Primary Reason Transfer Switches & Solenoids Fail
desertdeals69 replied to dickandlois's topic in Electrical
I found that the wire connections give the most problems. Most use aluminum connectors and if you use Nyalox coating on the copper wire they will corrode and heat up and cause a bad connection. Its been about 10 to 1 wire failures over contact failures. It is a good idea to remove the load before any switching. -
It is a double pole quadruple throw, center spring loaded, off position. You don't want it to be stuck in the on position.

There may be a small metal can with 2 studs and wire attached to each one, this is a circuit breaker and it could be defective.

See my post on your other posting. Nothing has to be taken apart. I just had mine towed on Monday to a shop 55 miles away. -
ISB300 Cummins Diesel Stuttering And Losing Power
desertdeals69 replied to tom538's topic in Engines
Modern day towing involves a large trailer which the wheels slide forward and the back tilts to the ground and the MH is winched on. -
Usually they are mounted on a slide if there is not enough top clearance to lift them out. Using a battery strap carrier makes lifting easier.

I added 6 inches to my platform and put in a full queen memory foam mattress.

Adjusting Air Bag Pressures For Smoother Rides
desertdeals69 replied to gfarmcafe's topic in Chassis
Are your tires inflated to the correct pressure according to the chart? Changing the air pressure in the bag just changes the ride height. The ride height is controlled by the height valve and really doesn't have anything to do with pressure. On my front bags the correct height is 65 to 70 lbs air pressure in the bag. -
I bought 2 235/75 r 22.5 In Oregon last month for $378 plus fet about $13 and no sales tax. I mounted them at Thousand Trails Seaside.

It could be the voltage regulator. We have replaced quite a number of them in our Onan shop in the past. I even had to change one on my own Emerald.

There is not much in the front end to mount a tow bar connection to.

I believe it will require a tow dolly. I have a 07 Prius and I tow it on the dolly.

It may be overheating. What is the temperature of the fluid? Does it happen after a hard pull?

Thousand Trails parks will not accept US mail, thats why we use general delivery. They will accept Fedex and UPS.

I always assumed that all P O's had general delivery. I have used them for my ebay purchases, even the smallest towns, without a problem.

We always stay at the national park, just out of town.

Usually if you demand more out of your engine you shorten the life. Fuel mileage may increase some but that is usually from being more aware of how it is driven and not from the devise.

I would use 2/0 on the jumpers 3/0 on the parallel connectors and 4/0 on the long runs. Feed the positive off of one end and the negative off the opposite end. Use red and black heat shrink on the cables at the appropriate ends, makes it easier to identify polarity and reduces the corrosion factor.

Using Satellite Box From Home In The Camper
desertdeals69 replied to greygoose's topic in Electronics
How long is the cable run? Is the receiver the same model? You might try your cable on his receiver. I have seen defective new cables before. -
It sounds like the seam needs to be opened up and adhesive applied under the edge and re calked.

Have you tried your receiver at his location? There may be a cable problem. -
I got mine at a FMCA national convention.

Surge Brakes In Mountains?
desertdeals69 replied to BretWayne's topic in Toads-Towed Behind Motorhome
Just keep in mind that any time you modify anything you become legally responsible if something should go wrong. Increasing the spring pressure would increase the force needed to apply the brakes but would not be re-engineering the system.
