What I can't understand, is why you all are putting up with the Norcold BS over the years! I would have replaced the whole unit with a residential. I'm not into the mental and emotional strain, that all of you seem to enjoy! Carl

I just got off Google on a problem with removing stains from toilet. Mine is a Dometic Master Flush and it clearly states to use non abrasive, no alcohol and no petroleum based cleaners! It gives a list off the good and a list off the bad....on the bad list is Pinesol. I then checked out our complete waste water system including black, found the same info on no petroleum based powders or liquids! I used cleaning bubbles and it works on everything, not just sink, toilet or shower! Just thought you would like to know.

Tom, sorry you had to see that. Never a pretty sight! Still, I don't have a front engine and no gas. DP and it takes more effort to light than gas. If for some reason I have an engine fire when asleep I will still have to exit via front door! That is what I practice.

All wonderful ideas, in a perfect world! I doubt you will go thru all the steps in panic mod. I have seen the film and been to the seminar and yes it gives you plenty of ideas. So does movies from Hollywood! In reality, I'm 6 foot 8 inches tall at 220 pounds and going on 73 years old. I can't get my body to do now, what was easy 50 years ago!!! I have, like you, an escape window in the rear bedroom, side bath and living room. Bath room is the only one with out wood trim and a pretty valance! Go figure.... I never lock my front door, when I'm in coach and it may not be a perfect escape in the event of fire, but it beats any of the above! My coach has no Propane, so it has to be an Electric short to start a fire! Bear in mind, that the only way a window might work for you, is that you and whoever you are with, are going to have to practice over and over throwing out ladder, propping up window and literary exit!!! Works fine in a real house, but? Carl

OK. Just always wondered. Coming to Dolores, CO., I had no problem at all. Coolant temp was 196-199, oil temp 202. Outside temp 85 - 95 and CC set at 58mph in 5th and 6th gear! Failing thermostat? MPG suck anytime in mountains, I'm at 7218'. Carl

Brett, Why distilled water and not regular filtered? Also, I did not run dash air! Carl
-
Thank you, Brett. I will call them later this morning. Read about your suggesting distilled water on another post. The compatibility issue was also on my mind yesterday....my eyes has a problem reading a 2 font! Small print on legal documents, fine. On important information, like compatibility is insane! Carl

rwitt. Do you down shift while climbing steeper hills? I found that it was hard to keep my rpms on I-5 in Northern CA. and Oregon while climbing, due to some "crazy" reverse slanted curves! Downshifting to 5 or 4 my speed up was steady. Carl

Rich, thank you for the fast reply! Wish I could answer your questions, but I have no book or info on my 09' 425 Cummins. Never messed with coolant since I leave it to Cummins Coach Care to take care off it. Every 12 months or 15,000 miles. That is engine, liquids, oil change, ck filters, etc. Also, Allison and Generator! Had no warning on Silverleaf....oil temp was 202. Coolant 198-203. Carl

Yesterday, coming from Ruidoso, NM to Roswell, NM my check engine light came on and so did the coolant level low message, with the beep, beep. Outside temp was 77. I filled with fuel in Roswell and got 2 gallons of Rotella Ultra ELC to go. Checked my Silver Leaf and the engine computer both on my way down mountain and between Roswell and Grant, NM., coolant temp showed 198-203, outside temp from Roswell to Grant was 87-98. The warning lights and signal, never came back on! My Cruise control was set at 58 all day. Question is, do I add coolant or distilled water before leaving for Cortez, CO, this morning? Or leave it alone? Cummins did an annual service 4,618 miles and 9 months ago! Carl

rhart. Welcome. I would practice backing up with toad attached. Both my wife and I did that, it came in handy on more than one occasion. Since I have traveled solo for the past 25 years, I have, in a lot off cases, not been able to separate toad from bus. 5-10 feet in most cases, is what was needed. At my last fill up, the 18 wheeler in front off me, overshot the DEF pump by about 5 feet, I put it in revers and gave him enough room to do the same...made his day! Good luck.

Tom, You got that covered real well. The only thing I would add, is that we drive slower than most 5th wheel's! Got to go where your at. My bucket list! Carl

Madison 2015 -- Big Disappointment
manholt replied to dkreuzen's topic in FMCA Madison, Wisconsin, 2015
Brett. That is the first time I have heard, that such a law even exits in any state. Why then, would FMCA have a annual reunion in such an environment? Members and non-members travel from all over, at great expense, to see as many new coaches and vendors as possible, in one location. As a member, I have 2 main reasons to be at a reunion, one is for the fellowship and the other is to be able to buy! As a National Director for SWG INTO, it's an obligation. Sorry, but I'm not a believer in PC! Steve, don't take it as a personal attack on your State or you! Carl -
We are not a truck. Then again, a motorhome can't stop as fast as a car! The mass of my 45' DP, dictates how fast I feel comfortable at any given condition. The speed limit above 65 means nothing to me...in Texas, most rural roads are 70 or 75 for both cars and trucks, I-10 in West TX. is 80! We do not differentiate between hauling a trailer/toad or not. I tend to set my cruise control at 63, because I'm not in a hurry to get anywhere! If I was, I would fly! California's Interstates if your towing = 55 max. There probably are other states, with the same restriction! Stay safe out there...

Good morning Brad. For the latest update: http://fire.ca.gov/ Have a safe trip!

I have and like Blue Sky. You can find them via goggle. Low rates, vanishing deductible, great coverage including windshield. Since they don't advertise, they can keep the rates low.

OK everybody. I stand corrected and have no difficulty in admitting that I was wrong! Information in, information out...I should have checked it out and didn't until now. I apologize for that! Carl

Tom538. Was your RV Park stay at Cross Road? Carl

Herman. I had mine serviced in January and it's working fine so far. I was wondering about the seals and internal components-- if higher than B-10 would have an adverse affect. I'm heading for Panama the 9th of Oct. Cruise from LA to Puerto Rico!

John. I was on it 2 years ago and other than construction, lots of traffic, twists, turns and up/down hills, I had no problem. Just take it easy, every car and 18 wheeler thought they where a sports car! Luck Carl

Matching Ceramic Tiles: 2000 Monaco Diplomat
manholt replied to kenney58's topic in General Discussion
Check for a Tile only shop, flooring shop or via FMCA, Monaco Club. If that doesn't work, I like Kay's idea! -
jeepman. Welcome to our Forum. Kay's got the answer, not me. No thanks, I got my own roof junk!!! Carl
