  1. As Herman suggested. I was there 2 weeks ago getting work done on mine and a nicer, more knowledgeable are hard to find. That said, they have a great selection and fair pricing! Since your in FL you might also try Lazydays in Seffner....they always have 1,000 + RV's on hand. To buy there is good, but service stinks. My suggestion would be a pre 06' Monaco DP, Holiday Rambler DP or Safari DP. Welcome to the Forum and wish you luck. Carl C.
  2. As you said. "I don't think they own an RV or get to enjoy the RV life". If the shoe fits....
  3. After reading all of this, I'm saying a silent prayer of thanks to my guardian angel! In all my years off driving an RV, I have never had a ticket! In a car, yes, 121mph on the old Galveston Causeway Bridge, cops had a road block set up at Harbor side rd. $2,000 bond, driver safety course and then I got my $ back less $500 for court cost and ticket erased from my record! The Kemah water police gave me a ticket for doing 24mph in a 5mph no wake zone...Judge threw it out of court, when he found out I was in a 47' Blue Water Race boat. My idle speed was 24mph...I think Kemah gets their cops from the Ozarks! It's embarrassing, but Texas has and has had a lot of Speed Traps...be real careful around San Antonio and the Valley! Carl C.
  4. Your both right on! I retired from Oil in '85 but took on a 2 year Consulting job in 99'...I live on the Island and to get away for a couple of days, I would take the coach and camp at the State Park...1/2 mile from the house, just to get away from phone!!! Carl C.
  5. Peg. Welcome to the Forum! In 1981, my wife and I had a 30' Apollo Class "A" gas coach. We towed a 4x4 and we had a hitch attached to the front of the coach so that we could carry 2 Honda 50cc bikes on a rack that was built in Gary, IN. Don't remember name of Company. The rack raised/lowered by hydraulics.. There are several Companies on the internet that makes them now. We traded in the 50's for 80's and did the same thing on a 1983 Apollo 33' and a 1987 Barth 34' DP. It's not overkill, just a solution! Carl C.
  6. Mine are strong, I just push hard and it comes down ! I keep nothing under it, but my re-set switch for all things DC is there...
  7. LOLOL... All kidding aside, I wish Bill would jump on periodically!
  8. Brett. That's the joy of being on the Ocean Blue! 2 different metals and no sacrificial lamb... Carl C.
  9. Cummins 425 Allison 3000. When descending I use the engine brake and the Allison automatically downshifts to 23 and stays there until I exit the EB mode, then the Allison automatically change back to whatever gear I was in prior to hill, usually 5 or 6. RPM stays at 2200 to 2400. Per Cummins, perfectly normal. On long down hills, I switch back and forth some times. I never drive with my brake on, as it will affect the cruise control. My owners manual on 4 different DP's have said, don't drive with engine brake on in CC. Carl C.
  10. CW strikes again! They never seem to get an "A" on the report card...always a negative! I used them a lot, prior to Marcus Lemonis take over ( the owner of CW & GS)! I don't use Good Sam anymore either.
  11. I'll ask them....we are doing Texas this Fall, instead of E. Coast. When I get an answer, I'll send you a PM. Carl C.
  12. What is Bills favorite ice cream? Blue Bell for me! I'll be at both rally's next year also. Carl
  13. Good thought! Frank. The mother laid the eggs, she would know where her kids where and feed them.
  14. Since it's an across the board item, I agree with Bill. KISS ! In Summer, I run 15/2...rest off the year, 10/2. Carl C.
  15. "Nocold" strikes again ! I still don't understand why you all keep them ! Expensive, greedy and bad attitude...makes no sense to me !!!
  16. Kay. I remember when you got it and I looked at it for a long time...still in the back of my mind, I just don't have a use for one, except 1 or 2 times a year.
  17. Sorry, but I just don't trust MS anymore! Since my work is related to and in Norway and USA, I'll probably get a Apple Lap Top. Several things I like: Everything in/out is encrypted, compatible with 110V & 220V without adapters and you don't need a password, it uses your finger print (any finger) !
  18. Wayne. Run your pump for showers, it increases your pressure ! Happiness is Cleanliness
  19. What's wrong with "tiny bikinis"? KOA is tight for anything over 37' to drive thru. Site was nice, but now with a 45', I would not try it. Agree with ObedB !
  20. I'll be in Fort Stockton this PM....101 and dry. Tomorrow, Ruidoso, NM for 4 weeks....80's/60, now that works for me ! FIVE, I don't need an oven...
  21. They sold a lot of them at the Perry Rally. But, you can't just eye ball your SUV and buy one, saw what happened when it did not fit all the way in! Not pretty...
  22. I had to turn my updates off in order to prevent W10 to download automatically. Lost way to many files, then had to pick a restore point to get rid of W10 and return to W7. Each time this happened I was in the coach and W10 gobbled up all my month available GB's. I love my old lap top and W7 ! I have had no Security updates this year and have no issues! I'm beginning to believe that Micro Soft is both the cause and cure of the issues ! My best friends DW has a PC with Vista and has never down loaded any thing from MS. She shops a lot on Internet and spends time on all the Twitter, Facebook, etc. Kids play on it and never lost any thing !
