manholt replied to Dsellman's topic in Toads-Towed Behind Motorhome
I'm truly sorry and you have my condolences Wayne! That's got to hurt. I do think that one wrong, would have sufficed. 5 is over kill, Oh well, sounds like he's headed to land... -
2017 Ford Explorer flat tow question
manholt replied to dstrahm's topic in Toads-Towed Behind Motorhome
Because it's over 4,500 pounds curb weight. I would call Winnebago Tech Dept. and ask if the rear axel is rated for that weight. Your hitch rating is not the only consideration!- 4 replies

Applying Dinghy/Towed Vehicle Brakes
manholt replied to grnordstrom's topic in Toads-Towed Behind Motorhome
dstahm. Sorry, was a private dig between me and Tom! We are both well versed in Physics. -
RShrimp. Welcome to the Forum! Did you do that or have it done?

Saint. Welcome to the Forum! When the generator is on or shore power, are the batteries charging? If so, then check the inverter circuit breaker, it may be off and that would prevent your house 12V system to not come on. Look at your house batteries and check water level if acid and make sure all connections are clean and tight, including ground wires. There is a CB on your generator, check it also!

WBill. That's a great idea! Would benefit all of us, no matter where we live! DD69. Even where you live and travel, every paved surface has abrasive chemicals that affect you...especially during and after a rain event.

Verizon/FMCA Jetpack issues/worthless at RV Parks
manholt replied to dianahc's topic in RV Internet to Go/Staying in Touch
Does it have a name, or would that be better on PM? -
James. Welcome to the Forum! Informative information is always welcomed. I started calling them 5'rs here on the Forum, easier than typing out Fifth Wheel...passed that an to friends with 5'rs, now their using it. Thanks to you, I can now share some historical (maybe) facts with them!

My reply disappeared somewhere between 4pm and now! Guess I'll stay quiet.

FIVE, Your correct and as we say, "It's a rolling earthquake"! WBill. Between me and the Gal with the Rubber hammer, we can get the basic things done! However Vertigo (Linda) and bad knees (me) and old age on both of us, we can't slide under a coach or climb on the roof anymore! We accept that. Jim S. Lots of people have more money than I and Linda combined...Same goes for our POTUS or Bill Gates for that matter! You and I just got to feel good about not having to have body guards in another coach...look at all the money we are saving!!!

Kay. You forgot about your first love...working with wood. -
How do you plan on getting to Carlsbad or where are you now?
-
Herman. I have been on PM with Kevin for the past hour...he fell thru the crack. Also told him about Six State, but you do a much better job at it...I'm just a Captain!

luvmemonoco! Welcome, I'm sending you a PM!

Newmar is not the only Manufacturer with "Comfort Drive"! Just called by a different name & have been around for a long time! I have a variation of it on mine & FIVE has the same, both AC's!

2007 CC. What model and year/ HP engine? 07 is the year CC filed for Bankruptcy....also the year, EPA mandate for Particulate regenerated filter became law. Your question as has been stated so many times before, is "How secure do you feel about a $5K bill"? I do self insure, also have a 2009 engine (Particulate filter) and it will have to be taken out and baked at some point. Then replaced at some point. Baked is $2,500 + Labor, new is $5,000+ plus Labor! I have that & more covered, so I'm not concerned and sleep soundly at night.

DBenoit. Depends on what your smoking!

John. Your not missing anything! Ken is right, you'll be much happier in the long run, with the Bilstein!
-
Make sure it's a "true one ton"! Not a wana be 3/4. Between 3 working ranches, my SO, Linda and I have several of both...all long beds, except for a 1984 Dodge one ton, it's short bed with a built in welding generator.

Jim S. If I could get away with $600, I would...not in any hurry to stimulate the economy! Wayne. Hope that was on the coach that drowned? Jim. I had a 2007 Tour 40' DK. Not bad/not good, my cost in 5 years was about $30K, Insurance paid out another $20K !
-
snickers. Welcome! Was at the KOA 3 years ago....had no problems getting in or out. I have a 45' with 4 slide's & a toad ! If you include in your profile, the year, make, model and length of coach (like Bill and I have), then it makes it easier for us to answer questions in the future!

Last year in Chandler, AZ, at FMCA Rally, my 2013 Wrangler Automatic was towed in and left hooked up, until we departed, 4 days later. I started it and disconnect from Coach, in Deming, NM. Did not hurt Jeep any! Not fond of RUMORS !!!

I just love the encouragement from friends! Why $19K ? Tree fall on it, or hail damage? RV Rhino Armor = $5,600, life of the coach warranty is transferable! We had dinner with 4 friends, that had it done to their coaches, very happy! I'm going to speak with my Insurance agent, Tuesday.

Welcome! Would be helpful, if we knew what type, size and make of rig that you have. Most maps are for cars, not big RV's, especially underpasses and tunnels!
