  1. Not many coaches comes with a spare tire, but the provider can bring a tire, and the cost of the tire would be the only cost. Of course one can purchase a new tire "not on a rim" and carry it in their basement compartment. I have done this for years, you will be surprised how little room it actually takes up, little used items can be placed inside the tire and larger items can be placed within the inner circle. Two miles towing cost me $525.00 last year for towing, I thought my AAA RV plus had expired, so I didn't call, I did call to reinstate after returning home the next week. When I called, the lady at AAA informed me that it had not expired, my wife had placed it on auto renewal, after she told me this, I asked if I might enter the claim after the fact, she said that she would e-mail a form, filled it out and mailed it in, must have the original invoice, not a copy, within two weeks my check arrived, and I was surprised that it was for the full amount. Yes, roadside assistance in a very worthwhile investment for RVers.
  2. Edge is the newest browser from Microsoft and is included on Windows10, I don't like the look of the forum using Edge. I still use IE11 on my 10 machines, it is also included on 10, just go the search line, type in ie11, it will appear at the top of the search results, you can then right click and pin it to the start menu, or to the task bar.
  3. Probably need to pull the tag wheel, inspect the bearings, replace if needed, or maybe just correct the play in it and then replace the seal. There is an oil seal that has probably gone bad. Brake pads are probably soaked with oil also if it is leaking that bad.
  4. Many of the newer LED fixtures at Home Depot, Lowes, and other box stores are designed to be used on 120 volt AC, they have a built in converter from 120 AC to 4 or 12 volt DC, leds use approximately 4+ volts DC that's why you normally see them in clusters of three on a 12 volt circuit.
  5. Try swapping the positive and negative leads that attach from the coach wiring to the led's, some of the fixtures use black and white and can be misleading. Being LED "light emitting diode", it is an electrical one way check valve, if wired backwards it will not light. Worst thing that can happen is that it won't work either way.
  6. $7500.00 just for 800ah battery install? This seems very pricey. Is there enough room to add 4 more golf cart batteries, this will double your capacity, ie., double the dry camp ability. If you are going to just 800ah lithium, that is about what doubling your four will do. Solar upgrade may well be in order for keeping batteries charged, but I would rethink the battery upgrade for that amount of money.
  7. This site does the picture problem every time I have tried to post one also, I'm surprised that it let you finally post yours. Rich the size was already 131 kb almost 1/4 of the 500 allowed. I've tried 50 kb before and still does this to me.
  8. I like to use a good Teflon oil, such as Remington gun oil, usually holds up very well. I have used it on printers for years, I put it on then wipe the excess oil about 30 minutes later, this helps reduce the dust buildup.
  9. On a previous coach, the size that was mounted and blew was not a popular size, I actually replaced two to the correct size for less money than one of the incorrect oddball size.
  10. The refer requires 12 volt to work on any option, AC or LP. As stated above make sure that a disconnect hasn't been set to the disconnect position. If the interior lights are working, then disconnect is on. Check for fuse if other coach appliances are working. Also, some of the refers has a reset on the control board that may need resetting.
  11. If I read correctly, he said 30%, not 30%off. 70% off of msrp would be a pretty good deal on a 6.5 year old coach if in good to great condition.
  12. How many batteries do you have total? What is the voltage reading after replacing the two? Does the fridge come on if LP mode? Need to know these things to help. Also, were these items working before going to the shop?
  13. Well, it turns out that I will be making an impromptu trip to Lake City Fla., this weekend, that's about 170 miles north of Orlando. If the OP hasn't found a teacher yet, I will be more than happy to go there to meet and give a lesson or two. Just PM me here, I will be happy to send my e-mail and phone number. I have given instructions many times before. Only cost, one good meal. We have sickness in the DW's family is reason for the quick decision. I'll be there Monday 4/25 till Friday 4/29.
