I use Verizon MIFI at home and on the road. I have not found many places where it doesn't work well. Ran a speed test last weekend, was pulling 17 meg down, and 17 meg up, I have 10 meg fiber at the office, and it doesn't download or upload as fast as MYFY, of course it is unlimited data, as opposed to 6 gig on myfy.

That is correct Lenp, any appliances that was in the side carrying 240 volts would smoke, any appliances on the circuit that was not hot will be OK. My earlier comments only apply to the wiring in the walls. The appliances that were in the situation with 240 volts will be toast because their amp draw is less than the circuit breaker, they became fuses.

The circuit breakers inside your coach should have done their job, and if they did the wiring should be fine. Also if any appliances were turned on at the time this scenario was a fact, the 50 amp in the breaker box where the black and white were wired incorrectly should have blown. An experienced electrician can conduct a simple test using a gfci breaker at each circuit at the breaker box, checking for leakage in all wiring inside the coach. If this test proves successful, I would not be concerned any longer. If there were any 120 volt light bulbs, and normally are not any inside a coach, but they will normally blow instead of a breaker because of low amperage. But I would certainly call on a qualified electrician for evaluation, and the insurance adjuster, if not qualified, will have one do the eval.

The Mayor of our city has a 1990 Beaver Contessa, has been garage kept since day one except when on trips. It looks, rides, and drives like new. Gillig chassis as Brett said still makes busses, and that chassis is like the Rock of Gilbralter, Cat 3208 was a very good engine. If you have any doubts about the engines livelihood, ask for an oil sample to take to Cat dealer, dealer will supply a canister for this purpose. The dealer can almost tell how many hours the engine has been run, and how many more it will last, and in a motorhome, probably the rest of our lives. Good luck and happy trails.

We have a dishwasher at home, and not in the motorhome. My wife washes the dishes at home thoroughly then puts them into the dishwasher, and I stand there looking dumbfounded???? In the motorhome, she washes them thoroughly, then puts them into the cabinet, and I smile!!!!

Either 30 amp service wired for 240, or 120 volt wired to neutral leg of a 50 amp could "boil over". If it is truly 50 amp, electrician needs to pay for repairs.

Harbor Freight, and tractor supply has a very inexpensive tow bar that can be used if this is an older pu., with the old steel bumper.

I prefer towing a trailer, because I can back the trailer. My bus is 41 feet, and the trailer is 19 including the tongue. Most state and some federal parks that I go to allow me to park the trailer in a parking lot. If not available I can usually locate a facility close by that will allow me to rent a space for a small fee, as mentioned earlier, plan ahead.

If it's the old orange beetle, commonly called ladybugs, the only thing that works for me is a vacuum cleaner, I put a moth ball in the canister, then suck them up.

The major issue with older buses is rust. I don't own a Bluebird but have built several buses into motorhomes. Be sure to look underneath and behind any panels for rust signs. This includes the baggage compartments, battery compartments, inside the motor doors is another inspection point. The old buses are great and pretty easy to maintain, good luck with your endeavors.

Yes, there is a check valve built into the pump, and as stated above it may be weak, defective, or just some debris in the valve, which can cause the situation you described to happen. I always install a commercial grade check valve after the pump because they are much more reliable than the one built into the pump.

Not quite as dry a county as it used to be. They have legalized sale of alcohol products which are made locally. Gatlinburg has the moonshine still on premises, with sampling going on and sales on site. Pigeonforge has new sales store right by the new ferris wheel. Both cities have local wineries also. I travel the "backroads" frequently, very similar proportions to yours. I use an rv gps to help navigate the roads. There are some precarious places that you must look out for. I have never known of an actual minimum height requirement proposed by dot on some of these roads, and you certainly need to be aware that there can be places that you should not go. I once recall a bridge in Georgia that the local deputy came by while I was negotiating a very low bridge on the way to the local campground, he actually climbed my rear ladder and directed me under the overpass. But overall experiences have been favorable, and the sites are often well worth being cautious. Watch for weight restrictions on the bridges also. When in doubt, check it out!!!! What brand is the bus, and model #, ie., mci, prevost, silver eagle? I have a friend here in B'ham, Al. who does Greyhound repairs, and knows many who do this in various cities.

This size tire is commonly used on wreckers of the smaller size. You might try calling a towing service for some reference, or a possible rent.

DD, I have a friend who moved the receiver to the left, in an effort to see his toad in the rear view mirror. Worked well as long as he stayed in the right lane, when moving to the center or left land, pull was too great to deal with. Only to demo DD's comment.

Adding to Brett's comment, I have started using 4000 grit wet/dry sanding disc's with loop backing, can be found at automotive paint stores. I use water on the D/A tool, very high gloss for final finish.

I have run my Samsung fridge for three and a half years on msw inverter, runs every time I take a trip and works well. I use a 3000 watt msw inverter to power everything in the coach except air conditioners.
