  1. As soon as I can find some heat shrink I am going to do that. I looked all over my shop and didn't have any large enough.
  2. This is my lithium battery install. Used 1/4 x 1 inch copper bars. These batteries have the same footprint as a golf cart battery.
  3. Once the air is out of the bag the bump stop in the bag will limit the travel. The frame will not drop any further unless a tire goes flat.
  4. Is the cranking reset button a circuit breaker? If so test it for current load or try another one. Years ago I was a Kohler dealer but my techs did the work so my experience its limited.
  5. Since my previous post Jan 30 I have changed my 6 AGMs for 4 100 amp Battle Born lithium batteries. I reset the charging parameters on the Xantrex SW 3012 and the Renogy 40 amp MPPT charge controller. The performance is outstanding. Full charge last at least twice as long and it takes about half the time to recharge.
  6. Be sure to use purified water in the mister, if you don't the radiator will clog with minerals. I had that experience back in the 70s with water injection in the carburetor and on the radiator on the Dodge M series chassis and 440-3 engine.
  7. We are ocean lovers also. Been to a lot of beaches with the motorhome from Key West to Bay of Fundy to Alaska to Padre Island and all along the west coast. Been to Hawaii over 30 times. In the last 5 years been cruising to places where you can't drive a motorhome. 30 days to Tahiti, 49 days to the Mediterranean, 83 days to Russia, Asia, Australia, Fiji. Next January going for 77 days around South America and Antarctic. Lots to see and do.
  8. Back in the 70s we traveled all 48 states at least once and many of them 2 or more times in 3 1/2 years. This was during the summer as I was teaching then. Lots to see and do. We used to write to the states we were going to and most of them sent us maps and brochures on things to see and do.
  9. No sales tax on used vehicles if purchased from a private party. Bought dozens of vehicles over the years.
  10. If you are in Az and its used, you buy from a private party there is not sales tax due. This is for any vehicle. Trailers have a perm plate and a one time fee.
  11. This type of construction seems to be more prevalent on trailers than motorhomes.
  12. Seems to me I recall that I set my AGMs to flooded but its been several years ago. I just installed lithium batteries and set up the charging on both the MPPT controller and the Xantrex SW 3000 according to the respective tech support. Set charge voltages for each mode.
  13. Alcoa is a company. Wheels is just a very small part of the things they manufacture.
  14. My inner duals are machined Alcoa, I like the trueness of aluminum over the steel. My spare is also machined Alcoa. Of course the sides that show are polished.
  15. All my tires are the same size. I located the spare, 235/80 22.5 mounted on an Alcoa, under the propane tank, right side second compartment from the rear. I mounted an electric winch on a framework just under the propane tank and it picks the tire off the ground up to the mount studs. I also have a Tire Minder transmitter on the spare as well as the spare on my Silverado 1500 I tow.
  16. Exactly. I haven't been able to walk right for the last year and a half but can still hobble around and use a walker or electric wheel chair. 2 weeks ago I pulled both outer duals off to change the stems to shorter ones so I wouldn't have to reach through the 2 inch hole to screw on the tpms transmitter. It took me much longer than it would have some time ago but it was doable. If I have to change a tire on the road I think I could still do it or find someone to help me since I have all the tools and spare to do the job.
  17. Thats the reason I always carry a spare with the tools to change it. I've never been without a spare in 400K miles 44 years and 10 motorhomes.
  18. What you describe is the way they are doing it now. I have Directv and I just have Phoenix as the local channels which I have to be in Az or close by {Las Vegas} to receive them. When I'm everywhere else I try to get the local channels on the over the air antenna.
  19. I had Mikes custom painting do my 98 Discovery 2 years ago. He's located in Bremen Indiana. He does it for less money than most, $14k.
  20. The control panel will be different.
  21. Be sure to use an inline drier to keep moisture out.
  22. The engine air compressor is always in use when the engine is running. It has to keep the air system up at all times for the suspension and brakes. Using it to fill tires or power an air wrench is not a problem.
  23. I have changed the stem on the outer dual wheel to a short stem slightly bent which gives me straight on access for the clip on.
