  1. Even in my basement with the slider, I use an old mop handle with a hook screwed in the end...it's easier than the slider.
  2. My coach has an electric engine preheat not associated with the AH. I set a standard timer so it comes on about four hours prior to leaving. You might have one too. Mine is in the basement compartment where the power cord is located.

    Slide Supports

I would not even consider slide supports. Think about what would happen if you have your slides supported and you have a flat tire. The coach settles, but the slides are held in place by the support. Even with jacks out, you could have major damage.
  4. I agree with Rich's comment about doing nothing while under warranty. Then the first thing I would check is if the transmission can take any extra HP and/or torque. I must ask though, you just bought a brand new 2014 MH...why even consider adding more power? If there was a power issue, why not get a larger MH/engine?
  5. Sedona then Flagstaff is how I'd go...then I 40...forever...
  6. Sometime my two front jacks do the opposite of the OP's. After everything is level and the PG panel and engine are shut off, the front two jacks will come up about 2".
  7. We have Diamond Shield Protective Mask on the front of our MH, doing fine so far: www.diamond-shield.com/index.cfm
  8. Tony28...Don't forget that in these forums we talk about problems, things that need to get fixed. Somebody makes a post saying his slide won't move...a problem. But you don't hear from the thousands of other RVers whose slide is working fine...nobody gets on and makes a post, "my slide worked fine today."
  9. RVs are in one of the following three conditions: - It just broke. - You just fixed it. - It's getting ready to break.

    Fuel Mileage

    huffypuff...read post #16.
  11. I can't see where waxing or treating just the outside 18" or 2' of the roof is going to stop any white run off. When it rains, the untreated part of the roof is subject to the rain and will run off...right over the treated part and down the sides.
  12. Here are the answers to your questions, in order: 1. Never, refuses to drive it and will not even consider driving it. 2. See #1. 3. See #1. As for a relative, non relative instructor, it depends on the personalities of those receiving the instruction. I think it's good for the ladies to drive. My suggestion to my D/W was to try on a nice stretch of interstate with little traffic...see #1.
  13. I use Rejex on the front and windshield and Nu Finish for the rest of the body...NF is what I use on all my vehicles.
  14. To each his own, but I have one and don't like it. It costs lots of vertical space and if I pull out one side, it knocks items off the other side...plus heavy and expensive.
  15. You might send PG an email, they are very responsive.
  16. We researched a number of companies offering extended warranties. For the amount of money they wanted, with a deductible, we opted not to get one. The premium they wanted would pay for lots of repairs.
  17. Your tires, your choice, but I like to keep OEM size tires on my coach. Changing the size of your tires normally results in slightly different speedometer readings and transmission shift change points.
  18. I don't want to jinx myself, but my AH has worked perfectly for over three years.
  19. Yes and yes. And, if it's cold but not too cold, you can run the furnace going down the road using engine heat.

    Fuel Mileage

When I adust my fuel mileage for fuel used by the generator, the Aqua Hot and when idling, my computer is right on.
  21. We always take the tow car with us. How will you get to Wally World... pack up and take the MH? How will you tour the local area? What if the MH breaks down?
  22. Gas Buddy is a good idea. We avoid the national chains like Pilot/Flying J/Loves, etc. It's been my experience that they are very crowded, noisy, dirty and a general PITA to attempt to refuel with numerous trips inside to stand in line, give them the CC, refuel, back in line to pick up the card and sign the ticket. They advertise getting a card with them and all the money you'll save...but their "sale" price is usually what the normal price is at the regular stations. As for Murphy/Wally World, that's where I always refuel at home. I don't have the toad with me and do it on Sunday morning when there is no traffic and I can get a pump near the entrance so entering and exiting is no problem. Also, if you get a WM gift card, they take another dime of the already low price.
  23. It is uncommon to have an algae problem providing the tank is reasonably clean, full and treated with a biocide. I used Valvtect in my boat and now in the MH. It, and other biocides can be found at most marine stores...our Wal Mart carries Sea Foam.
