  1. The placard is not necessarily the proper pressure based on actual weight. Weigh, check charts for your tires, inflate while cold to the pressure you found on the chart. Two manufacturers have told me to add ten pounds for safety.
  2. Adjust pressure before driving at coldest temperature. IE: I use 107# for all tires. Do not decrease pressure through the day. Adjust again the next morning, cold.
  3. While it is best to download and read the whole FMCAssist policy in member benefits, I think the FMCA membership is limited to two persons. Additional coverage for dependents is stated in the policy. You do not have to be in your RV, but you must be 75 miles from home. Full timers are always 75 miles from home. Keep in mind this insurance is worldwide except for return of vehicles. It does not matter who is listed first on the FMCA membership, but both need to be listed. If multiple people own the RV, I think the 1/3 ownership condition applies. But each third would have to have separate membership number. Or 1/2 ownership would require two membership numbers.
  4. Many members don’t know all the approaches that FMCA does or has tried. The question was who to contact which I answered. If they don’t want to contact Dan Ball then try President Jon Walker at jwalker@fmca.com.
  5. You might contact Dan Ball, Director of Membership and Marketing, email address: dball@fmca.com or phone: 513-388-5319.
  6. No, Sam’s Clubs are not free to FMCA members, but they do offer a discount to FMCA members periodically. Usually, see a coupon in the December issue of Family RVing if they offer it that year. Totally a marketing decision of Sam’s Clubs. Good Sam is totally different RVers club, and they don’t offer a discount for Sam’s Clubs either. Sam’s Clubs are a division of Walmart.
  7. Yes, top unscrews, but first drain some water out of softener. Open top pour in 2 pounds of salt. You may need to pour in a little water to help salt to go down. Seal top and trickle out a little water. I taste the water. When it gets salty, turn off water and let it sit 30 minutes or so. Trickle in more water for about 20 minutes. Should not taste salty. If it does, trickle some more water. Then connect to RV and you are good for a month or more depending on your usage. We have a washer, so about a month is about the duration.
  8. Mine looks like it is an older model made by same manufacturer. I don’t see why it wouldn’t serve you well for many years. I wouldn’t recommend the one that is about half the diameter of that size.
  9. You probably will not get anyone today, Saturday. But I would call FMCA, Monday morning about 8:30EST or after and ask for Dan Wulfeck. He is the one I have talked to. I have both the Verizon and Sprint. Both work very well if there is coverage. Don’t go by cell phone coverage. Use an app to actually measure speed. Consistently, Verizon is double or more than Sprint and service coverage is better for Verizon. But I have found a couple of locations on or trip from Indiana to Arizona where Sprint exceeded Verizon. Just depends on where you are.
  10. Yes, but not Melanie, John and Lynn. All are in Indiana.
  11. I did the same, but asked for last name Boyer in state of Indiana. I know there are at least two. Didn’t find any.
  12. Not working for me. I have logged out several times. After logging back in and going to membership and selecting Dashboard, all I get is Stopping Spots etc. I don’t get to where I can search for any member.
  13. I just searched Amazon for RV Water Softener. Mine is listed, but there are several. Suggest you select one of the 16,000 grain units. The smaller ones will require 1 pound of salt to recharge. The larger will require 2 pounds of salt. We have a washer, so we like the larger unit. We have had the smaller unit without a washer. Both of ours needed recharged 3-1/2 to 4 weeks. Use only salt without iodine.
  14. All that have a voucher were sent an email stating that there will be a window for early registration for Perry for those that have a voucher.
  15. OK, now I understand your question. Before retirement, I was a computer programmer and also did system support. Our shipping plant computer that controlled 5 stackers was sabotaged by taking a tool and destroying the wire wrap backplane. Also, the bundles of wires in the 5 stacker were cut. While 4 people worked on getting the stackers rewired, I reconfigured another computer and installed it in place if the one destroyed. I had to get the source code and rewrite the software. First day was 27 hours, 4 hours sleep, 18 hours, 6 hours sleep and 16 more hours. The others finished the stackers and the program operated the stackers in manual mode. We ordered a Real Time Clock module that took a week to receive. Installed and system went automatic. The above and several other experiences give me insight to the task required to change over computer systems.
  16. P&P Committee, but I don’t understand your second question. I just don’t understand why some on this forum bash FMCA. I am reminded of one axiom of dealing with people. “Praise in public, criticize in private.” This forum is not private.
  17. They can handle accounts receivable and payable. Having been through 5 major system changes and one computer sabotage that was costing the company a million a day in lost shipments, I think FMCA’s IT staff is doing all they can. It is time to quit complaining and start praising.
  18. The number did change: 877-352-0785 in USA 877–350-3532 in Canada 1-202-659-7803 international collect Plan #: 01AH585 Organization: FMCA Policy #: 9908-76-26 Assistance Provider: Europ Assistance USA Suggest you download and print the complete information.
  19. This is not just a server change. There will be a complete new software system to run the operations of FMCA. While some companies may have the luxury to run parallel systems to debug, test and bring on line, FMCA does not have the resources to do that. Hopefully, we the members don’t bother the Staff excessively while they work on our behalf. There are only 3 IT Staff if I remember correctly to do this change. Praise them. Let’s not jump to criticize.
  20. I have not been on I-40 from Nashville to Oklahoma City in many years, but have been many times from Oklahoma City to Flagstaff. There is a city park/campground at Sayre, Ok 20 mikes east of Texas. Reasonable 50amp pull thru sites. Old town in Albuquerque maybe worth a visit, but parking for your large MH is difficult to find. Exit 107, 50 miles west of Albuquerque is Dancing Eagle Casino that has 7 pull thru full hook up sites, and they will reserve. I think the sites are $12. If full, about 10 miles west is Sky City Casino and RV park. Pricer but Good Sam park. Flagstaff has several campgrounds that are pricey. Safe travels.
  21. The change is the provider, CHUBB Group, with no change in services including same phone number. Anyone starting a claim being handled by Seven Corners will be served by Seven Corners. This is typical of changing insurance providers and was stated by the chair of the Risk Management Committee during the August Executive Board meeting. Anyone calling October 1st or after will be served by the CHUBB.
  22. You can add a charge line from the motor home to your towed.
