  1. Floorit. The original question is laying down wood flooring and with or without vapor barrier. That has been answered. All the rest is TMI. Carl
  2. My renewal will be 11-7-2015. Just got my License plate renewal $ 752, that's a real bummer! Carl
  3. If I lived on the Cape or most other small areas of New England, I would also have a coach less than 36 foot. Province town or Wellfleet is not for the faint of heart. I don't normally take mine to the house, due to small, narrow roads in my subdivision. However, I put on 13-15,000 miles a year and I would not trade the ride for anything! I only ran across one RV park this year, that I was too big for, in Eugene, OR. Also, I fuel up (150 gal.) in truck stops. Good Luck & Happy New Year! Carl
  4. Ladder mount has worked for me. Also, have 2 suction cups with "S" hooks for mounting on inside of front window when parked! Carl
  5. I had Progressive and got Blue Sky in November...saved me over $ 800 on same coverage (Blue Sky don't have TV Commercials) I got tired of paying for Flo! My Toad is with USAA. Carl
  6. Vapor barrier may not be a requirement, but it wouldn't hurt, since the coach moves and spills happen. Quite often you bring in moisture with the slides or you have a high humidity environment. Happy New Year! Carl
  7. Vettehead, What make and year coach do you have? One of your concerns is getting the height right or you'll have problems with your slide-outs! Herman has a valid point. Please keep sharing.
  8. American Coach is also owned by ASV and built in Decatur, Indiana. I took a gamble on a used 2010 Tradition and fell that it paid off. After looking at the new Tradition, Eagle and Heritage in Redmond, I agree with Ray. The new ones offer a lot of fluff, but not much else for the price and there is not enough difference in the models for me to want a new one. Also, I'm not a big fan of DEF, my engine is a 09 on a 09 chassis....my 10 came out in Jan. of 2010.
  9. LOL...perhaps you should take Herman's advise! 1/2 a 5mg Valium should keep him "happy" !
  10. Roy, FMCA offers them. That is all we had available until they also offered vinyl.
  11. Happy New Year, y'all! Having read nothing further about Tuffy, I guess it's enjoying the ride south!!
  12. Black Ranch RV Park also has a truck stop and restaurant. The only problem with 95 is mostly a one lane road with dips! I prefer Toms route. I take Hwy. 285 whenever I go to Ruidoso, NM...I-10W to Ft. Stockton. Have been on every other road in Texas and that is the best and fastest way from San Antonio or Houston! Have a safe New Year!
  13. LOL. I got the metal, all I need is a little touch up paint.
  14. Texas. Class B license if your over 26,001 and towing 10,000 pounds or less. Class A license if your over 26,001 and towing 10,000 pounds or more. This is for RV's per DMV web site in Austin. My renewal is in Feb. and I will get a AM (motorcycle endorsement) just in case I take all my toys with me! Have a safe New Year and keep the rubber side down! Carl C.
  15. On several occasions I have replied to a post and it never shows up! Just now replied to Ray on Tuffy the cat...what gives? Carl
  16. Ray, Tuffy looks dead to me! Good luck & Happy New Year Carl
  17. Elgin, In the day before slide outs, bunk beds was a norm but they where longer...I used to be over 6' 9" and had no problems. Today, the only one I know off that offer bunks is Sportcoach. Good hunting and Merry Christmas! Carl
  18. I would go with cmarq suggestion first. 20K is a lot off $$$ and no matter what any one thinks or think they know, you have to tear into it and find out for sure what the damage is...therefor I would like to have a Cummins factory rep on hand! I took my coach in for service at Cummins in East Houston, Texas last month and got an extended 5 year/100,000 warranty from Cummins, not cheap, but I sleep better at night! Join the Cummins Power Club...it more than pays for itself the first time you use it!!! Carl
  19. Wish you all a wonderful Christmas and a Healthy, Happy, Safe New Year!
  20. I agree with Tim and Bill. I have always seen a use for the rear camera, but a dash one would just be another distraction for me. Just as I have no use for side cameras. I have learned that my side mirrors, give me more input than a camera does. Also, by disabling the side cameras I always have a clear view off my rear and know when it's safe to return to my lane after passing. I do admit that GoPro was and is the best stock I ever bought.... Have a great Thanksgiving!
  21. Bill, I was thinking the same thing! I also carry a lot off adaptors, 50/30, 50/50, 30/15. I found a 50/50 at my local Wall Mart yesterday and it has a 14 inch cable...never seen one before, novel idea! Plug into power pal, then post...space problem solved.
  22. There are some paved roads that you never want to attempt in a RV, between Carolina and TN or KY....Hwy. 129 comes to mine! Also the Banjo Hwy!
  23. Your dead on, fly and rent, then take the ferry or a cruise back south!!! The second mouse, gets the cheese!
  24. Ray, I was also plugged in at Redmond and did use the portable. After Redmond, my coach lived in a RV park in Portland while I did a 14 day cruise to Alaska. The electric box was about 6" off grass! Had the same problem in Ogden, Utah...Dolores, CO., Birmingham, AL. and Galax, Virginia! That's just a few...Now, having said that, I will not know if the Power Pal will fit any better. I will let you all know!
  25. Welcome to the forum! Capillary action, I would look up. Blake wood is a sign of mold...not a DIY job! Take the unit to a Dealer, back where you bought it would be best, unless it was a non-dealer sale or Camping World....
