Brenda, I am not sure they make snap on covers. And I don't think you want to go to the expense of changing out your mirrors.($$$) Have you considered having them painted? If yours are metal and not plastic you can have them powder coated. That is a really tough coating. However you could check RVsalvage locations to see if they might have chrome mirrors for your coach.

Brett, does the 3116 have a Jake Brake or Pac Brake. If I understand, the Jake Brake is in the engine and controls the valve train while the Pac Brake is an exhaust brake that controls the back pressure in the exhaust. When I use my Jake brake my transmission drops to 2 and returns to 6 when I release it. I'm sorry that I don't know enough about the systems. Since the subject is on Braking, could you give a brief lesson on the types of Exhaust Braking? Regards

christod, Welcome to the Forum. Does your engine hav CAT or CUMMINS? They are two different animals and two different Mfg.ers. BrEtt will be posting you all you need to know about a Cat. engine, while I know a little about my 400 ISL Cummins.

It is always nice to quote the Mfg. However if you have a top feul dragster DOT 5 would work well.

william, Welcome to the Forum. My jeep Wrangler had the Square Tail Lights and there would not be room for another buld without modifications. But I can understand your concerns. With the setup I have, I have never had a bit of problem. I have wired a number of coaches for my friends and none of them had had a problems either.

rickblues1, Welcome to the Forum. If you have 4 wheel drive and can put you transfer case in neutral you should be ready to go. If you have 2 wheel drive you will need a drive shaft disconnect or a lube pump. My preferance would be the drive shaft disconnect. If you are in or near Dallas, TX give David a call at Drive Shaft King at 214-941-7122. Also you will need a aux. braking system. Check out www.m-gengineering.com 903-675-2701 they have an awesome unit.

Mike, Welcome to the Forum. I'm sending this out to any and everyone that wants to work under their own coach. Go out and buy the best Jack Stands you can buy. Make sure they are capable of supporting the weight of your coach. And NEVER, NEVER get under your coach without them in place. FMCA is losing enough members due to the economy. We don't want to lose them to accidents. Be Safe.

When the plastic latches brake it is quite a chore to get the door open. Changing to the mteal latches is a good idea. Check the wear pattern on your latches. Your strikers may be too low and only the tip of the latch is catching. Vibrations going down the road can cause them to open. Ajust the strikers and see if that helps.

Uneven Tire Tread Wear on Tow Dolly
hermanmullins replied to akadeadeye's topic in Toads-Towed Behind Motorhome
Possible. But I feel that you have a balance or alignment problem. Try towing the dolly behind your car or truck and have some one follow you. Have them look for extreme bouncing or wandering. Bounce=balance. Wandering=alignment. You can check the bearing by lifting each side one at a time and spin the wheel and see if you can hear or feel any roughness. then put your hands at the top of the wheel and see if it is is loose. That would mean you have a bearing going out. -
Yes.

Does it seem to hesitate when you accelerate? If so you may have a bad accelerator pump in the Carb.

William, If not said before, Welcome to the Forum. You stated that when you start your engine, your transmission has fault codes. You also said that your tac was not working. I have had a similar thing happening in my coach. I would start the engine and nothing on the dash would work, but the engine still started. I turned the engine off and turned it back on and every thing worked. I have determined that I need to replace the ignition switch. Some times I have to turn it off and on several times to get every thing to come on. Just thought this may help.

Sanitizing Water And Holding Tank With Vinegar
hermanmullins replied to tiffinphaeton's topic in Water and Holding Tanks
In our area of the country we are having a severe drought. I have set up an older Surflo pump to pump the water from my tank and run it in the flower beds. My wife like it for her flowers and it speed up flushing to water from the 95 gallon tank. -
Dwight, Although you can blow air back through the fuel line going into the tank. Too much air pressure can damage the filter sock on the pick up tube or fuel pump. This can cause problems for either one of them.

Second thought. If you can remove the heater core and a Radiator shop can not repair it, Take it to Napa or one of the auto Parts houses and they can match it from a catalog. Parts such as that were off the shelf auto parts the Mfg. used. I am not sure I know what an Electric Assist Brake Master Cylinder. Are your brakes Air or hydraulic? But here again part in hand at a parts house might help in finding the parts. (master cylinder repair kit?)

How Much Gas To Keep In Toad?
hermanmullins replied to jacqui00's topic in Toads-Towed Behind Motorhome
This is related to something I have heard before. Has anyone out there ever heard that if you continue to run you vehicle(with the fuel pump in the tank) low on fuel that you can burn your fuel pump out because the fuel keeps the pump cool. I have heard of this but never verified it. ?? -
Welcome to the Forum. As Bill said, they should be fairly compatible. Most M/Hs are plumbed with Pec tubing and a lot of new plumbing fixtures have Pec fittings or can be adapted for Pec.

Uneven Tire Tread Wear on Tow Dolly
hermanmullins replied to akadeadeye's topic in Toads-Towed Behind Motorhome
Don, The only alignment for the toe dolly would toe in. You might take the dolly to a shop and have them check to see if it might be toed in or out too much. Also, and this is just me but I have always balanced the tires on every thing I drive or pull down the Highway. Like chicken soup for a dead man "it may not help but it couldn't hurt."
