Dean, As Brett has said, "Welcome to the Forum". Motor Homes and 5th wheels are very Biblical "Seek and You Will Find". So, keep looking. The cut off switch is there somewhere. On my Monaco there are two switches, one for the house and one for the chassis, in my battery compartment on the wall to the left of the batteries. Your Dads may only have one. Chuck gave a good description of the switches, round-red-off/on-silver(aluminum) handle. The previous owner may have turned them off. Have you been able to contact them? And do contact Monaco Tech., nice folks and a lot of help.

Jim, does your friend's Dynasty have a tag axle? If so that will make his coach handle better then yours. However if he purchased it pre-owned, the previous owner may have had the axle/wheels weighed and adjusted the suspension for better handling. As Brett said, start with weighing each wheel. Check your tires mfg. chart for proper pressure. Check the tires for uneven wear and or cupping. If while driving you have to correct the steering all the time you may need alignment. Hope you a able to solve your ride and steering problems and can enjoy RVing.

GaryJo Welcome to the Forum. Hind sight is 20/20. I am not trying to be cute, but unless you really needed the Van it would have been nice to investigate before making your purchase. Remco makes a very good drive shaft disconnect, for rear wheel drives. That being said your Van is front wheel drive with CV joints and would require two disconnects. I am not sure how those disconnects engage and disengage. Since you have gone to the expense of tow bar and base plates I would investigate Remco's Pump or Front Wheel Disconnects. If they don't recommend them it looks as if you might have to check out a dolly. If you have to go with a dolly you might try to sell what you have already purchased on "craigs list". I hope you are able to solve this with as little expense as possible.

"The ZLD", A New Sewage Elimination System
hermanmullins replied to JMGOLDEN's topic in Water and Holding Tanks
There has been talk about converting old oil from fast food joints to run as diesel and how the exhaust smell like French Fries. Do I need to say any more. -
You are correct. And if you check, some of them are affiliated with a store your already have a card with and that they honor the same card. I don't know if a lot know about some of the other discounts out there. For example IHOP gives a 10% discount for Seniors, but if you are a veteran they will give a 20% discount. Maybe not all locations, since they are franchises, but most do. Be sure and ask for your veterans discounts at Lowes and Home Depot. It doesn't hurt to ask. Happy Rving and shopping.

We have the AquaHot unit. When I last had ours serviced it was low on coolant. The coolant is a mixture of 50% H2O and Boiler Anti Freeze. The tech also changed out the injector. There is a valve for each zone on the coach. They each have their own solenoid valve. The valves stick sometime after not being used through the warmer weather. The tech showed me how to tap (Lightly) each valve with a small hammer. This will unstick the valve and it should work all winter after that. Hope my experience helps.

Kroger. They have one nice benifit. For each dollar you spend you get a point. For each one hundred point you have in a month, the next month you receive $.10 off for each gallon you purchase at a Kroger Station. If you are a really, really big spender you can get $1.00 off per gallon. I beleive it is limited to a certain amout of fuel. You do have to have a Kroger Card (free) and have to have it scaned each time you buy Groceries. You also receive a senior discount of 10% off all Kroger brand Items.

To all three of you gentlemen, Welcome to the Forum. I had the Steer-Safe install (Camping World Denton, TX) on my 32' DP and didn't see much difference then without it. However I did loosen all the bolts, install longer eye bolts and move the base plate out more. I then used the longer eye bolts to apply more tension to the springs and at that point I saw a difference. While traveling through Deming, NM I stopped at the Factory and they(very nicely) threw a hissy fit. They did however rebuild my unit at no charge. They replaced the eye bolts I had installed with their own. I didn't see them move the plates back. After they replaced the bolts the coach drove just as well as it did after I made my changes. Steer-Safe people are very nice people to work with. Good Luck on your choice.

Chuck, I understand your post, that your A/Cs pull 17 amps while running. My question is how many amps do they pull when they cycle on? That might effect how many amps is required.

