  1. I wondered about that also, so I did a little research. The numbers for all 2016 Itasca Navions are: GCWR 15,250 GVWR 11,030 Hitch Rating 5,000 Cargo Capacity 1,303 Maybe not over, but too close for comfort with 188 screaming HP and 325 ft/lbs of torque.
  2. As I have said in the past, this fiasco is all about money. FMCA needs money to finance FMCA Assist, that's the bottom line. Should we allow towables, I doubt many folks have thought about all the changes that will have to be made to accommodate them. As an example, will our magazine become Trailer Life Lite, full of articles the towables prefer? It will have to have at least some articles for "them." Then we have rallies, they don't care about seminars on Aqua Hots, air systems, big diesels, 20k to 50k chassis, Onans, full wall slides, leveling systems and more. In turn, we are not interested about learning the systems in a towable. I am not willing to dilute what we have now in order to make FMCA towable friendly. They have their own groups anyway. Also, I subscribe to Motor Home magazine...smaller than the FMCA magazine, but more pertinent information. http://www.magazine-agent.com-sub.info/MotorHome/Welcome So what is the solution? Could FMCA set up some type of insurance type program in lieu of FMCA Assist, and those interested could join and pay their own fees? I am not interested in that program, either. The other obvious solution is to cancel FMCA Assist. Thus, no need for more revenue, and therefore no need for towables in FMCA. Problem solved.
  3. Last year I had my AH serviced by an authorized AH service for $195, no tax. This was at a rally so maybe the price was reduced, but the prices noted above seem a bit high. I got what they called the ''annual service"...fuel filter and nozzle replaced, burner cleaned, it did not need any fluid..
  4. Our 09 Allegiance had Diamond Shield, after 5 1/2 years it was okay. This coach has DuraShield, no problems with it yet. Don't know what year American Coach gave up on the DS. http://durashieldppfs.com/
  5. AAA is a good company and they might have the best coverage, but there are quite a few instances of them sending a truck way too small to tow a DP and/or a driver who does not know how to prep the drive shaft for towing.
  6. I know. When we had a RF blow out the previous coach on I55 southwest of Chicago, it took them five and a half hours to find a 295. Tech said if it had been a 315, it would have taken much less time.
  7. If the tires being replaced, assuming they are OEM, can carry the load and do the job, I fail to see why folks want to change the size from what the factory put on. As noted, a change in width/height can cause the tires to rub...each other and/or the frame, change transmission shift points, change speedometer readings, etc.
  8. Yes, good question. Your post is no help if you don't tell us the results.
  9. When I look at some of the many wiring systems, and various other systems on these beasts, it's a wonder any of it works.
  10. It all depends on the cost of your MH or boat. If over a certain amount, they will refer you to Progressive. Our earlier RVs (pull behinds and 5th wheels) were insured by USAA, DPs were turned over to Progressive. They will insure the other items you mentioned.
  11. My state cracked down on all the MHs that started turning up with Montana license plates. For them, in the long run, it would have been cheaper to pay this state's outrageous sales tax and the pers property tax they add on every year.
  12. Here's a link from Truth or Fiction.com https://www.truthorfiction.com/camping-world-ceo-doesnt-want-business-trump-supporters/
  13. If the on board vacuum fails to adequately provide enough suction...check the hose about a foot behind the hose plug in/starter. Ours had a kink in it.
  14. We've only used our AH once on the road once also. Left home heading south in Jan, 8 degrees, wind blowing hard. Carl...are you sure you are that heavy? My Eagle 45' is 49k GVWR...maybe that 54k includes the toad?
  15. Bought it at a rally, then took a 2,400 mile trip, then installed it. So, bottom line, I haven't used it yet. It is a Patriot II, supposed to be an improved version. The only thing permanently attached to toad is the break away sensor (one small bolt) and the wire leading from the break away sensor to the driver's compartment. Also, the remote control in the coach has seven sensing levels and a manual "on" switch.
  16. Your Aqua Hot will not burn any diesel unless the burner is on...which it does not need to be on unless very very cold outside. When on it burns 0.4 GPH.
  17. When I first had a problem with my charging system, I call the tech line. The gave me the impression that all ACs were wired like mine.
  18. Do you have electric or hydraulic power steering?
  19. Carl...The way my batteries are wired, once the charge from the inv/charger reaches 13.3 v, the system allows the charge to go through the house batteries and charge the chassis batteries. As long as the charge rate stays at 13.3 v or higher, it will continue to charge the chassis batteries.
  20. The disadvantage of M & G is you have to hook up an air line between vehicles. I have a Blue Ox Patriot II, it's a new system. Very easy to move if I change tow vehicles.
  21. Our 09 Allegiance used any version of Propylene Glycol...not any more for the newer models.
  22. ....and a headwind, which, IMHO, is the worse detriment to increased MPG.
  23. The American Coach Eagle has an escape door as an option. When you see it in the coach, it's street side in the rear, it looks like a row of shelves for knick knacks. But those shelves are the steps if you have to use it.
