  1. Byron, It has been since Friday that Betty had her knee replaced, how is she doing? We are all keeping you both in our prayers. Herman
  2. As dd69 said there is a switch for the step when on the step will go in and out as the door is open and closed. Leaving the step out while in storage is not a bad thing. It help the person breaking in a place to step. The devil made do it. Herman
  3. Does it have wooden spokes and axles? Herman
  4. Erniee, I agree on Starlight but Ryan has one of the buildings from where he has Ryan's RV Repair. I have not used him myself but have heard he does good work. Herman
  5. I put our RF-18 down at floor level.(No furnace) I had space at the top (about 8") and made a cabinet door that hinged up. There I repositioned my electric and water. I can change the water filter with no problem. I secured the unit to a board with recesses in it for the adjustable front feet and with "L" at the top. Tht board at the bottom was to support the unit because it protruded out about 3" . Herman
  6. Bill, we are talking about insurance companies and "sis ounted orices" make about as much sense as any insurance company does. Herman
  7. RR, I do not know where you are located but in McKinney there is a shop called Ryan's RV Repair. His shop is East of McKinney on Hwy 380. He has his shop in a building at a place called Mr Olivers RV. 214-244-1203. Give him a call he may be able to help. Herman
  8. GABob, What I believe you were quoted at the Ford House may have been for a complete rim and tire. I looked at your coach and it looks to have steel rims in the 19.5 size. That may have been a bit high but not too far out of range. Herman

  10. Border to border 2,087.1 miles. It would cost at least $1.08 per mile (Government allowance). 2,087.1miles one way X 2 coaches= 4,174.2 miles X 2 (round trip) = 8,348.4 miles X $1.08 per mile =$8,348.40. (this does not include departure point and destination point) Hmmmm. Herman
  11. Richard, The element can be purchased at you box store, Lowe's or Home Depot. They are 110 volt elements. If you have to old one out take it with you to compair. In my last coach I replaced mine from Lowe's. I prefer Lowe's over Home Depot in our area. Herman
  12. Little300Z, Welcome to the Forum That is a nice thought for the Families. There are some companies that I am sure can accommodate you but. I feel the Cost would be prohibited. Herman
  13. monacowatts, That is good to know. When you lowered the platform down closer to the furnace was there still sufficient room as for it to not get it too hot? Herman
  14. Our prayer are with Betty and you. Hope she continues to get better. Herman
  15. Mac, Contact either Jason Gabbard or Larry Pennington I will PM you with their contact Info. Herman
  16. Joe, the coach went into their shop on a Thursday around 4 pm. They ran a short diagnostic and said that it would be the next morning to do a full check. We parked in one of their three 50 amp/full hook ups.On Friday morning they found the problem and had to order the part from Overland Park Kansas. The first shift a had removed everything but the pump. The pump arrived around 4 PM and the second shift remove and replaced the pump.

They finished up at 1:45 AM Saturday morning. Just as I signed the credit card ticket the tech came in to say there was a problem, leaking oil. They offered to stay and get it done but I told them to go home and when the shop opened on Monday morning (closed Sat. and Sun.) to get on it.

We moved the coach back to the hook up and on Monday morning they got right on it and had us out by 2 PM. I told them they did a good job and that "S" happens.

I did get another ticket with a $972.00 charge and then showed a $972.00 credit. Their paperwork trace.

The leak turned out to be the "O Ring" that seals the port for the oil to the pump for lubrication. If either fell out when putting the pump in or failed to put it on in the first place.

All and all it wasn't too bad of an experience.

  17. My hi-pressure fuel pump went out when we were headed to the Rally in Indianapolis. It cost $5,026.05. Herman
  18. There are laws on the books, I know there are in Texas, about restraints for all persons in an Automobile. How about Motor Homes? I would be interested in hearing about such laws, not hearsay but factual laws. I for one have carried Grand Kids and adults on my couch. The kids have been in the bedroom watching a video and such. Herman
  19. TX, Are you saying that the Firestix NGP does not require a ground plane for good reception? That would be great on a Fiberglass or Rubber roof. Richard, Speaking of Ground Planes. Isn't your roof Aluminum? Herman
  20. Jerald, Welcome to the Forum. I put an RF-18 Samsung in my Monaco Dynasty through the front door. I did have to remove the Passenger seat. I removed the freezer drawer and both door and all hinges. I then made a very light weight frame the same dimensions of the RF-18 and maneuvered it through the door. I did have to remove the door stop at the top of the door and open it all the way back. Now that being said, I must clarify the I had earlier cut down my TV cabinet. I cut it back my center mounted TV cabinet back 7". I believe on you Knight your furnace is under you refrigerator and you will have a height issue. Width is not a problem in replacing the NeverCool 1200 but height is. Herman
  21. Afordeck, Have a friend that had low power limped home from Glacier. He call a friend at Cummins. The friend had him clean his chassis batteries terminals. It ran like a top. Now his coach is a 1999 Monaco Dynasty and I believe it is an ISB but don't hold me to that. It might be worth a try and if it doesn't work you at least have clean terminals. Herman
  22. Marvin. Welcome to the Forum. Did you try the dimmer on your headlight switch? Possibly could be a bad or corroded switch. Inside the switch is a reistate that controls the brightness of the dash lights. Turning it back and forth several time my clean the contact. Herman
  23. Sorry to hear about your issues. I don't know this helps but here is what happened to my Cummins 400 ISL. Check engine light came on. Engine ran but had very low power and low boost. Limped into Joplin Cummins Service Center. Turned out to be the High Pressure Fuel Pump. They replaced the pump and has run like a top since. They had to run a complete diagnostic check to discover the problem. Again, sorry for your problems. Herman By the way, Joplin Cummins Service Center is top notch.
