Jeep Wrangler Towing Advice for Motorhome "Newbie"
manholt replied to fagnaml's topic in Toads-Towed Behind Motorhome
I also have the M&G brake system. Had it installed at the Perry, GA. rally this past March. I had invisa brake since it came out, this is so much better and cheaper! Other exception is that I don't use a base plate, just hook my Road Master Sterling 6000 direct to my steel bumper, when I'm unhooked my D rings go into the same bracket! Good Luck and happy 4th. Kay. That's a first ! Question: My front windshield, large one piece, has a stress fracture running from bottom up 4" then turns right 9"...is it fixable? Or do I take a $$$ hit? Carl
-
Bill. Just looked at the photo bucket and write up on your 01'. That's the cleanest 15 year old/young coach I have ever seen! In 91', Grand Cayman, I was one day away from my Dive Master ticket...all the Instructors left, the night before for Desert Storm! Never had time to follow up...PADI. Never saw any off them again and I lived there until I sold the house on East End in 98'. I had it built on 6ac. in '83! Carl

Bill. I think you and I are on the same time zone...I'm in NM. 70 miles due W of Roswell, the land of UFO's ! I knew about the restoration of Porsche, but that's a long stretch to a RV !!!! No matter, your doing a h&*%l of a good job and a lot more than I'm capable off ! Carl

The difference in price is, a cooler coach, longer life and less light needed...also, use of less watts. I have nothing else in house, garage and shop now and my elect bill is way less! Happy 4th and fly a flag... Carl

You should have an adhesive that is holding your windshield in place. The gasket keeps water out and looks good. Your coach is 13 years old and I expect so is your gasket. I would install a new one ! Happy 4th and fly a flag... Carl

Herman. Between my spelling and yours we could start our own Dictionary ! Keep forgetting about Buckhorn RV. Wonder where OP lives ? Happy Independence Day ! Carl
-
That's normal, unless you specify otherwise, even on a new unit, especially a W ! On my current coach, we (they) had to re wire. That 5 years would work on Coach's also! Carl

Mine is 65psi for brake release and 75 before the high pitched buzzer goes off ! One time had to drive to a shop, 112 miles, in Colorado at 70psi...never again! A couple off hundred bucks and some time now, can prevent thousands and perhaps losing your or someone else's life later ! Fix it... Carl

"Rest of the day"? WOW ! Let me know when you start a Custom Coach Business...I'll invest ! Looking forward to seeing the finished product. 1999 aka 2016 ! David. Your 2 problems will be flying rock and dust, depending on where you go in Alaska ! Know people who has gone round trip and nothing happened, others, not so lucky ! Happy and safe 4th. Carl

Or Barnominium It's a metal building of any size you can afford or want. Like a S & B it's insulated, with electric, water and sewage. You drive your RV into building and the rest is a home. I have seen the home part to be 2 stories and a wall separating it from the garage. They have become quite popular in Texas and Louisiana. Not just fro RV's. Carl

Happy you found a solution to your CW fiasco ! I sincerely hope it holds up and no more problems! Bill. What all do still need to do? My brain is not clicking on all cylinders yet, since I was put under for 7.5 hours, late March! I thought you was ready to roll. Carl

That's true. sometimes I wonder where my six pack went, then I remember the ones I drank ! I'm still 224 pounds, just in all the wrong places... Carl
-
Yes! Hope you don't look like Panda ! Carl

Bill. Nam, 1962-63' US Army, ASA. Got a 1-Y for being too tall...out grew my 2" waiver, I did not have to join, but I had just become a Citizen, so I figured it was my duty! Carl

Under Dusk to Dawn LED Solar...MPOW 8 LED. is the model I chose...there are several different manufacturers and models to chose from. Kind off like Rodger and RV's.. Blake, you be careful on Lake Conroe! Carl
-
Jim. I forgot about that one. My mind was on Manhattan.

On driver side, mine is sofa, refer and kitchen..32" deep, same depth on PS. Bed slide on DS is 32", dresser slide is 16".

You are correct, that's the reason, it's not in my coach. Another, is a truck stop will not allow it. I have to re fill on my trips! James and I don't have that problem on the P/Up's. Original tank and a 51 gal. in bed = 1,400 miles. We got a 2,000 gal. tank by the barn and 3-200 gal. bladders in the fields. That's in Gregg/Smith County. We got the same set up in Hill County that is currently been sold to a gravel company, that took a 30 year contract on 3 sections! Life in the slow lane. Carl

Joe. Lift up the carpet on your living room slide and use a flash light, I think you'll find that both are the same. Also, is your 2 slides hydraulic or electric? Hydraulic will lift up at an angle before leveling off and then come in flat. I have both, the electric slides don't have much weight on them...LR is J sofa and dinette. BR is a dresser and TV. Carl

Bill. Your correct, it's on the books, but I have never heard of anyone being stopped for a fuel sample ! We run the red all the time in our ranch trucks and tractors. Granted, I would not do it in a DP due to other issues, than risking being checked.

LOL, sort off what I thought. I would get a nice quiet park in Conn and take public transportation. Sorry, but no way this coach is going into NYC ! Carl
-
ObedB. LOL. Herman. I agree! Problem is, we are being left behind, by high tech and 7 year olds! Carl
-
I wish you all a happy and safe Independence week end and day. To all our Veterans, past and current...A Big Thank You ! Carl

Follow up. I found it on Amazon. It's self contained, water proof and stick on. Has 3 settings for low, medium and bright, 8 LED's and cost $11.99 each with free shipping. I wanted the motion light, but at the same time I don't want to annoy or blind my fellow campers. I use Malibu lights for the flag. Thanks for your input. Happy pre Independence day weekend & stay safe! Carl