Generator Jim, I remember that Mr. R.G , the owner, of LeTournio in Longview made electric drive earth moving equipment. Each wheel was an electric motor. You could always tell one of his units because the engine would run at a fixed RPM. They would determine at what RPM they achieved the most Voltage and it would run all day long at that setting. When you mentioned the RPM setting I thought that could be the problem. Is there a way to adjust the RPM on the Onan? I will look for your answer on this and anything in the future. Good information

Dagger, Welcome to the Forum. Clayl said that Workhorse has a fix that reprogams the IP. You might contact Workhorse about the fix and if there is a W/H dealer near you that might be able to do the reprogram. I can say it now that Thanksgiving is over. MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Your Explorer being a 2011 it could effect the warranty. That I just don't know. But as to doing any harm or damage by pulling the locking pin, it will not harm your vehicle but it might make it easier for the repo man. I have a thought, since your Explorer is a 2011, jack the front end so both front tires are off the ground. Then with the key off and out, try to turn the steering wheel. If it turns and locks you do have a locking pin. However if the wheel will turn stop to stop, you don't have a locking pin and can tow without the key being on and will not rack up mileage.

Les, The answer to your question is like going South for the Winter," Some do, Some don't". Give Winnebago a call, they may know if your coach had a lighted handle or not. Have a good one.

mcsafari, Welcome to the Forum. As Brett said Henderson should have associates in this area that can help. You might check with North Texas RV in Denton. I went through some wonderful training while I was a Cub Pack Master and Scout Master called Wood Badge. There was one word I remember above all else, "Resources" On this Blog are some of the best resources around. The experiance of the members is astounding. Because most every problem that is asked about, there is someone out there has had the same problem. There is a great deal of OJT (On the Job Training) out there and there is no better training then being there and doing something. Good luck with your swaying and rocking & rolling.

Gentlemen, On all vehicles with a steering wheel lock, they must have the key turned to the Accessory position. this gives power to the odomenter which will then rack up miles. On the later models of GM units there isn't a steering wheel lock. You can take your toad to a mechanic and have them remove the locking pin in the steering column. Then you will not have to turn on your key thus eliminating racking up mileage. Just a thought. And by the way PeteH, posting at 1:15 AM is way too early or late to be on the computer. Welcome to the Forum.

Well, from one old man to another, It looks like you are set. There is one thing I have heard about standard transmissions. I was told by a fellow RVer that allthough he had 4 wheel drive and standard shift on his Chevrolet P/U, he still needed a drive shaft disconnect. He was told that with the drive shaft turning in neutral, his rear bearing was not being oiled and would seize up. Just to be on the safe side why don't you contact your Dodge dealer and check this out. Hope it all works out and you are pulling your toad very soon. Happy Thanksgiving

88 Rockwood XL Ford Chassis Power Steering Pulley

walkersmajic, Welcome to the Forum. Can you still find duel matched V belts anymore? I remember them from waaaayy back there. Check out some of the Hot Rod web sites. They have a lot of people rebuilding to original like yourself and there you may find the double shive you need. Also check out craigslist, like chicken soup, it may not help but it can't hurt. You and your have a happy and safe Thanksgiving. ON EDIT: I just looked at craigslist.com and typed in "460" and there were several people with 460 engines and parts. Give that a look. -
racesport, Welcome to the Forum. Since you said you had a three point leveling system, you need to be aware of something about the front jack. When you are parked on grassy or gravel spots always put a large board under the front jack. Use something that will give your jack a large foot print. The center of those type of spots are not packed like the lanes under the tires. Your jack can sink into the ground due to the weight of the coach. One thing you might try to do before you level your coach is to dump your air. This will lower your coach and the jacks will not have to extend so far and will give you more travel to level your coach. And do as Brett said and check to make sure that when it says your level that you really are.

John you don't have to go that far to the right, just enough to be in the middle. I mean center of the steering wheel of course.

AJ, Welcome to the Forum. Doesn't a 94 454 have a computer? If so, can't you reprogram it to the timing you desire. Its been a long time since I heard the term "Timing by ear". I know that we used to time the old Ford Falcon 6 cylinder by ear since the Harmonic Balancer would shift on the rubber and move the timing mark. Loosen the bolt just a hair and drive, stop tap the vacuum advance and drive some more. Of course there were point and condensor too. Check with the Mfg. of your coach, they may be able to tell you where the code is or where the wire is. Good Luck

John, you might lay down and look under your seat at the pedestal. Look to see if the base plate or seat mounting plate are centered. If not check to see if it is offset to the left or right. There is a possibality that the base was installed incorrectly. I tryed to move a barrel chair in our first coach and the bolts were mounted to a plate under the floor (Seat belt safety) making it almost impossiable to relocate. If your seat post is mounted off centered and the base plate is square you may be able to rotate the mount. But beware that the locking pin works off the post and may not lock correctly if moved. You could always just lean to the right.
