  1. Bill, I have hear that too-- that it will break loose all the crud in the tanks and lines and cause you to change filters often till it is clean. I have not been brave enough to try it. The highest percentage I have seen on a pump was 50% in Missoula Montana. Bill
  2. New seals are available and I don't know of a separate one designated for RV use. I would do the upgrades to improve shifting and reduce heat. If the OP would do as requested and put his info in his signature....... Bill
  3. Welcome to the forum. If you put your coach info and location in your signature it will help you get better answers. The C-6 is one of Ford's most basic transmissions. If your mechanic is having problems you need a new mecanic. If you are going to pull the transmission I would do a rebuild and upgrade the clutch package and add a shift kit. Get a kit designed for towing as it will work better in the motorhome. Here is a link to help you find parts. https://www.summitracing.com/search/part-type/automatic-transmission-rebuild-kits/transmission-type/c-6 Here is another link. http://www.jegs.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/SearchResultsPageCmd?Ntt=Ford+C-6+transmision+kit&requestYear=&storeId=10001&catalogId=10002&langId=-1&year=&make=&model=&submodel=&engine=&Nrpp=&No=&persistYmm=false I used one of these low speed stall torque converters the last time I rebuilt a motorhome with a C-6 it reduces slippage and improves mileage and reduces heat. http://www.jegs.com/p/TCI/TCI-Maximizer-High-Torque-Towing-Converters/746227/10002/-1 Bill
  4. Welcome to the forum. If you add your coach to your signature it will help you to get good answers to your questions. If you tell us what you need done will dictate what shop to recommend. Bill
  5. There is a slight chance you might have some air in the system and after it is purged out might lower the level and require adding some more fluid. You might check the level in a couple weeks just to keep it from making that annoying noise. Bill
  6. On top of that the slower the speed the the smaller the deviation is. Bill

When you get a chance check your sway bar bushings. I had to replace the ones on my coach and used polypropylene bushings that are a little stiffer (a lot stiffer than the ones missing) and it did help with sway. Bill
  8. What GPS system are you using? My phone and my tablet and my Bankes IQ all have GPS and for the most part agree completely. I have run several 10 mile test and they seem to be right on the money. The banks IQ will do a correction factor for the speedometer. I have to multiply by 5.8% to get actual speed and milage. I use the speedometer on the IQ rather than my coach speedometer. Bill
  9. Wait till you get your EGT gage working. Low EGT= better milage. Next question have you checked the accuracy of your speedometer? I have noticed that the computer when under the control of the cruise control will ad boost higher than I can with the throttle. Bill
  10. I would recommend going into Glacier from the WEST side. Here is my recommendation, take 90 toward Missoula. Just before Missoula take 93 north. Really nice campground at the turn off on 93. Jim & Mary's RV Park, 9800 U.S. 93 N, Missoula, MT 59808, jimandmarys.com, (406) 549-4416 Stay to the west of Flathead lake (I have driven both sides and the west is easier) You can pick up rt 2 in Kalispell. We stayed at Glacier Peaks RV Park & Campground, 3185 MT-40, Columbia Falls, MT 59912, glacierpeaksrvpark.com, (406) 892-2133. Nice park and easy drive to the park. Plan on taking the red bus tour. http://www.glaciernationalparklodges.com/red-bus-tours I also recommend you check snow removal and weather conditions. before driving up to the park. https://www.nps.gov/glac/planyourvisit/conditions.htm Bill
  11. Carl, I think this is a classic case of topic drift. Bill
  12. Your operating temperature should run from whatever the thermostat is to not more than 215 on hills. Re read what wolfe10 posted. When the temperature starts to climb drop one or two gears or as needed to increase engine speed and reduce loading on the engine. Bill
  13. Noit is because you use the wrong TP. I would suggest doing what kaypsmith suggested as that is the most likely problem. Bill
  14. Blake. hear is a good source for information on your Allison transmission. http://www.allisontransmission.com/my-allison You will need your transmission serial number here two. I keep all my serial numbers handy in a file because when you talk to a parts place the first question they ask is "what is your serial number?" Bill
  15. I will have to come over and test yours as I don't have one of those modern fancy toilet's. Bill
  16. One more reason I park the RV and use the toad to explore the area. We stayed at Frontier Bar & Campground, 11296 US-2, Saxon, WI 54559, frontierbarandcampground.com, (715) 893-2461 While we explored the area. Yes there are some rough roads but low trees arn't a problem with the toad. Bill
  17. I don't care if it dissolves it still flushes out of the "holding tank" completely. The only times I have ever heard of a problem with a system plugging up is when someone leaves the black tank valve open. Please show me a post where someone used the right amount of water and had a problem. Bill
  18. Not a problem driving on Rt. 2. I drove it two months ago. What are your plans? Are you going to visit the park? Bill
  19. I got a LED light kit from Blue Ox. Separate light bulbs nothing hooked into the Honda wiring system. Bill
  20. I have used Charmin ultra strong since we got this coach and never had a problem. Please remember it is a holding tank not a septic tank. I have never had a problem emptying the tank. There is anecdotal knowledge (when a campground system backed up) that the paper breaks down pretty completely. Bill
  21. Montana, Colorado or Wyoming. are great in the summer but not that great in the winter. Bill
  22. I don't have that much experience with having a coach towed. However I think it has to do with the language in the plan and the legalese. Bill
  23. I highly recommend you download RVParkey and RV Park reviews http://www.rvparky.com/ http://www.rvparkreviews.com/ Bill
  24. One thing I want you to be aware of and it applies to most of the different companies, I am more experienced with Coach Net. You get a choice when you call in as to whether you want to have it towed or have a tech come out to you. If the tech can't fix it and it needs to be towed it is on your dime. So what you have is a concierge service that has a list of people to call and that pays for the service call. You are responsible for parts and the techs hourly charge, usually less than a shop. The same for whatever shop it is towed to. Your plan to have it towed home may work but if the first "qualified" shop is closer you may have to pay the difference to your place. Bill
  25. Yes we are traveling with the Red River Rovers. We had a little rally at Choctaw Casino. Bill
