  1. I don't care about your blog or what you post somewhere else, If you are posting here you need to post the information hear. Please give us some documentation where it is ok as a general practise to run RV tires to 10 years. Who is going to pay for the damage if they go 9.5 years and have a blow out? This is true I have seen how badly a big 5th wheel abuses it's tires when turning sharply. The question is why arn't trailer rated tires made better? There is a large group of trailer owners going to LT tires because they stand up to the abuse better. Bill
  2. Now you are going to make me feel bad about grumbling about the $353.47 I have to pay the state of Texas and the $7.00 state inspection fee. Also no state income tax. By the way welcome to the forum and congrats on the new Red. Bill
  3. Welcome to the forum. Ok did you have a algae problem? I know about having the fuel "polished" Did you put the algae treatment in the tank before or after? You have gotten good advise, let us know what you find. Just querious, how long did the coach set. Bill
  4. Great, now you can move forward to geting on the road. Bill
  5. That is ok, I have been to Sees candy and I am well supplied.😄 https://www.sees.com/easter-candy/chocolate-bunnies Bill
  6. We need pictures.😁🐰 Bill
  7. Absolutely. I think I remember reading that it was Ford who had a big hand in the problem by running the tire way soft for a better ride. Perhaps our resident tire expert can enlighten us as he was probably working in the industry back then. Bill
  8. I don't think I would either. Bill
  9. Happy Easter back at you. Bill
  10. When I was young we had a insulated milk box. When the roads were closed by snow in the winter I would walk about 2 miles to a neighbors dairy farm and get milk towing a wooden box on a sled. That steering wheel is looking good. Bill
  11. Well yes you are. First please explain how this statement is relevant. "The OP could have paid $900 for newer tires" Paying more will not guarantee newer tires, you have to request newer date codes. Trying to use fake inflated numbers to make your argument sound better is pretty disingenuous. It is to bad the OP didn't know about the FMCA tire program he could have gotten newer date codes (by requiring them) and bought Continentals for $547.27ea. You still haven't told me who is going to cover the cost of a blow out on my coach if I follow your advice that 10 years is ok. Strange I can't find any qualified tire expert who says going past 7 years on a RV is acceptable risk. Bill
  12. What made you look at that park? Are you passing through or staying in the area? I have stayed off I-75 at Cartersville / Cassville-White KOA Journey. Nice and easy acess just off I-75. Bill
  13. Well in a word no. I don't understand " You saved 22% which is about 1/5 of the price." Does this mean if someone quote $1200 ea and he didn't buy from them he saved more? Probably the only way to compare cost is to break it down to cost per year of service. It looks to me as he has lost a couple of years of service which would increase his cost per year. You also throw out this statement. "If you assume 10 year life max then if you get 8 years use you got a reasonable deal." Yes, Michelin says the absolute maximum life is 10 years. However they also say starting at 7 years the tire must be broken down and inspected on the inside by a qualified inspector. That isn't a small cost. Quick survey found a cost of $60.00 ea That was $50.00 for the dismounting mounting and $10. 00 to balance. So $60.00 X 6 = $360. X the 3 years left to the 10 MAX is $1080.00. That would buy me 2 new tires and there is NO tire company out there saying they will pay for the damage a blowout would cause to your RV. If there is please get us the information. It is to bad the OP didn't know about or use the FMCA program as he could have saved more and had a better experience. Bill
  14. I don't believe in the aftermarket warranties and have had better luck self insuring. Bill
  15. Welcome to the forum. Let's start with more information on your RV age type etc. Just a suggestion but if you add that information to your signature it will help you to get better answers faster. Bill
  16. You might get some tips from watching some of the videos on Youtube like this one. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WkPvDiBU6Q0 The RV Geeks have several videos of changing different types of awnings. If you type "replace rv slide topper" in the search feature you will find more. I am not shure where to look for the end cap. I would try the manufacture first. Bill
  17. I just want to know what is so hard about answering the OPs question? All the OP wanted to know was "Can a portable air compressor properly inflate coach tires (245/70R19.5 )". Please enlighten us on what you would do if you went outside to get ready for a trip and the one or more tires on your RV were 5 lbs low? Bill
  18. Bigalmurfdog, welcome to the forum. I don't know it hasn't helped me. Bill
  19. I would start a savings account so if you do need something (you will always have maintenance type expenses) you will have a little extra money. For example you will need to replace your tires in 7 years. I will be in your backyard mid June. We generally stay at Worden Pond Family Campground. Bill
  20. No could you enlighten me? By the way it makes it easier to give good answers if you put your RV and basic info in your signature. Like manholt has. He can be an example for you. Bill
  21. While this is true, there is one other place you need to match tires. When changing duels they must be matched in size. If not you will have uneven wear and possibly/probable tire failure. Bill
  22. Scroll further down on the website under product menu. For those who are not smart device users, the Mopeka Check Double Monitor works with two Mopeka Check sensors, and allows you to monitor the levels in two separate propane tanks. Note: Double Monitor only works with Standard Sensor. Ask your wife if she will show you how to use her phone. I like using a rubber tipped styles that is also a pen. Bill
  23. I found something I didn't know existed today. The Mopeka allows you to monitor the level of propane using the free Mopeka Check app on your smartphone or tablet. Ok I may be the only one who doesn't know about this device. This thing will accurately measure the amount of propane in your tanks. It works on ultrasound, It will also work on horizontal tanks. It will work with your phone and you can monitor your tanks remotely. For instance you want to know what the level of propane is in your tanks and your RV is in storage or at a site at the lake. You don't need to drive over and look. https://mopeka.com/ Just something interesting. Bill
