  1. You guys are trying to make me think this morning. I just sanded the bushings down there is a step in one side about .300 thick. I used a 2" sanding disk in my right angle dotco. You could use a sanding disk in your drillmoter. Hold the bushings with some vicegrips or plyers. The links are threaded on each end and have a shoulder to hold the washer. Look carefully as on end is longer and should be marked. Why do you think you need replacement links? Bill
  2. Just the front as far as I know. The big bushings are seldom a problem. I was under my coach last week and my big bushings still look good. Bill
  3. Are you talking about a new to you CC? Where do you live? I favor Texas. Bill
  4. Roland, it is a easy project. As far as how tight I tried to get them so they swelled up a little (see in the pictures. You need at least 1-3 threads through the end of the nut. All you need to replace are the bushings. I did not change the big ones that hold the bushing to the frame as they were ok. I sprayed a little oil in them so they move. I might do that at some point in the future. Read what I said in the other post about the markings on the end links. http://community.fmca.com/topic/8004-sway-bar-bushings-bad/ It made a defiant improvement. Let me know if you have any questions. Bill
  5. Welcome to the forum. Sorry to hear about your problems. This is a perfect example of why I self insure for repairs. It is to bad it had to happen to you. Bill
  6. What ever you do don't use a K&N filter or any of that type. Yes they claim to flow more air but they also allow more dirt in than Cummins or Cat allow. The stock filters flow more air than your engine can use. There are some who like Filter barn, https://www.filterbarn.com/ The only negative is one un supported claim that the person got a filter that was over 2 years old. I bought my last filter from the local Freightliner store.
  7. No a guess has been made without proof. Bill
  8. I am interested in how they manage having a fuel line that moves with the slide. OP hasn't been back with any reply's. Bill
  9. Welcome to the forum. Why haven't you had a toad? Why are you making your poor DW drive the car? If you don't have a toad you are giving up over 80% of the things you can do on a trip. Keep in mind many places will ticket you if you don't fit in the marked space or stick out to far on the street side. Like DD said any thing over a small van conversion is a problem to get around in in town. "This will force me to disconnect every time we want to go somewhere" Help me out here. Less than 2-3 min to disconnect the toad verses disconnecting the coach breaking down and storing everything. Then having to re set up when you get back. You can leave the toad disconnected until you are ready to leave. You would rather drive something to go shopping or sight seeing that gets 5-6 mpg in town or less verses a toad that gets over 30+ MPG. As you don't have you coach in your signature I don't know what it is. I would stick with a Class A and upgrade as it seems you want slides. You will have more storage, bigger tanks more room. By the way this is from experience-- not I think or I heard it on the internet. Bill
  10. Welcome to the forum. Are you talking about the little 12V air pumps? I did see someone using one of these Viair 40047 400P-RV Automatic Portable Compressor Kit. The key is it has a 150 lb. working pressure. I have seen them on Amazon. Bill
  11. I have lobbied to make it a "Option package" one fully towable with baseplate and lights wired. I would pay $500.00 extra and wait for it to be built. Bill
  12. You are absolutely right. Never use metal scrapers on the aluminum filter bases. Also use a good torque wrench on the bolts. Be very carful to not exceed the listed torque. Bill
  13. Nice coach. Interesting how they have the fuel filler in the slide and the slide is part of the wheel well. How is the fuel filler connected to the tank? I would like to see pictures of how it is routed. Bill
  14. I am spoiled. I can get to everything but the storage at the foot of the bed with the slides in. I advocate looking at any coach you are going to buy with the slides in. I like the fact I can use my coach with the slides in it is like some of the non slide coaches. Rodger was special. Please put your coach in your signature. It will help you to get better answers. Bill
  15. You are just golden Carl. Wonder how it can be my computer when Spell check works in Microsoft edge but part time in Chrome. On the same computer. Bill
  16. Bringing Rodger up again made me smile. ISPJS, I have to ask "We can't cook without opening one slide on our MH." Why? Bill
  17. Just trying to help. I would hate for him to make a mistake. Bill
  18. Welcome to the forum. Yes the filters can degrade. Bill
  19. Here is a little add on about towing I posted before. When I was towing with my Acme dolly I didn't have a problem with the battery. Well OK, once I left the car on all night and the next afternoon the battery was dead. A lot of it depends on what is powered on when the key is on. When using the dolly the lights on the dolly are all that is required. Some add extra lights If you wanted to do that I would think some extra LED lights would be the way to go. When you load the car on the dolly stop with about 2 in between the tire and front stop. Place the hold down straps over the tires. Now place the car in neutral. Now tighten the hold down straps. The reason for doing it this way is the straps will not slide on the tire. This allows the tire to rotate forward and take the slack out of the back side of the strap. After the straps are tight you can put the car in park and set it up for towing. (Acme) Make sure you set the car up based on the dolly manufactures instructions. Some need the steering locked and some like the acme need the steering to turn. Not doing this part right will cause damage to your car. One other thing is be aware the dolly tracks outside the track of your Coach. You need to be aware when turning corners or just going down the road. Your coach might be in the smooth travel lane but the dolly might be off the right edge running on the rumble strip or hitting the lane markers. Watch your mirrors and you can get the hang of it pretty easy. Bill
  20. Isn't that the way it works, the one car you want to tow isn't towable 4 down. By the way welcome to the forum. Is this a all wheel drive? If so you may not be able to tow it using a dolly. If it is front only you should be ok. I used a Acme tow dolly with the surge disk brakes and it worked well. https://cartowdolly.com/?utm_source=bing&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=lg16 Search Tow Dolly - exact%2Fphrase&utm_term=tow dolly for sale&utm_content=Tow Dolly Bill
