  1. Wayne. Still have problems, or are they a thing of the past? Other than the smaller BS we all deal with every time we hit the road to our personal freedom!
  2. Bill, at your altitude it would be approx. 198 degrees, but it will take longer, about 25%, cooking time to get there. Higher the altitude=lower temp for boiling. Joe would be at normal 212 degrees, as I. Denver is 202 + 20% cook time.
  3. My next coach, will not have a Marine/Land Macerator Toilet ! Toilet above BT with a flapper you can keep open, can't be beat...dump at campground, add some water and ice cubs, when you leave and dump at next park or home....never had a problem on 16 coaches, before this one! Mouse trap and KISS ! You can keep the "Sant-i-Flush" and everything else out there! If you really want to see the BM's, by all means get a clear addition before the 3"....
  4. What temperature are you currently reading and has it changed from previous readings? What environment are you in now and is it different from your normal areas to travel or live in? What year and model is your Newmar DP? Carl C.
  5. Rodger. Pellet grills are great for long and slow! Drooling, we are smoking trout tonight. Along with grilled tomatoes, from the garden and cast iron fried cabbage, same garden! Before any one asks, fresh trout fly's overnight by UPS, just like Main lobster, to us poor Texans! Joe. When you get rid off gas tank, you'll have a place for the Webber, put it on a slide out...no box needed ! But, with some imagination, that you have plenty off, think box or out of box, about container ! Carl
  6. Winnebago used to have a commercial, where a crane picked up the Class A by all four corners. too prove the integrity of their RV's. Impressive and they sold a lot off units! The last time I saw that commercial, was about 20 years ago! I had a 07' Tour 40' KD, DP. Bought new, had some issues that was above the normal new, but all in all it performed as expected for 4 years and 57,000 miles. Would I buy any manufactured new class A DP today? Only one, the Newmar Dutch Star is the biggest bang for the bucks in a class A DP !
  7. Chris. I remember those years and the 80's....then I guess we ( FMCA, Kings Highway, RV Life ) became PC with no negative reporting allowed ! In defense of FMCA, they where the last to print a "we suggest, so and so, would be recommended".
  8. I won't.. And thank you, for the explicit, in depth, explanation off your sinuses, before I have breakfast ! I thought of having SOS on toast, think I'll pass on that... Carl
  9. Sorry, forgot. I would have it made out of Aluminum, not wood. Possibility of fire in bay, no matter how remote that might be, I don't want to worry about. Safety first !!!
  10. I like it. It would even work on mine, all electric coach...my Weber is gas. That being said, Oregon is a little longer away from me than you! Carl
  11. FIVE. Going to call today...had no chance yesterday. I have a suspicion that some of my batteries are shot, I know the generator battery is dead. Yesterday I had to use the house batteries to start it...I'm having all of them tested today. The 50A pedestal was fluctuating from 112V-125V on one leg yesterday and the Surge Protector did prevent that leg to run...later the electrician fixed it and I had and currently have 120V on both legs, +/- 1V. Have not had blinking pads for 36 hours, but still get an occasional "clunk"! Also #3 AC is still out. If I have to get new batteries, it will be AGM's...that's what this coach had originally and got changed before I bought it. I did not mentally Snap to it until a year later.
  12. Joe. #3 will not come on and L-2 is showing the same...I'll ck as soon as I finish my cereal and get dressed....showing Voltage 121-124, no amps. That may also be due to too much voltage?!
  13. I knew, a younger person could explain it, in a language I could understand ! Thank you... Now all I got to do is figure out how to download from iPhone to computer! Carl
  14. OK. Have it narrowed down some what. This only happens when I'm on Shore Power! On Generator yesterday, Electric Co. shut everything off to install a new Transformer and add a 400A panel to barn. and had no issues with anything ! When plugged in, now, I'm showing L-1 at 121V and 15A, L-2 at 118-124V and 0A, then there is a clunk and both legs will show 118-120V and 3-15+Amps, depending on what is running. I have Magnum 2812...2 of them, 4 batteries, each 6V on each Inverter/charger. Have checked everything step by step on installation and per Electrical schematic on each unit. All grounds are good. Don't know and don't care to get involved with 120V from pedestal to coach and coach to battery's. Built in surge protector. Circuit Breakers are good and clunk does not come from them. Don't know how to check the 2 big relays in outside bay next to Battery bay and below Inverters. Now, don't know what this means? When I disconnect my power cord and hit the switch for cord retriever, it's real slow and then stops...I looked at my battery reading and they showed 2.6V just before Magnum panel went blank. Hooked up shore power, everything came back instantly and batteries showed 13.8. Got generator started and unplugged from shore power and reel worked like a race car and brought cord in all the way. Batteries went to absorption charge at 14.1....No clunk all day! Mystified... Carl
  15. Kay. That's a thought, but that much pressure? Maybe it's set up to clean radiator, fan and CAC, by using fresh water tank...that would be interesting !
  16. Perhaps, now is time to call Monaco ? The part about, "treat this unit like a gun", is interesting! Don't want you blown off the mountain! I have been told that a Rotor Ruther of the nose, is not a pleasant experience...does the DW smell different now?
  17. Kay. Dogs are easy! Cats, like women, make no logical sense ! Hope I'm not in trouble... Carl
  18. Good to know. I was North bound 8 years ago and before then in 88'....things change.
  19. Why don't you build a new coach, while your at it? By the time you get finished, re sale will be "0", since your the only one who knows how to run it ! Carl
  20. I had the same issue last year, turned out the sensor needed replacement. No more issues. Is the light yellow or red? Have you called Newmar Tech? Carl
  21. Bill, thank you! I have been assured I will be...can't guarantee I'll be dancing a Polka, but ambulatory!
  22. Rodger. I agree that there are issues within the RV Industry that can be improved upon. I believe about 25% of most things I read, and less of what I hear! You have the equivalent of the rvdaily report in just about every Industry out there. "Award winning journalist", say's so and so! Does he/she own their RV, power boat, sail boat and high end car? I don't think so...they base a truth upon Forums and complaints! I would venture to say that most RV's would never give you any more of a problem, than a well built house, if they just sat there hooked up and didn't move down a road. Moving down the road, is where the fun happens...first time buyers are not thinking about all the maintenance that is involved in keeping the RV rolling and them happy! Also, don't complain about items that the Manufacturer of the RV have no control over! It's not their leveling jacks, appliances, AC or heating units, wheels or tires, locks and hinges, battery's, chassis or engines, on and on! RVIA has been around for a very long time! Before that the RV industry was bedlam and there was no control over anything. There would not be millions of RV owners out there, that are second time plus owners, if the RV manufacturers where as bad, as the people who complain, say they are! I'm on my 17th and I'm not Stupid! My 2 cents worth and please, don't take anything out of context.
  23. Last time I was up there, I took the Freeway to Rifle and then 13N to 789 to I-80. Nice road and nice scenery 90% of the way...I was in a 40' DP.
  24. Good for you! Glad we could save you some bucks....I really love Dealers...NOT ! "Barn Find?" No kidding. Your up early/or late!
