Transynd was an option from Allison at the time the chassis was spec'd. Some manufactures spec'd them with it some did not. If it were me i'd have it changed out so you have a base line moving forward.

TD, thank you for sharing and I can understand your frustration. 2011 ANY coach is likely to be a headache, and to narrow it down most built between 2007 and 2016 would also be a concern of mine. When the economy flipped so did quality, not just with the coach builder finding ways to build them for less but the parts and materials suppliers also did. A few manufactures in those years were sourcing materials from over seas and adding labels to their interiors warning the occupants not to be exposed to these materials longer than 12 hours in a 24 hour period. Add one more layer Govt regulations on diesel emissions were gradually getting tighter while everyone was struggling to keep the lights on spending millions they didn't have to meet the govt mandates. I'm not making excuses for these manufactures what they did was terrible, but it wasn't just one manufacture, you will find that this was across all coaches until you step up into the custom high end lines in those years. You need to give this consideration when making your next purchase so you don't get deja vu next year talking about your 2014 Tiffin.

redeye2, do you have LED lighting inside? I have seen the Amazon LED's from China (all cheaper ones)will flicker when any pump is running, have heard people complain when they were deploying their jacks the interior looked like a disco.

Great photos guys!! I clean ours annually on my winter portion of maintenance before I put it away for the season. Garden sprayer and Simple Green Extreme Motorsports. Monaco left me two access holes between the stack to get up in there and soak it down. I have a side radiator so its not so bad, but I still get some crud that is drawn in from Campgrounds without paved roads. Our coach has an aggressive fan drive hydraulic system (pre computer and wax valve design) RV's require a lot of routine maintenance to keep them on the road (not to be confused with road side ) this is just one more piece of the puzzle, along with checking electrical connections that is probably not published in any manual and no shop will perform it without asking, and I'd bet that most will just blow compressed air in and call it a day .- 45 replies

The only complaints I have heard was trying to get the cable adjusted properly. It’s either too tight and over braking the Toad or too loose and not applying the brakes. When the cable seems right along comes a big hill and that goes about the window quickly. I considered one until I heard about the frequency of fussing with the cable adjustment.

Being that Bobcat up here . I’ll redo the flower beds also

Does it turn over and not start? If so how long did you hold the start switch before releasing it? Our C the generator was up front and the fuel source is in the rear, if it sat a while unused it would crank for a long time before fuel could react the generator. I can remember a good 15-20 seconds before it would sputter, usually stall out, then again on the start switch for 5 seconds before it would start.

Ahh, ingenuity! I might just do the same with these two next year, no way will I pay someone to do that job. Thanks for the description details!

Honestly, the hardest part is getting the new units onto the roof. My first time ever Replacing one was on our old coach, once it was on the roof (ducted system) I was done in 35 minutes. Getting the new one off the roof was fun . Largest game of shot put ever and boy was it satisfying . Current coach is getting upgraded next year to twin 15,000 BTU Penguins with heat pumps and a new thermostat (old 5 button not compatible). Different design duct system which looks to be a little more tricky with a Monaco that the Coachmen was.

My money is on this or a faulty clutch fan. A through cleaning is step #1 and by far the most cost effective. A water pump could be an issue if the engine wasn't properly maintained prior to you purchasing it, like high PH deteriorated the impeller. Curious, when you hit those temperatures above 225 did you happen to hear the fan, it should have been loud roaring back there will all of that heat hitting the thermostat on it.- 45 replies

Agreed, had some of that while in TX, it was good! -
I am curious to hear how it flat tow's. It has the same steering design in the Cherokee that has been a real PIA for everyone that has one, hoping it doesn't follow over the the Wrangler. Once you get it on the road keep us posted.

WOW for once PA isn't so bad. $180.00 per year based off of the GVWR, ours is 36,000 lbs. PA doesn't care about GCWR on a Motorhome. Cars are $45.00 a year each or around that anyway.
