Does it need to be metric? Bill

I have not seen smithy make any recommendations one way or the other. I have seen him correct false statements and lies so that those reading could have correct information to make a decision. camarti1, You have promoted Xscapers and Good Sams neither of which are a class A, B or C only organization. So what's your point? All I see is more knee jerk reaction to a non event. Bill

Thanks for checking in. Bill

No I haven't yet. 2.6 SCFM delivered at 90 PSI also the 6 gal tank gives a small cushion. Should be good and it tops out at 165 psi so the pressure differential is better than some of the ones that only get to 125psi. But Carl, now I have a new portable compressor. Bill

Wayne, I agree. If some one wants anything bad enough they ca get it. Just turn off the circuit breaker and cut the power cord with some bolt cutters. Now they have the valuable copper cord and the surge protector. Bill

Well I decided this was a good time to use my favorite saying "you can never have to many tools". I bought a pancake compressor off Amazon a DEWALT DWFP55126 6-Gallon 165 PSI Pancake Compressor. I also picked up a 3/8 in inline filter and dryer. We will see how good it does. Yes I can use the on board compressor but that requires starting the coach every time to power the compressor. Which brings into play the whole "don't start your coach unless you are going to drive it scenario". Well that's my excuse. Bill

Power Need To Tow 12,000 lb Trailer
wildebill308 replied to LEEDIANNE's topic in Toads-Towed Behind Motorhome
Lee, welcome to the forum. First that sounds like a lot of weight for what you are talking about. What car and what bike and what trailer? You are never going to find a coach that isn't slowed or affected by steep hills or strong head winds. What you need to do is learn how to drive the coach. You are driving a big heavy Vehicle not a sedan. You may need to manually down shift when climbing steep hills. To keep your rpm in the proper range and you can drive any where. What is important to realize is the 600+ HP coaches also weigh more than the smaller coaches. I have driven over almost all the major hills and passes with my little 300HP coach towing my toad with out a problem. Bill -
Why the kneejerk reaction? What has changed? What will change? When? I see this whole vote as a big NOUTHING BERGER. No large group of towable owners are waiting to get in so what is going to change? 80%+ of current members don't go to the rally's or belong to local chapters now. The big problem as with any club of this type is recruiting and keeping new members. The management has failed to do a good job of finding new members to replace the ones in this aging demographic. They have failed to get the info in front of younger people who own or will own RV's. The whole Energize theme needs to be expanded. I think there have ben several great suggestions offered in this thread. Personally I think each member could do more in that area. It is you who are in the campgrounds who can talk to new people. It is at the local, chapter where the most growth can be achieved. I challenge you to quit wining about the current situation and do something about it. Set a goal for next year to recruit one new member each month. Think about this for motivation. Every one you recruit will be (most likely) a like minded RV owner. The more like minded members we have the more control we will have over the future and direction of the club. Bill

I agree, I bought the little device to lock my portable. I but if the truth was known most of the "thefts" were some one left the surge guard plugged into the pedestal. Bill

Carl, have another cup of coffee and think about it. I think you were trying to say use hydrogen peroxide not bleach (Clorox is a brand of bleach). Bill

I use CoPilot there are a lot of customizable settings including height. I use the base program as I have heard of problems with the RV specific one. One benefit is you can down load maps over your WIFI and you don't use as much data when on the road. Bill

Where are you located? As I posted earlier I am happy with my new Continentals. I saved over $100.00 off what the Michelin would have ben at the discount price. I had a hard time finding some one that understood the program or who could get tires. Bill

Yes it is normal. Home gas furnaces have made big gains in efficiency over the years. RV furnaces not so much. Bill

Flat Towing 2013 Ford F150 4X4 ecoboost
wildebill308 replied to dhg2397's topic in Toads-Towed Behind Motorhome
Welcome to the forum. One thing many forget to do is to Put your climate control system in recirculated air mode to prevent exhaust fumes from entering your vehicle. "does it put mileage on the vehicle?" No it does not put miles on the odometer. I don't recall the need t pull any fuses. Towing behind a Motorhome is detailed in depth starting on page 285 of your owners manual. Bill -
12 whole days that's a long time. I bet it feels like a long long time to ISP JS. Bill

bdrm slide guide two bolts broken off 2005 Itasca 40 KD: Rear Slide Issue
wildebill308 replied to chp007kd40's topic in Slideouts
When you buy replacement bolts get at least "grade 6" Some of the ones used by the factory, Well lets just say they aren't the best. Bill -
I set my pressure cold and don't care if it warms up. Having the extra 10# will help protect you if the temperature drops. I would be much more worried about running on underinflated tires than ones set properly when cold and go up because of temperature increases. Bill

I replaced my start batteries 2 years ago with OEM group 31 batteries from thee local Freightliner store. I asked last month and they still had them on sale for $69.95 each. 925 CCA at 0* and 1110 at 32* They seam to be holding up. Bill

Welcome to the forum. I have heard the map program would drain a battery pretty fast. I thought about getting it but it came as a "package" that was way to much for something I had on phone and on my tablet free. Bill
