  1. Good idea, thanks. I will take a better look tonight to see how I can squeak it in.
  2. OSCARPOWER, I was in Bangor ME June 3rd last year for work (not far from Acadia) and it was 36 degrees. Could have been a freak thing but it was not comfortable. check future weather planning when it gets closer, this year is a much different year than last with regards to the temps, maybe it will be a good year for that. We are headed up in July to play it safe.
  3. HA, she was doing that for a while, now she opens the window and asks if it's ok to open the slides and if she is going to hit anything. I have three bays under the kitchen slide, two pass through and the fuel/propane bay behind the steer axle and my doors lift up so you must crawl under the door to gain access. I often think how much I would have preferred swing doors on the bays.
  4. Puff, the back is and I quote "easley removed" yea my gut tells me the neighbors will hear me. lol thanks Puff! joe
  5. Just ordered the final piece of interior for the "new to us" coach we bought in May 2014. The unit came missing the J Lounge that was directly behind the passenger seat. From the spec sheet it was a power flip with a bed under it that replaced the normal 40PKD wrap around desk. My guess is it was a special order from the original owner to delete the wrap around desk and replace with the J lounge. Apparently they liked it so much they took it with them . When we bought the unit I removed the buffet and repositioned the table and discarded the loose chairs. I replaced it with a leather dinette booth (with seat belts only on the side facing forward) utilizing the existing Corian table. I purchased double recliners that will match the leather pattern on the dinette booth. My interior color is "Cream" not the one in the photo. I got talked into heated seating with back massagers, lock in tables (that are removable) for each seat and LED reading lamps that lock into the tables....DW and kids idea. I gave up my used search for the last 1.5 years and bit the bullet. I also ordered it with a seat belt kit for both seating positions. Both interior changes came from the place linked below and are designed for motorhomes (people can ride on the seating while the coach is in use). Once installed I will try and attach photos, these are a month and a half out. Link: http://shop4seats.com/rv-furniture/sofa-beds/double-recliners/de-leon-double-recliner.html
  6. Herman, mine was so bad I had a vinyl nose bra made to cover it up. I am still going to remove it....or at least I think I am anyway. This is the type of work I dread, so I enlisted a friend that needs his used coach serviced to do the work on mine, since he is in the automotive body/paint industry I thought it was a fair trade off.
  7. These guys also have motorhomes with multi bunk options: http://www.staleycoach.com/
  8. Kay, if you get bored and you are up this way please let me know. Always travel with Wine and Cheese, Beer (for me) and whatever Rum or Vodka drink the DW is in the mood for that week, lol
  9. I will have to remove the panel and see what's behind it, never thought of that. thanks
  10. Nice job Puff! Funny, If I didn't know better I would think you owned my coach prior to me. My sewer hose is stored the same way above the propane tank, the previous owner mounted two sewer hose storage tubes with caps on the back side (so the hose doesn't fall out the other end). I just slide the hose in and the end will rest on the cross bar for the propane tank pointed at the ground. there is also a home made shelf (open grate) for couplers in the same compartment. I still use one of those slinky things for hose support, I do like your idea much better. I am in need of a better way to store my fresh hose. I have Camco quick connects on it now so I snap into the regulator, snap into the filter (it sits on a stand) and snap onto the hose that connects to the coach. the problem in my water supply bay has very little storage space and the hose rolled up connected to itself still doesn't fit.
  11. Mike, did you work in Valley Forge late 80's early 90's?
  12. I received my kit from WIPEOUT, I am thoroughly impressed! The kit came with safety goggles, full instructions for a do it yourself person rubber gloves all hand tools and chemicals to do the job, everything is labeled and organized and labeled in separate bags based off of each step in the removal process. Hopefully the product works as shown in their video......more to follow when it warms up.
  13. Steve, so what you are saying is the 3" pipe is connected to the tank that is plumbed to the Grey tank? My guess is you noticed this when the 1.5" kept clogging with sewage?
  14. Since we are on this topic, both of my roof tops have drain tubes that go to the ground. I have what appears to be filters on the bottom of those tubes, over the years some broke and the previous owner wrapped a piece of screen door screen around the tubes and zip tied them. What's is the thought behind the screen of filter? My guess is keep bugs out?
