  1. When we were an Onan dealer we always used 30 w Valvoline.
  2. Mine leaked at the drain fitting where it seals to the pan.
  3. Diesel is $3.19 in Casa Grande Az.
  4. Roughly 40 degrees cooler.
  5. I have a 900 series Norcold and it does not have a 12 volt mode. It needs 12 volt to run on LP or 120 volt.
  6. Thanks for the explaination. When I got home 2 weeks ago and drove my 2 cars out of the garage both factory tire indicators came on. When I checked all 8 tires they were all exactly 6 lbs low. When I had filled them in April with close to 100 degrees they were at 36 lbs. I found it odd that they all were still equal. The cars are 07 and 08 Prius with the same size tires.
  7. The chassis mfg all say don't drill or weld to their frames. I usually find an existing hole and bracket from there.
  8. Hey tireman, I meant to ask you this question when I saw you in Redmond. If I fill my tires first thing in the morning to the correct pressure, what happens when I get to colder climate. We sometimes wake up to 95 plus degrees and if I set my pressures and then go to the Oregon coast where its 38 degrees I am off somewhat. Thanks, Bruce Chong
  9. From Redmond to Morgan Hill Ca on b15 I got 10.43 mpg. About the same as with pure diesel.
  10. The wiring harnesses are manufactured with the stop light circuit activated when the exhaust brake circuit is on. The reason for this is that the vehicle is slowing down and it doesn't know if it is the service brake or the exhaust or Jake brake. How it is wired is up to the coach builder. I am familiar with Sinclair Technologies who manufacture chassis harnesses for most of the RV chassis and a lot of school buses.
  11. Remember if you use a portable compressor, be sure to use a dryer in the air line.
  12. That 4 amp draw is when you are plugged in on 120 volt. When using an inverter it is drawing over 200 amps at 12 volts with my 1200 watt microwave.
  13. You should use a float charger whether left in the coach or not.
  14. I have used my jacks to tilt the coach for maximum fill on more that one occasion.
  15. All you have to do to use your awning hook is to drill a 1/2 inch hole near one of the corners. Thats what I did with mine and have been using them for 10 or so years.

I use a simple switch that I added in the dash area. Since both the house and chassis batteries have leads to the dash I just wired a switch and fuse between the two which will charge the chassis batteries simultaneously with the coach batteries. This works from either the inverter/charger or the solar panels to keep all batteries charged.
  17. I screwed together 2 12"x12" 3/4 ext plywood pieces with sheet rock screws. If I am on soft ground they bend slightly so the next time I use them I turn them over.
  18. I fueled up with b15 in Portland prior to Redmond and did not notice any difference in milage, still getting between 10 and 11 mpg. I am currently in the Sacramento area.
  19. Follow the positive wire from the converter to see where the current comes from.
  20. I use Tire Minder on my coach and toad. Although the pressures don't agree with my gauges neither do my gauges agree with each other! Like Brett says, just be aware of the changes.
  21. If you use hydrogen peroxide you don't have to flush out the tank. I use 1 pt to about 15 gal of water in the tank and then run all of the faucets so the treated water is in the pipes. Let stand for 15-30 minutes then fill the tank and use as usual.
  22. Look at the chart in the Michelin manual, it will give you the exact pressure for each tire.
  23. Check with RVA in Escondido Ca. Dennis Kay is the owners name.
  24. There is a valve cleaning tool that looks like a tongue depressor only thiner and made of plastic, it has a rough surface on one side. I have also used hydrogen peroxide for cleaning my fresh water system, works very good.
