  1. It seems to me Honda should do some kind of analysis of the transmission to determine the cause of the failure before assessing blame. Weve been driving Honda products for decades and have never had a warranty issue with them.
  2. You said that you are looking at a Phaeton 36 GH, but you did not say which FW you are considering. There are four different models of FW.
  3. Same here. The MSRP is over $1,000, I'm going to put it on Craig's list.
  4. Not to high jack the thread, but since the topic is entering Canada, if you carry liquor, check the laws for the amount you can take into Canada.
  5. I have the same problem with my driveway. After trying different angles of approach and boards of various sizes, I gave up and just don't bring the MH to the house any more. Fortunately where I store it has water and power, so the only real inconvenience is hauling our stuff to and from when making a trip.
  6. Some of the white paint on my roof runs down the sides...looks bad and is hard to remove. Does anybody know if any of the paints noted above run?
  7. The Aqua Hot is a wonderful system. I would certainly not rule a coach out because it was AH equipped. In fact, if we were to get another coach, the AH would be in the "must have" category.
  8. We've had a 5th wheel also. In addition to the other comments, travelling in a MH is much more pleasant than in a truck. We have flexsteel chairs that adjust in all directions (as well as adjustable arm rests and are heated). Also, the steering wheel is adjustable as are the pedals.
  9. Saw this definition of an RVer on another forum: "A guy with a $500,000 MH looking for a free place to camp."

    Vicksburg MS

We used to stay at Ameristar. However, after two separate multi day stays we were double billed, and it took quite a while to get refunded the over payment. Plus, in many of their spaces it is hard to get level. We now stay in Clinton, MS, about eight miles west of Jackson, at Springridge RV Park. Close to I 20, easy off and on. www.springridgemhp.com
  11. Will it affect the speedometer or Allison shift points?
  12. Our AC has the entire kitchen on a slide...stove, sink and refer...no problems at all.
  13. PG will email you any publication you need...you have to request it from them in an email, they won't talk to you on the phone unless you are a dealer.
  14. When climbing the mountains be prepared for the V10 to be screaming at high RPM...won't hurt it...just loud.
  15. If you absolutey must have a 4wd, get a Jeep. If you want good all around reliable, versatile and economical transportation, get a CRV.
  16. After researching EWs and pricing them, we decided not to get one. At the cost of some of those annual premiums, you could pay a lot of out of pocket expenses.

    K & N Air Filters

When Cummins says don't use something...I don't use it.
  18. I treat my Diamond Shield like the rest of the coach. It gets washed and waxed along with everything else...looks fine.

    New Diesel Owner

I binged "wordforce diesel" and "workforce diesel" nothing came up for either one.
  20. I had a brand new pickup sitting next to my house. Went out and it would start, but would only idle, no matter what I did to the accelerator. Called the dealer, they came and put it on a trailer and took it to the shop. About an hour later, they called...squirrels had gotten in a chewed up a bunch of wiring.
  21. The Camry is a great car, but no longer fits your needs. Sell the Camry and get a Honda CRV...towable four down, light, reliable, and economical.
  22. Also, on this subject, my Spartan manual says the weight on one side of the axle should be within 5% of the weight of the other side of the axle.
  23. I'm just an old fashioned guy, who sticks with what is tried and true and has worked in the past, and hates anything new or anything that's changed. Might not be good reasons, but that's why I'd want a Cummins. I did get on the MaxxForce web site and looked for a dealer/repair shop...none within 150 miles of me. Good luck with your choice.
  24. 303 is good stuff and I put in on my tires since it has no petroleum products. However, I use regular wax on the body. 303 states it should be applied every three to five weeks...that's way to often to put anything on the entire MH.
  25. Compute your tow rating to see if towing a Class B is possible...it is the lowest of: 1. GCWR minus the actual weight of the tow vehicle when ready to tow. 2. Hitch tow rating. 3. Coach tow rating. 4. Chassis tow rating.
