  1. Most if not all dollys have surge brakes. When I tow my Prius I have to use a dolly. I don't like surge brakes because if you are in the mountains they could be always on. I changed the surge actuator to a air over hydraulic master cylinder and it is actuated by the air brakes from the coach.
  2. You can insulate the underside with the appropriate material. Also sheet metal shields on the exhaust manifold and be fabricated. I have done several Class C's for customers in the past.
  3. Was on 101 in Washington yesterday and it was fine. Two lane and hilly and curves but nice country.
  4. As far a using the boost switch for starting goes on mine that is automatically done when the key is turned on. The solenoid that connects the two banks of batteries to charge while the engine is running is always on when the key is on. The switch in the dash is used only if the engine batteries are too low to start the engine and to low to energize the solenoid. This is the way the factory made it. As far as batteries used in new cars, its a matter of cost and not always the best. I would not select a battery just because a car mfg uses them. A lot of batteries are made in Mexico.
  5. I would use 2 group 31batteries for the engine and 4 or 6 golf cart batteries for the house.
  6. You have to weigh each corner and inflate according to the chart in the Michelin manual which will be less than the maximum on the side of the tire.
  7. Depending on the weight of your coach chances are that the pressure will be less than the 120 psi.
  8. Have the alternator tested for output to see if it is working and how many amps it puts out. On my 98 ISB it had a 160 Delco alternator which I burned up twice using 6 golf cart batteries so I went to the next size larger frame and had it built to 235 amp and its been working fine for 12 years.
  9. Xantrex has had gen auto start for at least 20 years. There are other mfg that have them too.
  10. The lowest setting on my thermostat is 120 degrees and I have mine set at 125 so that the ratio of hot to cold is less and I can take a longer shower.
  11. Check your thermostat on the tank if you are comfortable with 120v current. It may be opening the circuit before the water temp is up.
  12. The harness for the Road Relay has a male/female connector so the Scan Gauge plugs into the end.
  13. I'm using the Scan Gauge and the Cummins Road Relay 5.
  14. Try mlemonis@campingworld.com Marcus is the CEO.
  15. My driveway is flat so I don't have a problem at home but I do have casters mounted to the bottom of the receiver hitch that protects the low parts when I enter some driveways, such as fuel stations.
  16. I have been using HID bulbs for about 4 years but be aware that most of the conversion kits are not DOT approved so some cop could write you up. I think its rather a remote chance that someone would catch you.
  17. We just drove from AZ across to In through KS and then to WA in the last month and had good weather only one day of rain.
  18. I have driven with the gen running the ac and had no problems so I think using the heat pump would be the same.
  19. Hydrogen Peroxide works great in sanitizing and eliminating odors.
  20. I have a Prius which has rubber stems with senders. I use Tire Minder on it when I tow with the front on the dolly.
  21. Are you at 119 volts, the same instant when the coach is at 100 volts?
  22. If it is an Intelitec switching system the contacted washer may have a bad spot on it. They are repairable.
  23. On Tire Minder if you have aluminum stems you have to use transmitters with aluminum threads.
