Navigation Apps -- Which are Best?
wildebill308 replied to fagnaml's question in Destinations/Attractions
I have had several people tell me they weren't happy with it and they wouldn't refund their money. The base(car) version works well and has settings for your RV for less money. It is always a good thing to verify any route. Bill -
Yes but the OP jpaflag, has a Cat and should be able to install a pump. Bill
-
If you have a place to install it Here is the Cat style pump. http://www.amtequipmentparts.com/fuel-injection-system/lift-pumps/1052508-pump-priming/?_vsrefdom=adwords&gclid=CjwKEAjwjunJBRDzl6iCpoKS4G0SJACJAx-VLsUy5MZAggCZuV2aTFyjOqYJRI09xsLUN4cvdi2PoRoCEkTw_wcB You might look at finding a hand pump you coud use by modifying a spare fuel cap to add preshure to the tank. In the long run I think the answer is to add a new lift pump like Joe did. Bill

The MKT sounds like it is light enough to tow with the HR Vacationer 32A. Bill

Navigation Apps -- Which are Best?
wildebill308 replied to fagnaml's question in Destinations/Attractions
I had WAZE and deleted it because of what Bill A said. I now use CoPilot and it has worked well. (I don't recommend the one for RV.) The good part is you can download all your maps over wifi so you don't use data. You can set parameters for your RV so it won't send you down inappropriate roads. You can also set it to notify you at set distances before a turn, up to 2 miles. I use it on a tablet (12") so it has a bigger screen than those stand alone units. Bill -

Well they didn't lie to you. You want to stay off the GW. The last time I got caught and went over the GW it was $76.00. Why not look at going down I-84 and pick up 287 South then I-78 to I-81 to I-83 to Harrisburg then State highway 15 into Gettysburg. Bill

I-40 Across Arkansas and Eastern Oklahoma
wildebill308 replied to obedb's question in Destinations/Attractions
There are places everywhere on any road that the road has rough places. I was on I-40 twice last year and some places are great and some not so great. Bill -
The key is to have one. I tried to get buy without one when I got this coach. We had spent a bunch getting ready for our first trip and I thought I can get buy without one for one trip. Well one low power event in a campground cost me more in repairs than 2 surge guards would have cost. I have found that they are well waterproof and have been caught in heavy rain and some flooding where I was concerned that it would be a problem. I had to prop it up on some rocks to keep the connections out of the water but never a problem. Bill

Welcome to the forum. I have the Surge Guard portable. I like it because I can check power before I park the coach or check outher spots without moving the coach if one is bad. This is the one I have. https://www.amazon.com/Technology-Research-34850-Portable-Surge/dp/B00T36QHUO/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1496890290&sr=8-2&keywords=surge+guard Trust me not having a good one is much more expensive than not having one or a cheap one. Both Hondas I have came with a valet key. No apparent limit on usage. Bill

plapen, Well glad you got it driving better. I would drive it for a while before you do anything else. I do recommend you get it weighed and set your tire pressure accordingly. Check and see if it has a "panhard rod" if not that would be what I would look att next. The "panhard rod" cuts down on the tail wag. Bill

If you're running lights are on you don't have the key in accessory. This will definitely drain your battery. Did you pull the fuse? Bill

I would also check the amperage draw of that compressor. If it is hi or fluctuates it is probbabley going bad. Check the blower motor too. Bill

Allowing Towables Vote At Indianapolis In July
wildebill308 replied to jeff753's topic in FMCA Feedback
Both TexanRver and dons2346 make good points. I tend to agree with most of them. I do think cutting out travel and "perks" for the upper management means you won't have anyone wanting to do that job. I think they should be looked at all the same. Attendance at rally's, I believe that Chandler had a large number of "first timers" I seem to remember someone saying the overall membership was up. Maybe it is only down when they want you to vote for letting towables in? I think jleamont is pretty typical of the "younger" RV owner. Still working, has kids still at home and in school with limited travel time. I think it is at the local club and regional rally that will serve his needs and can better addressed them not the Big Super National International interplanetary Rally. Seriously I was at Chandler What's different/better in Indianapolis? Bill -
See one of the early risers beat me to it. I hope he can fix you up. Bill

Try doing a search. I recall several people having that problem. I will try to look tomorrow but I think someone was making gears. Bill

Calling and talking to the campground is always the best way. I was looking at a campground up near Watkins glen NY. They claimed to be "Big rig friendly" and could handle "Big Rigs" . Well when I called the said "yes we can handle BIG RIGS up to 26'" I thanked them and moved on. Bill

Welcome to the forum. I haven't been in that area but I would use RV Parky and double check on RV Park reviews. http://www.rvparky.com/ http://www.rvparkreviews.com/ Bill

Glad you got it sorted out. Bill

I would do or have done a thorough inspection of the slide and all the hardware. Make sure all the rollers are in good shape and nothing is binding. Bill

While I will never go full time again. I think if you were domiciled, say in Texas. when you travel you just call your primary care physician and get a referral. I have done it in the past and /or used a dock in the box when on the road. I may not be "full time" but I am gone as much as 4 months at a time. Never had a problem geting prescriptions or seeing a doctor. I have Unitedhealthcare through AARP. Bill

Air Force 1 vs Roadmaster Brakemaster Systems
wildebill308 replied to punxsyjumper's topic in Toads-Towed Behind Motorhome
Interesting that on page 4 of your owners manuel it says. Always release the stored vacuum in the towed vehicle’s power brake system before towing — pump the brake pedal several times. Depending on the make and model of the towed vehicle, it may be necessary to pump the brake pedal repeatedly to release the vacuum. If the vacuum is not released, the supplemental braking system will apply excessive braking force when it is activated, which will cause severe tire and/ or brake system damage to the towed vehicle.
