  1. To improve the cooling of the dash air, try setting the air on recirculate so you aren't trying to cool the hotter outside air. Bill
  2. That is absolutely true Herman. When I was doing my PDI wich included a test drive because they had changed the rear tires. While waiting for them to get the proper paper tags installed we were running on the generator to keep it cool (it was a typical august day about 105*) The generator shut down. Short story is I said call me when it is fixed. 3 days later it was ready to do the test drive. They had to remove the generator and take it to Cummins FW and get it back installed so I thought 3 days was pretty fast. I don't want to know how long it would have taken if they had the money in their pocket. Bill
  3. I agree for special purposes (off road/special purpose vehicle ) using a trailer may make sense. But for general travel I can't recommend it. Bill
  4. Welcome to the forum. This is an often discussed item. If you do a search you will get plenty of things to read. Personally there is no comparison, 4 down wins every time. I have used a dolly. I now tow 4 down. I never considered using a trailer open or enclosed. Bill
  5. I am with Jo on this. I would be talking to the dealer and factory. Bill
  6. Welcome to the forum. I would start with a place like this. https://www.rvchassisparts.com:8443/aparvchassis/runApp?id=5 Bill
  7. Just wondering why at least some of these things weren't caught when you did your inspection prior to taking delivery? Like "non-functioning generator, crack in the exterior fiberglass wall, vehicle tends to wander when driven, entry step not working". You did take it for a test drive didn't you? Bill
  8. I want to add that it would be a good idea to get a clear sewer hose adapter so you can see if it is flowing clear after you flush out the tank. They come in many angles and length so you should be able to find one that works. I used this as it was the first good picture. You can get them from Camping world or Amazon or walley world. All the instructions on flushing your tank are great but you need this little window to see if it is working. https://www.walmart.com/ip/Camco-39562-Clear-Sewer-Hose-Adapter-3.5-Adapter/54409461?wmlspartner=wlpa&selectedSellerId=0&adid=22222222227057519621&wmlspartner=wmtlabs&wl0=&wl1=g&wl2=c&wl3=161506821305&wl4=pla-269335435589&wl5=9027284&wl6=&wl7=&wl8=&wl9=pla&wl10=8175035&wl11=online&wl12=54409461&wl13=&veh=sem Bill
  9. Welcome to the forum. After reading the excellent advice the only thing I can add is make sure the valves are closed and go have some fun with your new toy. Let us know how the first trip went. Bill
  10. Welcome to the forum Bob. I have been through that area but didn't spend night there. I would use http://www.rvparkreviews.com/ and http://www.rvparky.com/ to look for a place to stay. The place we stayed was East of Conneaut and I wouldn't recommend it to people I didn't like. Bill
  11. Welcome to the forum. That looks like a nice coach. Bill
  12. Welcome to the forum. The gas units are fairly noisy. Like DD said check the exhaust system for leaks. Onan may have a upgrade muffler you could try. The outher thing to check is the rubber mounting brackets as they are probbabley hard with age and transmitting more vibration to your coach. Let us know what you find out. Bill
  13. Welcome to the forum. Did it cool off later? Was the door closed all the way? Bill
  14. Welcome to the forum. Most likely what you are hearing is the valve releasing excess preshure from the system. This is normal unless you arn't building air preshure on your gages. Bill
  15. I can't find where they offer one for 2017 in either FMCA or Remco. The 2016 shows to be towable with the manual transmission. http://www.remcoindustries.com/Towing/Store.php Bill
  16. Carl, that was the sugar coated version. He has a GM guy with tools and knowledge just minutes away. I would be on the phone/road. Bill
  17. Welcome to the forum. Not without rewiring them so they are hot all the time. Some have run a charge line to keep the battery up and tied into that for power to run the Blue Ox Patriot brake. Or you could just run a new circuit from the battery to power a separate socket for the brake. Let us know how it works. Bill
  18. At this point My best recommendation would be to take it to your friend (you said he is familiar with it) and say PLEASE fix it. Bill
  19. What do you have for a toad? Have you looked at towing a car on your travels? You might like to look at the Bounders of America site, http://www.bounder.org/ You might find a chapter near you or a FMCA chapter/club that you can join. Bill
  20. New rotor cap, plug wires, plugs wouldn't hurt. I would look at all the vacuum lines. Make sure it is getting spark advance. I would change all the fuel filters and check fuel pressure. I would recommend you get with Blake. Let us know what you find. Bill
  21. Carl is right, I don't know of any (modern) car that will show milage when towed. Bill
  22. I posted some ideas on your outher post. There are several outher things you might find useful. I recommend you get a surge protector if you don't already have one. I use a Surge gard http://trci.net/products/surge-guard-rv/hardwires-portables/50a-portable-w-lcd-display I like the portable because I have used it to check power before geting the coach setup. Heare are some apps you might find usefull. http://www.rvparky.com/ http://www.rvparkreviews.com/ CoPilot USA, I use the basic version as the RV version has gotten some bad reviews. The basic"car" version has worked very well and you can download the maps on WIFI so you don't use data. Passport America can save you 50% on campgrounds. Yelp, helps you find good places to eat and outer things. Oh, Ranger, locates state and local parks and other interesting things. Gas Buddy, Find cheap gas Visitor Tips, This is like the rack of brochures at the local visatercenter. Rest Stops, finding the next one is always a good thing. Let me know if you have any questions. Bill
  23. Welcome to the form. Nice coach. One thing you got by getting a new Bounder is the new 6 speed transmission. I happen to be a bounder fan two. One thing you might find fun is to spend a night in your driveway. Act like you are at a campsite. This will help you "remember" to add things you will need to your coach. Have a pad and pencil handy to make a list of the things you forgot. I like your plan of just going a short way on your first trip. This way you can get into your campsite and set up without the stress of being tired from your first driving experience. Let us know how it went. Bill
