I have never used aux lights. Have always used the stock lights with blocking diodes. Be doing that in our rv shop for 40 years and on my own toads for all those years and 400k miles.

The surge brakes may give you a problem if you are on mountain hills. The problem is when going down steep hills the brakes are always on and they overheat and destroy themselves. My solution was to remove the surge coupler and install a fixed coupler and install a air over hydraulic master cylinder. Now the air brakes, through the proportional valve, applies the appropriate amount of braking for the dolly. I have been using this system for several years. I don't know if you have air brakes on your m/h, if you don't electric brakes would be the answer.

House Battery Replacement ... from Costco?
desertdeals69 replied to pollonbeeche's topic in Electrical
Although more expensive I would recommend AGM golf cart batteries. There are some advantages in doing so. No corrosion or fumes, battery cables stay looking new, they run longer on a charge and recharge faster. We are currently camping in a state park on Mo without hookups and our solar is keeping the batteries up. We have 600 watts of solar and 6 AGMs. This morning in overcast and rain it was still charging at 6 amps. -
I always leave the inverter on because if there is a glitch in the switchover the satellite receivers don't have to reboot.

I use 2 camp sleeping pads from Walmart. Cut holes for the bar attachment and hold in place with 6 ft bungee cords. Been over 200,000 miles without a nick including Alaska.

Towing 2010 Ford Fusion
desertdeals69 replied to matt8892@verizon.net's topic in Toads-Towed Behind Motorhome
I would not flat tow a Ford Fusion because of all the failed transmissions. A manual shift transmission seems to be the way to go. I have a 5 speed that I have towed for about 100,000 miles. -
Both will work fine. When we were an Onan dealer we always used SAE 30.

Do TPMS Affect Tire Balance? How About Stem Extensions
desertdeals69 replied to lkncyclist's topic in Tires
I have Centramatics on and they are not 100%. I think that the tires are more out of balance than the balancers can handle. I tried balancing the wheels on my spin balancer but I am having a problem with the machine. -

Has anyone balanced tires by putting rv antifreeze inside the tire? How about using bb's or something similar? -

I have a 32 ft which I installed a 98 ISB 275 hp with an Allison 3060. My coach weighs 19,000 and I tow a 5400 lb Silverado. When I go coast to coast 2700 miles I average 10.6 mpg. Last week I went from Tucson to Lk Havasu City, 310 miles, and with favorable conditions I got 12.4 mpg. -

When we were there I traveled at 30 to 35 mph on a lot of the roads. We did not suffer any damage. When we would see a construction truck coming our way I would angle to the shoulder at about 35 degrees and stop. Those truck were probably going 75 mph or better spraying gravel all over.
