is the Table and any trees, look for low branches and same that may overlap part of parking space. Joe S. and Jim S. Is right also. Back stop and look around, is probably your best option, until you get used to backing in! Above all else, DO NOT GET IN A HURRY!!!
  16. That's not fair...fearless leader! I was going to say that.
  17. DFW. Has not been any warmer that in Burnet, TX. Been at this ranch since December, we ran away to the Camp in Three Rivers for a week in January and it snowed more there than in Burnet, when we left. Yes Sir, you do need heated tiles in the Bus. Just surprised that it and AGM is an option...I had a 2011 AB and it was part of the package deal...speaking of deal. If you don't get a minimum of 30% off on MSRP...Walk away! I got my first class A in 1967! On my 17th now.
  18. Wayne. I moved out and my best friend moved in with his 5'er, he had a cop's coach next to him (used to be next to me). Yea, they came in thru the back and did a number on a lot of 5'rs and coaches! Can't remember the year, but it was a facility on Hwy.99 East of I-45...I was there only 3 months, I don't like pole sheds and my 40 foot stuck out 10 feet. They got 3 RV's belonging to cops that night.
  19. Hi Norm, Welcome! I got both. Did not think I needed heated tiles in Texas and the other Southeast and Southwest states...glad I got them! Also wish I had them in my beach house.. AGM's, I have 10. 2 for chassis and 8 for house. You pay more for them, but you don't have to check the water level and they should be good for 7-9 years! What are you buying?
  20. Herman's going to get you for that one! After, he get's finished laughing and get's rid of the visualization!
  21. As Jim S. can attest to, it's nice to live in the Country, with acreage! You don't have to worry about parking...Herman has that also on 10ac. Mark, your in one of the few areas of CA. that allows RV parking on property or Street...I had to get a special permit from the City of Santa Monica and Brentwood, just to pick my Mom up...forget parking! That's just drive thru..$$$$
  22. Who would have thought it. Most are Labs or Shepherds! Bassets do have the nose... Joe. You bringing the dog to NM? Both of ours will be there.
