Towing 2012 Ford Fusion SE
desertdeals69 replied to rojoco10's topic in Toads-Towed Behind Motorhome
If you have a tight budget I would let someone else be the early adopter and them do the testing to see if it will work. It may take a year or so but may save you lots of money. -
I would go with Roadmaster products as they are made in the US unlike the others.

Its ok to run propane on the road as well as the generator. There may be a restriction for the propane in a tunnel but that is rare.

You might check the fluid level. Does the motor change sound when jacks reach the ground?

In our shop we used to pull the transmission and then with a modified hoist we would snake it out where the trans was. It was pretty easy. -

If you have a Hummer it has a tow mode which disconnects the wheels at the hub so nothing turns but the wheels and hubs. -
Brake Requirements For Dinghy Towing 2009 Honda Fit
desertdeals69 replied to paullson's topic in Toads-Towed Behind Motorhome
Toad brakes are required in Canada. Every axle on the ground must have brakes, so if you have a tow dolly even the rear wheels of the toad needs to have brakes.- 2 replies

Check with Roadmaster for sway bars as they manufacture them in house. Also check with them for steering stabilizers.

What part of the transmission is it over. I would think with a little disassembly of different pieces you should be able to get it out. -
Dometic RM1350 4 Door Refrigerator Cooling Fans Very Loud
desertdeals69 replied to billybuk's topic in Systems and Appliances
If you can see the fan make sure there isn't a loose wire hitting the blade. -
Most roof airs will run on a 20 amp circuit. They draw about 18 amps to start and 14 amps to run. A 20 amp outlet and plug have one blade vertical and one horizontal. 15 amp has both blades vertical or parallel . 15 amp circuit might not start the compressor. This of course is assuming 108 minimum voltage.

The biggest problem with the turbo bearings is hot shut down. There was a company out there that makes an after shut down lube system for the turbo.

It sounds like there may be dead bodies hidden somewhere. Check with a cleaning company that deals with controlling odors from decaying bodies. -
2005 Ford Focus Toad
desertdeals69 replied to dadlarryfisher's topic in Toads-Towed Behind Motorhome
Like Brett says a manual transmission is a must and in my opinion any toad should have a manual transmission. As far a equipment is concerned check with Roadmaster, I prefer them because they make all their parts and assemble them in house not like some of the others that have parts manufactured offshore. Roadmaster also inspects their tow bars at major rallys free of charge. -
To go from a trailer to a motorhome will take some adjustment. A lot of it will be easier and less time consuming. We are currently traveling with friends that have a 5th wheel and it takes them about five times longer to set up and take down for travel as it does us.
