Puff. Your right! Amazing how much BS happened in 4 years, in part because of Al Gore and the new and improved EPA ! Global Warming is real, but the world could go back to horse and buggy, no modern technology and we still can't stop GW! In the meantime, I need some peace of mind on my current problem....if I have a problem? Carl

Carrying a Stepladder for Washing Motorhome Windows
manholt replied to rfsod48's topic in Type A motorhomes
Al. I used to have one, but gave it to a friend for his 5th wheel. He's 73 like me, but he's 5'4" and I'm 6'8" ! His moving parts work better than mine! Carl- 32 replies

Perry, GA. It was great....thank you FMCA ! FIVE. Next one is W. Springfield, Mass. August 3, Then there is a 6 State in Okla. Sep. Carl

Joe. Call me dumb, but what is Monaco wanted?
-
I'm starting to really like the older, pre 06' coaches that Monaco used to own and two that they still own...no I will not even look at the new ones. I looked at every coach available for sale in Perry....they all have a lot off useless "Bling"! It amazes me that people buy a coach for the Bling and not the chassis and engine ! Back to oil hubs, sorry I vented. Carl

Since I had not been to Perry before, I was advised to take Hwy 80 E thru AL and GA. Even Google maps and MapQuest recommend it. OK, 80 in AL is great, GA. Not ! I left Perry at 8:30am today and took I-75 to Atlanta and I-20 to Jackson, I'm at a Yogi Bear RV park, came in at 4:pm and that is stopping for fuel and 2 Rest Areas, 1 to eat lunch and 1 to just stretch my legs! From Jackson, Miss. to Longview, TX is an easy 6 1/2 hour drive down I-20. Took 2 1/2 days to get to Perry and 1 1/2 days back! 64mph on cruise control....no small towns at 35! No traffic lights! Some could say that 80 is more scenic, sorry, hard to look at things at 55/60 on one lane, no shoulder, cars and trucks, road. Then on 2 lane road, it's not much more to look at than the Freeway. I'll stick to the Interstate when going from A to B and sight see in toad! Had a great time in Perry and will return in '18! Thank You, FMCA. Carl

In the past, when light came on it was the high temp burn off of the particulate. Exhaust #1 would go to around 1150 degrees and #2 to around 1250 to 1350 degrees...both for about 10 to 12 minutes. Today, #1 went to 750 and #2 to 1100...the difference was today I had lots of exhaust in coach with the stench of raw fuel. I pulled over at a off ramp and could hardly see the bedroom....no alarms or lights from dash or Silver Leaf. After about 10 minutes with windows open and fans on the HEST light went off and when I put coach in gear 4, and drove to Campground the temps on #1 and #2 was at 425! I don't feel or hear anything different. Could this be caused by the last Cummins visit when I had all filters replaced? Carl

This park is very nice with lake and all the toys. It is located off exit 68 on I-20 outside of Jackson, Miss. If you have a 36' or less coach you will enjoy it. Anything bigger (they say Big Rig friendly) and it's absolutely horrible! I got in at 4pm and finally found a space big enough for my 45', but am only level side to side with jacks down, back to front is one whole bubble off ! $28 a night full H/U with cable! Carl

I'm partial to Colorado. But all you have to do is Google each state RV park and or resort. Carl
-
I got both in there now and will drive with it tomorrow in 1/2 tank full, then dump. When I get back to TX. I'll see how it goes! Normally, in the past, I would do it once a month when traveling and every other week while driving I would add about five pounds of ice cubes. Carl

ObedB. For all practical purposes, Rally is over. I was going to leave today, then remembered an INTO. get together, so now I'm here overnight! We had almost 2,200 coaches! About 70% are still here, so tomorrow morning should be interesting....hope they are not all going North by West. Carl

Joe. Did you totally dismantle as much as possible on your Nocold before taking it out the window? It is now 4:05pm at Perry, time for wine, cheese and crackers! Also cold...for us Southern folks! 63 with a WNW 23 mph wind. It's been in the 80's all week... Carl

When was the last time you had your roof checked for re caulking ? Your leak may not be the slide, could be coming from another area via capillary action! As far as a leak test is concerned that is normally done in an enclosed bay under high pressure, like a heavy rain storm. I do mine at Lazydays in Tampa and that is about the only thing they know how to do well ! Carl

Well, there is shine and then there is Shine! My friend in TX likes honey shine that I get in the Blue Ridge Mts. of Ashville every year! When I was drinking, I preferred apple shine from the Pigeon Fork area....non of them have seen a fed. sticker. Carl

You ever done a cost comparison? Who cost more per day, the Husky or the coach? Throw the bearings?...that's interesting! So, in the USMC, they teach you to remove the propellant from a bullet, so that you can throw a handful of lead at your enemies? Actually, a hunting slingshot, in the confined space of a MH, will kill a human or totally incapacitate one, depending on the bearing used and ability of the shooter ObedB is correct and I will add: If you have bullets, but no gun or gun with no bullets, bang, bang your dead!
-
Wayne. I do carry a slingshot in my bay, along with a box off 3/8" SS ball bearings....small game hunting on some land I have in West Texas. Carl

Sand Dunes, Gator Reptile Park. Straight up Hwy 285...been years since last time! When do you expect to be in Amarillo?
-
Owners said they had the front AC unit blow up? yesterday....Tech figures it fried some wires to rear of coach and shorted out today! Nobody will really know until they take the coach apart. Flat bed tow truck showed up about 2:30pm and got the 40' DP ! Parked across road from me. It had less than 1000 miles on it and their best friends are parked next to me, they also have less than a 1000 miles on their Allegro "Open Road" gas! Both couples got new 2016's a week prior to Perry ! Between them, it's their 18th Tiffin MH, in 27 years ! The 34' gasser has no problems....yet ! Carl

Joe, is that bra a diamond shield? If so, removal is a real B. 9 pound dog? Geez, that's normal for LA. Cockroaches and Mosquitos! Carl

Supplemental Braking - What's Best for My Situation?
manholt replied to matthew6279's topic in Toads-Towed Behind Motorhome
Since I don't have a temp gun in my repertoire, I'll just have to wing it. Took it to Wall Mart earlier today, it works and I had brakes. Monty installed the air line above my radiator, when he found out that I really do go 4 wheeling! Been around for 73 years, but that don't mean you have to act that.. Carl- 34 replies

Coach Fire: Smoke damage in bedroom and rear bathroom...they got the coach at RV World of GA., who is here at Rally, their picking up coach today and Tiffin is delivering a new 40' Phaeton to owners house. They live 15 miles from dealership! That's the kind of service everyone needs to give!!! Carl

Riverside may be crowded because of FMCA, Perry, GA. Rally....make reservation today if your going there....lovely place! Carl
