  1. Did you modify a 120vac fixture to be 12vdc? If so, please detail the specifications of the fixture and steps to modify.
  2. I have found when we have that problem lubricant is needed at all points of movement or a little steel wool to clean the contacts in the door frame.
  3. Once you purchase and have a need for service, make the call. According to the president of the parent company that provides this service, if you think the representative on the phone isn’t doing what you think should be done; hang up and call again. There are 2,000 services that answer the phone not all are really familiar with the services that are to be provided to you. Many don’t even know what a RV is or the different types that require different handling. That being said, be sure to read the contract; because those are the services and limits that are provided.
  4. I don’t know where you are located, but I have had 4 windshields replaced by Duncan Systems. They have a very large warehouse and installation facility in Elkhart, Indiana. 574-584-2238. They have authorized installers across the country. I had 3 installed at the warehouse and another at Perry, GA. They do many installations for various manufacturers in the Elkhart area. The only thing they asked was that I not drive out if their lot fir 3 hours to be sure the sealant set.
  5. The 2019 & 2020 Chevrolet Equinox’s needs the same. Looks like Chevrolet is standardizing on this method at least until they change.
  6. I do not have a Tiffin product, but on my motor home the engine generator charges the chassis batteries then when they are charged the house batteries are charged. So it all depends on how the manufacturer has set up the charging system. Also, if there is a battery minder, all the batteries may be charged at once, but at different charge rates.
  7. Actually, I know what was on mine. They were Monrow. Since we bought our coach used with 3,000 miles on it, I doubt that they were other than original.
  8. I use and like the Koni FSD shocks, also. Much better ride than the OEM shocks, but I don’t know know brand those were.
  9. You can opt out of receiving hard copy. I looked on the web site but didn’t find where you could opt out. You may have to call Membership Services, 513-387-5319 to request it. Eliminating the hard copy does not eliminate the FMCA Staff to produce the digital version. I am not suggesting that be done, because the magazine is valuable to communicate to all members. I receive both ways, because I use the hard copy as a recruiting tool.
  10. Probably the regulator needs to be replaced.
  11. I use Excel, but I don’t track travel locations. Primarily used to track travel expenses, maintenance and purchased items for motor home. I use to track camping fees, but I don’t do that anymore.
  12. I installed my own, but there were 64 torx screws to remove and reinstall on our 2019 Chevrolet Equinox.
  13. If you are trying turn it on and the engine is running, there is an interlock to prevent watching tv while driving.
  14. Wouldn’t say they last forever. I just replaced the grate on my baby Q and the grate, burners and igniter on my Q3000. But the parts are readily available.
  15. At 90 outside the vents in our motor home are discharging 55-58 degree air.
  16. To resolve an antenna problem, I had 3 men on my roof that were standing less than 5 feet apart to discuss the issue. They probably weighed more than 280 pounds each. So I doubt there us a problem with weight. It is more of a problem with your safety.
  17. You symptoms are similar to what I had on a previous motor home. The difference is that I would blow a small fuse that powered the computer. The problem was a bad solenoid in the transmission. We found that the same fuse while powered the computer also powered the transmission. Possibly, your wiring uses a self resetting circuit breaker.
  18. Most truck repair services have them. I think they are made by Firestone. I had one replaced by a local shop that services school buses.
  19. Really the bat wing is still the best. There is an attachment that can be added. While it will aid in bringing in distant stations, it is more directional. If you add it, you may need to aim again to receive a station that is a little off the location of your previous station. I have added it to ours and did not find it to be a problem.
  20. I think it is free for 45 minutes, but you can purchase various plans for additional time. I don’t know the cost.
  21. I would take I-65 to Nashville then I-24 to Chattanooga and then I-75. Monteagle will be down hill. Use lower gears to save brakes. Some up and downs north of Dalton. If you really want to avoid grades, take I-65 south until you can take I-10 to I-75. If I remember correctly, there is a long grade near Franklin, TN. I have done both routes in a motor home, with a travel trailer and in auto towing a utility trailer. I try to avoid I-75 in Kentucky and upper Tennessee due to all the accidents that delay traffic for hours.
