Call GM...they should know for sure...hopefully. -
I read somewhere that boondocking had only one requirement.. no shore power.

Agree for the engine oil. However, you can test the trans oil, and if okay, extend the change intervals.
-
My thought exactly when I read the subject. Boondocking with power is an oxymoron.

Like Brett, we are long time sailors, both open water and inland, and apply some sailing parameters to MHing. If, when boating, we'd check the weather and say, "maybe we shouldn't go." The decision was made...we didn't go. We apply that same logic to the MH. And, to use an aviation analogy...better to be on the ground wishing you were in the air, than in the air wishing you were on the ground.

Very true, I'd never use a power washer on anything with decals.

We tow our CRV with a Blue Ox. Don't know if it's the "best" but it has worked fine for us.
-
If this is true, that would scare me off.

If you want to bring the fiberglass back, check with a marine store, they have many good products to restore the finish.

One thing to consider if going to 8D batteries...they are very big/heavy/expensive.

As the others have noted, that's the purpose for which the jacks are intended to be used.

38ft Fleetwood Expedition Needs To Be Towed

I'd double check with Allison prior to doing anything. -
If the tanks are properly installed and properly vented there will be no odor in the coach. The only thing all these additives do is provide revenue for the makers.

Several folks on another forum have recommended Rejex. I ordered some and have put on two coats on the front only...now to see if it works. They claim easy on, easy off, that part is true. http://www.rejex.com/

Are Tire Covers Needed When Motorhome is Parked in Shade?
five replied to geraldlanc's topic in Tires
I have GY RV tires and they say the tires are treated for protection against damage the sun can cause and covers are not necessary. All that is fine, but I use the covers anyway. Sitting out in the sun can't be good for them and the covers certainly can't hurt. -
In case you haven't already done this, take lots of pictures and make a wire diagram of what wire goes where.

Dometic Refrigerator-- Problem on 120 VAC

Rich...what is your secret, how do you track down those manuals...I'd like to have them for my coach? -
I have never understood why people put their names and addresses on their coaches. "Joe and Sally Smith, from Upper Salt Flats, Idaho." Anybody cruising the park now knows Joe and Sally aren't home, and if it's a small town, their house would be easy to find...and maybe empty. I maybe wrong, but I think you need a password to get into the membership directory of FMCA.

Same here. The hardest part was finding the thread. Finally found it at a cloth shop.

I sat in my MH and watched a big 5th wheel pull through a tight space across from us, back up, jockey around, and pull through again. I almost went out and asked if he'd like a ground guide. When satisfied, the driver got out, then the passenger got out, then the back door opened and three big teenagers got out! I'm glad I stayed inside.

The date is dated Jan 2009. Since that time American Coach is no longer using Spartan, but a new model Freightliner. Follow the money...IMHO.

Diesel Fuel Spilling Out Filler Tube Hours After Fueling
five replied to sterlinglimos's topic in Chassis
Sometimes when I refuel then park the MH (and it gets really hot), I get some fuel coming out the overflow tube under the tank, but not out the filler tubes. Usually only a quart or so comes out...I catch in in a can. -
I have done all my vehicles for years. As yet I have not done the MH because I have not acquired the 'stuff' necessary to take care of 28 quarts of oil. I currently take the MH and the new oil/filter to a Mom and Pop diesel shop. For $65 they change oil/filter, dispose of the oil/filter and lube the chassis.

My ISL runs right around 200 all the time. Crossing the Rockies it went to 207.