  15. Blake, Good advice. I also do the same when we stop, never thought to pass it on someone new to this might not think of it. I also always do a pretrip inspection on the coach and toad prior to pulling away from the house. Glad you found that pin before your Dodge found you,
  16. Rich, no long trips that he told me about anyway in the near future, no short ones planned until late March. The unit was purchased in Louisiana and it is a 2005 with 65,000 miles on it. He purchased it from an RV dealer, although they do not appear to be a Tiffin dealer they do carry new DP's of other lines. Now if they service them or not is always a crap shoot and it was purchased as-is. Probably worth a phone call at a minimum. I guess its the old "buyer beware".
  17. Bill, agreed! I will admit I felt better when I saw one installed by Fleetwood when the coach was built and the dealer explained to me that this is the way of the future and then again when so many made the change on here to existing units. You are correct ours only runs a lot on the initial cool down, and not often after to maintain a cold box even in the hottest of days last summer. I have made no changes to the amount of batteries or inverter on our coach. It all seems to work just fine. 4, 6volt batteries and 1, 2000 watt inverter. My net gain was frozen or properly chilled food and $2700.00 I saved on replacing the existing unit.
  18. Brett, thanks for the link and I agree after digesting it a bit more. I changed my coolant last year with the same 50/50 premixed Fleetguard product but all of my levels were perfect (just a PM for me). I rigged up a air nozzle with a regulator and a gauge and blew out the heater hoses through the Aquahot and back and used a vacuum fill tool to fill the system so there was no air pockets, your statement was dead on, it was a project. I was considering the same for this coach but I need to be sure as much of this is out as possible. I also have the Cummins Cooling system flush two stage flush product in stock https://www.cumminsfiltration.com/pdfs/product_lit/emea_brochures/LI33024-GB.pdf. I keep this on hand for all of the Powerstroke diesels when the oil cooler fails and introduces Motor oil into the cooling system. I have considered running this through the system but if the system is weak this could make it worse. He has no Aquahot system, just hoses up to the front for dash heat, do you think blowing it all out replacing the Thermostats and water pump would suffice? I asked how it performed while driving since it was bought in LA and drove up to PA, didn't run hot or leak....yet that is.
  19. Rich, thank you for the info. Do you know if the ISL equipped chassis is set up the same? I will be changing my friends coolant, coolant filter and fuel filters this weekend on his Tiffin. If the NE weather is tolerable (too big to fit into my garage). I had him test his coolant on his new to him coach. Wow it amazes me how some people and dealers miss the basics. Check this out; Chassis engine coolant; PH, 6.5 freeze point, -10 Nitrate, 800-1200 Generator coolant PH, 7 Freeze point, -34 Nitrate, 200-500 My guess is the coolant filter is the original (cant see it in the tight engine bay), the fuel filters look like it (the two in the engine bay). When I saw the PH I flipped and called Cummins for their coolant recommendation on the ISL and Genset (2004 MY). They recommended Fleetguard ES Compleat (blue label) which is ethylene Glycol based pre mixed. The best is this was "Just serviced turn key ready to go".
  20. George, I was thinking the same. I drove a CNG powered road tractor a few weeks back, I had two large tanks under me right out along both sides of the tractor and a back pack behind the cab with 5 large tanks with a total of 180 ish gallons of CNG right out in the open. Don't over shoot the fifth wheel when connecting and punch the back pack, LOL. I felt like if I got hit by a guy on a bicycle I was going to level a small town . That 55 gallon tank buried up under my coach is the last thing on my mind. I only ever shut the propane off is when I am fueling up the diesel or propane and prior to entering a tunnel on a highway (the toll booth person is always kind enough to remind you just in case you forget like the Chesapeake Bay Bridge toll takers (even with EZ pass you are still greeted by them).
  21. dobelbower, I called Aquahot on this a few months ago, my concern was the antifreeze coking up in the burner from the heat with no circulation. They told me it was designed to handle this and not to worry about it.
  22. Thanks Jim! I will start to put it into 5th just in case the transfer case would bounce into gear I won't over speed the engine.

    Transfer Switch

I use the "KISS" theory daily. Funny you mentioned it
  24. Yes, I agree with Herman, that was interesting to read. The things we don't think about on this side of the lake. Thanks Tom!
