Bungapads. Welcome to the Forum! Is it possible? Yes....but not cheap! We all have problems keeping cool in "really hot places"! When I'm in a campground, in a area that has high humidity and 90+ degrees with no clouds, I let all my day/night shades down in coach! I set the 3 zones at 74 and leave! Good time to go sightseeing, catch a movie or a museum, go shopping in a mall or Home Depot, Lowes. Leave your slide outs in, until you get back. Since you have bunk beds, I'll guess you have kids, go where they want to go! I try to stay above 7,000 feet in the hottest part of Summer or along the Western or N. Eastern coast line! I would not spend thousands of dollars to add a AC unit. Carl

Dons2346. I called in my registration and made sure that they recognized me as a ND and I'll be there the 10th, early....a lot of confusion from the lady that I was dealing with, she had zero knowledge about EB or GB or ND's. Now she does! Note to all National Directors and Alternates. Go to FMCA. com and click on member/governance, re read or read for first time the Constitution and By-Laws...You are responsible for all members in your Chapter! If you are a first time delegate, make sure you also read the procedure booklet that will be in your registration packet. You can also read it on line under governance! If you can avoid it, do not have it held for Will Call. This will probably be the most important election and change (maybe) since the founding of FMCA ! If this is your first time as a AND or ND, then please call or send a mail to your Area Vice President !!! Carl

BillA. I do wish it will work for you! You was not kidding, when you said it was a long post.

Bosun, Welcome! Great looking rig and really like your "toad", to be. Speaking of your toad, you don't need a base plate to tow it. I have a Roadmaster 6000 and I use my "D" ring connection to insert pin...all you need is electric and a supplemental brake for Jeep! Look under my name and you'll see how I tow mine. Enjoy your travels!

RSBill. There was towables at Chandler. From what I heard, parking them in Electric section was not easy and they where fifth wheel ! Wayne. I understand and respect your thoughts. The only thing I really don't understand, is how this is going to lower the age level? Young folks, under 45 are not going to Rally's, or if they do, it will be on a day pass, to go see all the vendors and get what they need. You don't need to be a member of any club, to do that ! Since the high tech and internet, have been around...every Club, Association and Fraternal Organization, you can think off, has suffered in obtaining new and young members! How can we FMCA, turn that around? This is only my personal opinion. We need an Executive Board of 45, or younger members and the same with Governance (National Directors) ! Business meetings once a month, done via Internet (same as major corporations do). Annual meeting at FMCA Rally, before the opening day of Rally! Don't spend money on Consultants...most of them have grandchildren and no more clue than I have! My 2 cent's worth! By the way, Good Sam and Escapees, are having the same problem as we are! I'm a member of both. Carl

They generally don't hide a Salesman switch...most salesmen that I have run across , would flip it on and 10 minutes later, forget where it was! I'm guessing that it leads to lights or speakers that they forgot to put in or connect ! Your coach is one of the last units built before the big bankruptcy of the industry! As Herman said.

They do have snap on covers. Best I have seen was fitted to grommets in wheel well. Snap on and let them hang.

I can't bundle, USAA don't do RV's anymore, they now send you to Progressive.

Brett. Yes, I do remember your post about the three deletions! Like Joe, I too have a dislike and zero tolerance for personal attacks! Kay. Right on! Towable's is such a wide open field, and other than camping in a park, I have nothing in common with that group...I can't walk up to a guy in a trailer and start a technical conversation. As I stated in the disappeared post, I do have friends in fifth wheel trailers and some cost three times my coach, what we have in common has nothing to do with what we camp in...they also do not wish to join FMCA and can't understand why FMCA wants them!

I have noticed that. 64 at 1650 rpm is my sweet spot for mpg. Add a head wind and it goes down incrementally fast for each 5 mph against me...hills will do the same! If it blows hard enough, I get into 5th gear at about 1,800 on flats or about 61. Going out to Chandler, AZ. We where in 5th gear, 35/40 from El Paso, TX. to Deming, NM.

Probably just a spare. Most just put a black blank in, if you want to add something. you have access to do so. My coach had the same rocker switch as yours and I used it to install a LED light. Same in my bedroom closet, now I can see both sides.

Everybody has their own opinions, that's a good thing! When it comes to Insurance, there is no, "one size fits all".

Let's call a Diamond a Diamond. This post was deleted on purpose! I know, or think I know that it was not Brett that did this! It then had to be someone in FMCA that ordered IT to delete it. I'm not fond of censorship! Carl

Thank you for the information! Carl

Joe. Any of us would be more than happy to help, give you ideas, anything fits in FMCA. That might be the reason you have not found any chapters in PA. Time to think out of the box. You and Keon have on a small scale started something, get in touch with AZ, sure 1,800 miles away, but that's how INTO's are formed. Casual is in Ohio! Go for it guy's! Carl

The last Pilot I was in, had a sign that said BIO up to 20%...I left. Right down the road was another TS that had no BIO and .189 cents a gallon cheaper! I probably took 90+ gallons. My last fuel stop was in Lufkin, TX. April 26. I got 99.274 gal. at $2.299 per gal. no BIO !

Dinghy Odometer Mileage
manholt replied to math1929@yahoo.com's topic in Toads-Towed Behind Motorhome
Mileage under tow = Carl Ada's answer above! tomkathy. Get a break system for you toad, I agree not all state's require you to have one, ask your insurance agent. If you decide to visit Canada or Mexico you got to have one! If your in a accident, the Insurance company won't pay! I saw a coach in Florida on I-75S that had to do a panic stop with a Fiat 300 as a toad, no break on toad, it climbed up the hitch and flipped into coach engine! Carl -
Sorry, my bad...my mind apparently was out to lunch without me! Kay your right, sun shad's! Never mind the color part.
-
This is confusing...Since the OP's question and everything else had to do with window power awnings...where did sun screen come from?
-
Joe. At 45 foot and a toad, I don't even try! Only once, I was in a RV park and needed fuel for Aqua Hot. I found a "we deliver low sulfur, no BIO fuel", 50 gal. minimum at $4.00 per gal., I took 100 gal. Now, I come in with 100+ gal, to RV parks, summer or winter.

If you use a metal detector make sure it's not picking up signal from cross beams (cage of body) but actual roof only!
