  1. If the tires are the same size there is no change. I would check your speedometer with a good GPS setup as it may be off anyway. What size tires are you running now? Personally if you don't feel comfortable with a place I wouldn't use them. Bill
  2. Well congratulations. Now you need to put it and some other info in your signature and profile. You might run the A/C for a while to help dry the interior out plus it probably would be good for you to run the generator to. OK talk about how old is the diesel in the coach? If the tires are OK I would run it with a double dose of Diesel Kleen. I would start with a double dose in the next tank to. Plan on doing a complete "annual" maintenance to get a baseline. Have fun, if you have questions just ask. Bill
  3. I bet only certain circuits are powered by your inverter. With the refrigerator on propane and not running the furnace I think you should be good for at least 10 hours. Without knowing how good (ampere hour) and at what charge your batteries are starting at that is as much sage advice I can give. Add the usual "your results may vary" You could do a test run during the day to see how long the batteries will last. Bill
  4. Nice looking rig!!! By the way Dino & Cathy, Welcome to FMCA and the Forum! Where is that Florida or south Cal? Bill
  5. Welcome to the forum. There are several members that live in the Houston area and they should be along to give some suggestions. I just put 6 new Continentals on my rig and Saved more than the Michelin tires by about a $100.00 per tire. That is off the program discount price not retail. Bill
  6. They were regular, I don't remember the size 100% but I am thinking 3/16 1/4 or 5/32. I did grumble when I had to get down and back up. It took longer to find the missing wrench than to swap the fans. Measure on the shaft where the fans are so you can put them the same spacing on the new motor. When you get the motor back in spin the shaft a couple of times to make shure it spins freely and doesn't hit anything. Here is a link to a video. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=doJ_oD18lZs Bill
  7. Congratulations on the new coach. Bill
  8. You might as well take the filter out as you will need a new one next year. I would say if the ice cubes arn't freezing you are good. Bill
  9. The oiling worked so well that I carried the new fan motor for almost 6 months on a trip West last year. Ended up changing it in a park near Zion. By the way the fans don't come with the motor. They also take different size allen wrenches. The size I didn't have on the roof with me the first time. Bill
  10. The oil that I linked to is specifically for oiling electric motors. It works fairly well in this application. Especially if you slide the felt washers away from the opening to the bering and make a reservoir with tape to hold a supply of oil in place and give it time to soak into the porous bearing material. Bill
  11. Fan bearings are going dry. You can get a new one from Amazon for $112.00. You can possibly soak the bearings and the felt washers that are on the shaft with 3-in-one oil for electric motors. I kept my blower going for a year doing that. https://www.walmart.com/ip/WD-40-3-IN-ONE-Motor-Oil-3-Oz/21377719?wmlspartner=wlpa&adid=22222222227026511371&wl0=&wl1=g&wl2=c&wl3=52592071631&wl4=pla-84472030991&wl5=9027284&wl6=&wl7=&wl8=&wl9=pla&wl10=8175035&wl11=online&wl12=21377719&wl13=&veh=sem Bill
  12. Glad you found the problem. Keep the questions coming. Bill
  13. I must be confused because in Article III - Membership it states under item (1) "Membership is deemed a personal privilege and shall not be subject to sale, transfer, assignment, or bequest. No member shall become vested of any title, interest in, or right to any property of FMCA, except as provided by law." So how is this any different than belonging to Good Sam's? What do I own? You may call it a Association if it makes you feel more aloof than a commoner who belongs to a club. "Also, FMCA has offered all the members a secure facility to vote on this issue and counted by a CPA firm." I did not say anything about the vote. I was pointing out the FAILURE of the governing board to adequately give the members a say in how our club is run and it's future. It is this continuing arrogance and condescending attitude that is the problem. Bill
  14. Assuming you have weighed the coach and set tire pressure to the tire manufacturers chart + 10% or I just use + 10 lbs as it is easier. I would use a known accurate gauge to set the base pressure and the record what the Tireminder read. See how much it changes on the trip. Bill
  15. Glad you were able to weather the storm. Bill
  16. Let me try to get back on track. First, dons2346, What do you think this is if not a club? Does calling it an Association make you feel "special". Why isn't this survey relevant? True it is not a secure survey that prevents someone from voting more than once, but it is more than the FMCA offered the general membership. Bill
  17. The big difference is you went back and thanked them for responding. In my opinion going back after that is optional. Not going back to a post shows bad manners and lack of respect to those you are asking for advice and help. Bill
  18. Welcome to the forum from anouther old aircraft mechanic. Bill
  19. I am all in for FART with a OLD prefix. This is not the only club/organization involved in controversy and change. Last week I was at a Bounder Rally at Gettysburg PA. http://www.bounder.org/info.php?pnum=2. The big problem is they no longer make a diesel Bounder. The last one was 2008. So those who want to upgrade to a diesel or replace an aging diesel coach can't get a Bounder. Without a Bounder you can't remain a member of the club. Doesn't matter if you were one of the founding fathers. One of the guy's I know had been to the Hershey RV show and took his Bounder to town and came home with a 38ft 2018 Pace Arrow. The fun part he had it sanitized so it had no name or decal on it. He said he was going to put a Bounder decal on the front and see if they tried to kick him out. The point is don't think FMCA is the only group with problems and issues. Bill
  20. Great job and thanks for the update. Bill
  21. I think the only problem is running a fuel line, with fuel pump and filter and installing a carburetor. I wonder if you could find a parts breakdown on Cummins/Onan that should give you all the parts. It looks pretty straightforward. I don't think longevity would be affected enough to worry about. Bill
