  1. West View opened last year and has no cotton wood trees! Stayed in Dolores for 6 summer's, lot's of trees. Both have great access to the San Juan mountains and within a hour of Telluride, 2 hour drive to Moab, Utah!
  2. STUDEBRUCER. I have one that came with this coach, everything you want and more. First thing I did, was to disable the GPS...POS and took me to places I did not want to go, including a Farmers field in AZ., I had to be towed out. Get a stand alone Garmin or a old fashion MAP ! I would get both.
  3. Herman. Yes, via PM, I now know that. There is another Jaime in DP that is a Gun Smith, we played tag at the 2016 Six State in Shawnee, OK. My cost $7,200+ !
  4. Roland, good to hear, now you can sleep easier!
  5. We go every Summer to Dolores River RV Park in Dolores, CO. Or West View rv park, Cortez, CO.
  6. numbersman. Welcome to the Forum! He runs a business and we don't allow solicitation on the Forum. That said, he's information is still available (due to the usefulness of his product). Please contact Joe direct off of Forum....all the info you need is listed. Happy trails
  7. 3 days the first time, will give you a long wish list for second time. There are 2 very good golf courses on Island, but I prefer the Moody Muni $35. Galveston Country Club is semi Private, opened in 1892 and was $64 during week. Moody Gardens Pyramids ( one is Rain Forest, one Antarctica, the other is more for kids ), Great Steakhouse on top of Moody Hotel/Resort $$$$, another Steakhouse is in Saint Louis Hotel $$$$, Mario's Italian, Landry's Seafood, Fish Tale's, The Warf, Willie G's and about 30 others! You name the food, we got it. On a Sunday, make reservation at the Galvez Hotel Brunch Buffet. We are handicap friendly in 95% of the Island. Ref: New Orleans...ACME Restaurant on Bourbon and 2nd. is a great oyster house and Benigans is a 1/2 block away. Sonesta Hotel on Bourbon has the old Royal Orleans Restaurant. Any café or eateries on the Jackson Square area is good to great....I would stay away from K Paul's or any "Food Channel" restaurants...all for the tourist, not authentic Créole food. Not much Cajun food in NO. For that you need Baton Rough or Lafayette ! NO is African/Indian fare, tomato based food, also Greek and Portuguese Sea food along the water front.
  8. BillE. Welcome back to our Family Forum! Sorry we where unable to connect in March, Linda was hoping to be with your better half again!
  9. Dan. Since we now have a deal with Continental, would it be easier to get them lined up in Canada....Would think they are already there. That might peak Michelins interest ?
  10. Jaime. Nice ride! You a photographer or gun smith? I know a Jamie in DP.
  11. Joe. Makes sense after 16+ years, look at Dometic/DuoTherm, they have some new ones out that are lower and also 15,000 BTU and much quieter than what you have. At 41 foot, 3 is not overkill....I would go with a 9,000BTU in bedroom and 2 of the 13,500's....saves you a ton of $$$
  12. The care & feeding of our toys! Sure would like one year of ZERO expense!
  13. Richard. There are not many RV owners out there, who have 45 year old coaches. Majority of coach owners, specially 5'ers and TT's, get a new or new to them coach, about every 10 years! Therefore it's not necessary to change out roof AC units. Motors and fans, with shafts, yes, but you don't have to take the whole unit off, to do so! From 1967 to present, I have never had to buy a new, whole unit. Eric. What do you have behind the 2 lights that are leaking? Are the 2 lights in the ceiling of the main coach body or in a slide out? Not trying to be nit picky,, just isolating the issue, that your having. You mentioned rain coming in at a 45 degree angle...Front, rear or side? Carl C.
  14. Roland. I can't add anything to that, other than to say that Lagoons RV Park, Rockport is open again! Rockport and Aransas Pass, got hit hard by a Hurricane in September 2017 and are suffering rebuilding of infrastructure! The Navy has a nice Famcamp in CC and will accommodate you. Wayne should have the # to call or just Google.
  15. Wayne, June, July, August, September, you do not want to be in any part of Texas! High 80's now, couple of weeks and you'll wish for 80's. WBill. Dellanera, was rebuilt after Hurricane IKE and it's a City Park. Tight? Yes, very! Currently there are 7 RV parks, including State Park, with over 2,000 spaces available! out of those 7, 3 are Resorts! That's what happens when you have 5 cruise ships a week. Over 14,000 hotel rooms.
  16. You can also send a PM to RSBILL EDWARDS, he has 2 Safari's, I think one is a 95'. He has taken both apart and put back together again, with modifications over the years!
  17. I never had a sardine with a pedigree ! One of the biggest Sardine Factories was in Monterey, CA. But as I wrote earlier, there is the Med and the NSea, also Pacific and off the coast of So. Chili. So if Portugal claims to have the thru sardine, OK.
  18. Ditto, X3, works the same for "Significant Other"! The only difference between DW & SO. Is a piece of paper, ring and I do!
  19. No DEF on a 2011 coach? Did you buy a 2009 Cummins and swap out engines? Cetane don't do much, since you don't get enough of it, in a bottle of additive. Believe that was discussed and proven early last year!
  20. My favorite also! Been there many times before Linda, next year, I'll give her a visual...she has never been! I agree with the Cod, I grew up on Cod and Cod cheeks, tongue and tail, in Norway.
  21. I'll give you more next month, I'll be on Island and go pick up a lot of stuff from Chamber of Tourism...maps, things to see, eat, stay, etc! No trip is complete without a Ferry ride when you depart (Free)! We took it 2 weeks ago...trill for Linda!
  22. Question. How do you take it off or does it live with rig forever? If forever, I would install RV Armor first, $140 per foot, from end cap seem to front cap seem!
  23. OK, look under camping, I just did a post for Joe on Galveston...Make your reservations for Mobil, NO, Galveston and CC, within the next 2 weeks!
  24. Still cold I bet. Congrats to grandson!
  25. Linda and I stay at Stella Mar, it's a mile from my house and easy in/out. Across the Hwy from beach and a nice biker bar! Get a pull thru in the middle and you will not hear anything at night, but your own breathing! It's about 2 miles from water park & Moody Gardens with the three pyramids (not to be missed)! Down town district is 10 minutes away! Sandpiper is on East end of Island, nice, not quiet in June! That sand gets mighty HOT. 15 min drive to downtown, 30+ to water park and Moody gardens!