  14. Sorry, I didn't put enough info, while I was traveling in Feb., Construction about 6 miles east of the bridge was down to one lane for about a mile, was a busy time of the day 5 pm there had been a wreck because, you probably guessed it, some nuts, wouldn't move to the proper lane that was signified as soon as they came off of the bridge, took two plus hours to get passed it.
  15. And we don't have to worry about who slept in the same bed in the past. Good depiction, "Gramps". Thanks for pointing it out so well.
  16. You will not be crossing that bridge going the route stated. You will pass within 3.5 miles of my house which is just after going through B'ham. I crossed that bridge the last of February in an automobile, was not too bad at that time, and I did see quite a few large semi's crossing at that time with no apparent problems, though there was a big delay coming back home due to construction on the interstate east of the bridge, you will not be going anywhere near that same construction. I-59 between Chattanooga Tn. and Ft. Payne Al has been resurfaced about 80% at this time, and is much better than before, I-59 has minor construction just before I-12, no major delays.
  17. Joe, do you have a date set yet, and what route will you take?
  18. Twenty five miles west of Carrabelle, just a little piece after crossing the Apalachicola Bay, there is a very nice Coastline RV Resort right on Hgy. 98, overlooks the waters between the coast and St. George Island. It is a quiet resort with many amenities, I highly recommend this one. There is also Coastline in Carrabelle, never stayed at the one Carrabelle, but have a friend that loves it. While in the area, be sure to ride over to St. George Island and visit the state park there, I will be there May 21 for a week, but one must make reservations six months to a year in advance for the state park cg., if it is anywhere close to a holiday.
  19. Also don't know if you are aware of this, my wife has been a caregiver over 40 years, many of the hospice facilities, where people that cant be helped for, will actually take a person such as your mom and put them up for you just for a getaway for vacations, and emergencies and the like, for free, and give them better care than they will receive in a regular nursing home. Just a tidbit for those that do not know.
  20. Drock, welcome to the forum, also would love to have had the opportunity to full time with the kids. There are many sites to see in this beautiful country, I don't believe they could all be seen in a lifetime. As for schooling the girls, there are alternatives to ever coming back home for that reason. I have met many who homeschool their kids, and keep on traveling. With the advent of the internet being able to go with you wherever you go, that is all required to do the homeschool bit. Also being in web design, that can be accomplished from almost anywhere also. As for what type of coach, that will be a big decision by the family heads. Look forward to seeing you on the road.
  21. Don't know where in Florida you are traveling, but if going through Dothan then Troy Al., just north of Troy, there is a park called Deer Run. It is a Good Sam park, very quite and very nice park.
  22. Joe, S-cam. JoeG, the trailer hitch looks to be properly constructed for 8 to 10,000 towing capabilities. It is one of few that I have seen that is not attached to the motor rail. If you are a tinkerer, then you will find it to be a fun machine, but as stated by another reply, there is certainly something to do nearly all the time. Also, be aware that the wiring to the trailer is 24 volts, I have replaced all the lights on my trailers with 12/24 volt led lighting which works well because now I can hook to a standard 12 volt or 24 volt now. Also if you use electric brakes on your trailer, provisions will be necessary for proper voltage to that system. All lights on that bus are 24 volt, though the system may have been upgraded to an equalizer system in which case the headlights may have been changed to 12 volts, while all others remain 24 volts.
  23. I think Carl is what Monoco Wanted!!!!!
  24. Try this page in the norcold manual. http://www.manualslib.com/manual/327961/Norcold-N500.html?page=6#manual If the batteries are reading low, you might want to charge them before doing anything else.
  25. Bill, my wheels torque at 800 ft/lbs., last time I tried to remove front wheel with pull handle (Snap On) 3/4 with 10 foot cheater, the 3/4 end on the Snap On, Snapped Off, so I feel your pain. I now carry a 1200 ft/lb 1 inch air ratchet, and have had to loan it to the RV repair guy to change my tire.
