  1. It's not the slide seal it is the wiper seal that could need replacing but I don't think that will be your case. Our manual, specific of course to our MH, says to tilt the MH and then bring the slide in if there has been rain. PIA, but works. It is especially true if there has been a blowing rain and it gets under the topper. As for the topper, when you pull in the slide you will see the water running of the edge. Stop the slide and wait for it to subside, the start retracting again and repeat if necessary. As for leveling the answer to see what the manual says, or contact the manufacturer is the best answer. In my case it is level first, then extend. The reason is that if the coach is out of level it puts a strain on the the slide because it is torqued one way or the other and can be damaged. Again - specific to my MH. Regarding my comment on "slide seal." The slide seal is a gasket that runs around the entire periphery of the slide and is on the inside frame edge of the slide. There are two for each slide. One on the inside and one on the outside. When the slide is retracted, from the inside feel up above or on the side of the slide and you can feel the rubber gasket. On the outside when the slide is extended you can look and see the gasket on the inside of the slide, outside edge. The wiper seal stays in place. I know, I know, semantics shemantecs. Just setting the record straight.
  2. Warren, Send an email to the DMV explaining the situation. They may come back with a reply that would cover you by showing the learners permit and the email they send back to you. If not, you haven't lost anything as the worse you can get for asking is a, "No!"
  3. Interesting! My battery is the last compartment in the rear on the driver side. I'd run some heavy gauge wire underneath with tie-wraps to a spot where I could get in. In the old days we plugged CB holes with a 3/4 inch grommet. If we wanted to run a coax through it we would "X" slit it and push the coax through. Of course it required a 3/4" hole. Same could be used for a power line. Just find a spot through the floor or firewall to drill the hole. Also, look at the wiring harness that goes through the firwall and see if there is space enough in that grommet for a cable. KE5QG
  4. Richard (Doc), loved having your particular talent close by. Thank you. I thought the army was called GRUNTs (Ground Replacement Usually Not Trained)
  5. JoelGrey only had 1 post. Wonder if he'll be back. Let's not get carried away with the OP as Joel was referring to HULU only.
  6. How the heck do they know what zip code you are in. You can turn off locations services for Hulu, or any other app that requires it. Use a web browser and use a VPN and you can be anywhere you want to be.
  7. Anytime I roll into a place that has a sign that says, "No Exhaust Brakes," or "No Jake Brakes," I have to admit that I totally disregard them. The exhaust or Jake brakes are safety issues. They stop my GVWR 45,600 pound MH towing a car a lot faster when I do have to apply the brakes than if they were off. The ordnance is to placate the people who have complained about the noise. Yes, the 18 wheelers are very noisy compared to my MH. On the other hand, if I turn it off and the just downshift - I get basically the same stopping power and the SAME noise.
  8. Yep, a quick look under the coach should confirm IFS or non-IFS.
  9. My system is AF1 but the brake lights are hooked to the umbilical cord and they dome on when the exhaust brake is on. I have a two stage, is that exhaust of jake?
  10. I don't know. I asked the person who did it but she said they have changed a lot of things and she would not go back to them.
  11. Enlighten me, does the exhaust brake activate the AF1? I was under the impression that the brake pedal of the coach being pressed applied proportional air pressure to the brakes of the TOAD through the AF1. The exhaust brake does not activate the air system on the coach...or did someone tell me wrong.
  12. Herman, that got a sound chuckle out of me.
  13. On our trip last year we were headed to Scenic Hills RV Park in Berlin, OH. (GPS will say MIllersburg, OH) Well GPS was what I was following and it did take me to Scenic HIlls, but, It took me the shortest route and not the fastest. Talk about some narrow roads and on one of them I came to a 90 degree right hand turn. Had I known it was 90 degrees I would have pulled more to the left to make the turn. As it would be, there was a stone wall about waist high on a man and it followed the road right to the 90 degree turn. As I turned I kept watching the right side mirror and I cleared that stone wall with about 4 inches to spare. I look up and see a sign, Narrow Bridge. We squeezed across. Sometimes one can get trouble. In either case I could have unhooked the TOAD and changed positions. Happy to have a 60˚ wheel cut. Another time in California it was a debate between my wife's iPad and my GPS. My GPS said go up to Hwy 74, hers said take Sage Rd. We took Sage Rd. Most of the time I was doing 15 mph and trying to see if I could read the license plate on the TOAD as we drove some of the turns. When I got to JoJoba Hills Escapee Park I mentioned how I got there and the lady behind the counters said, "You Didn't! No one takes that road in an RV." Yep, I did. There are narrow roads out there. I try and look at Google Earth or Satellite view for my next day's travels.
  14. Have a friend that went into MX from somewhere in AZ. American doctor picked her up at the border and brought her back home as I understand it. She had lots of implants for less than $10k.
  15. Follow up: I should have added that I didn't have dental insurance.
  16. They sure don't respect each other!
  17. I was the ugly one, who where you. Small world. I picked them up in Weathford, TX. I wanted to go to the West Coast and make the whole trip but the accident happened and put riding days behind me. Oh! I won't tell how fast I had to go to catch up with my group! I did keep my mouth shut though, first time ever and last!
