I did forget to ask if you have a filter for the Ice Maker? If so it to may be clogged also. Just grasping as straws. Herman

Switch Wiring 93 Monaco Dynasty, Roadmaster...
hermanmullins replied to aquarianagecoming's topic in Type A motorhomes
Sorry Doug you are way over my head with this. Maybe Rich can help. Herman -
Sorry, I see that you changed the filters. Can you take the directions used to winterize and back track and see if you missed a valve or two in the process. Herman
-
Welcome to the Forum. When you winterize the RV did you remove all filters? Herman

Roland, Is there some way you can take some pictures of what is happening so to better understand what you situation is? There are several solutions that may help but not until we know what the issue looks like. Thanks, Herman

electrical system shuts down when not on shore power or gen.

John, It may be your ATS(Automatic Transfer Switch). Herman -
They appear to be a reputable dealer, as with any dealer you will only hear what they did wrong but that is seldom either way. Herman

Most likely only the dash air vents. (I guess). Herman

House generator not picking up the load.
hermanmullins replied to paulmadrid2's topic in Type A motorhomes
On my 7500 Onan the Circuit Breaker is on the start run panel on the drivers side of the Generator it is a 30 amp breaker and in clear sight, you can't miss it. Off subject, I just serviced my generator. Oil filter, fuel filter, air cleaner and coolant. I would do all over anytime with the exception of the coolant. That is one difficult job. After draining the old coolant, very easy, you have to find the fill neck, which by the way is below the top level of the radiator. However it can be maneuvered so as to be higher then the top of the radiator. It takes 4 quart of coolant, I used Fleet Guard EL (1,000,000 miles) coolant. You have to put in a bit and wait about a hour for it to seep down then repeat till you think it is full. Run the generator which after about 5 minutes cuts off due to over heating. Repeat adding a bit at a time an so on. Need less to say I got it done but it took the better part of 2 days. (Best Left up to the Pros) -
Some folks would rather complain openly them to discuss it with some one who might be able to find a solution. Since Gillette I am now on the Executive Board and Plates are one on the items on my list for discussions. By the may, WELCOME to the Forum! Herman

JT, Welcome to the Forum. If you are talking about a window shade there are several. Magne Shade, magneshade.com and ShadePro, shadepro.net, either are good FMCA Commercial member. Herman

What you have is a bad check valve in your pump. Most of the time it is damaged when there is extremely high water pressure. It is expensive to replace a pump ever time you blow a check valve. The best thing you can do is go to your home improvement store and by a check valve and install it between the tank and the pump. about $6.00 and no more blown check valve in your pump. My check valve has been on my coach for over 10 years and the only time my fresh water tank has over flowed was when someone forgot to shut off the valve when filling the tank. Herman

Eric, what will kill a plug faster than anything is plugging and unplugging when the Circuit Breaker is on. Arching will burn the pins and make the power hard to make connections and will heat up your plug, It is a good thing to do quit often is to clean the pins. Emory cloth and even an Emory Board will do the job. Herman

Towing Ford Edge - Preventing Dead Battery

F438528, First welcome to the Forum. If you will notice this is a 8 year old post and Wolfe10 hasn't been a member in about 2 years. That being said Wolfe10 was/is a very smart gentleman on RVs. my thought would be to use one size larger wire than your alternator uses to maintain your battery. IMHO (in my humble opinion) Herman -
Sprint MiFi -good or bad?
hermanmullins replied to tommiefern's topic in RV Internet to Go/Staying in Touch
Viking1500, Welcome to the Forum. I would also like to hear of a good booster for my Sprint Connect unit. We live in the country in an all metal house. Not a good combination for coverage. Herman -
Don, let's rephrase this. During the Governing Board Meeting in Gillette Wyoming at the 103rd International Convention and RV Expo, a vote was taken and the dues for renewing your membership were reduced to $50.00 per year and to join it was reduced to $60.00 for the first year. This was done without reducing any Benefits. Herman

Disapointed in my FMCA Roadside Assistance
hermanmullins replied to poohbear7278's topic in Roadside Assistance
I have spoken with FMCAs Membership Director who has spoken with "andoverrover". A mistake was made and it has been resolved to all's stratification. Herman -
Cat engines are still being built every day. The Cat engine that were used in Motorhomes were truck engine and part should be available at most truck shops and/or dealers. Either coach is a good choose the biggest question does the DW like one floor plan over the other one? That's what count the most. Herman

NO DC to House in 93 Monaco Dynasty...
hermanmullins replied to aquarianagecoming's topic in Type A motorhomes
Having both shore and generator make believe you transfer switch is OK. I don't have a Magnum Inverter but I have been told the reset button is on the rear of the unit. Sorry but I can't verify that. Herman -
NO DC to House in 93 Monaco Dynasty...
hermanmullins replied to aquarianagecoming's topic in Type A motorhomes
Do you A/C current from either shore power or generator? If yes you may have popped circuit breaker on your inverter. Look at the rear of your inverter for a breaker. Herman -
Karl, I move your other posting here so you don't have two posting on the same topic and here at Membership/Benefits. I have sent you a contact person that can help you on a PM (Personal Message). And Welcome to the Forum Herman Mullins FMCA Forum Monitor

Welcome to the Forum. 4 to 5 ththousand is pretty close. You will find most shops labor rates run from $115.00 to as high as $185.00 per hour. Diagnosing a motorhome is not like a car where you plug in a computer and it diagnosis it for you. So sorry, your repairs may have been a bit high but I don't think think you got ripped off. Again welcome, Herman
