National Parks in Utah and Montana
desertdeals69 replied to smoltzie's question in Destinations/Attractions
Watchmans National park in Zion has electric and is close enough to the other parks for day trips. -
Parking Class A RV on Driveway Incline
desertdeals69 replied to davidsuzanne's topic in Type A motorhomes
If you lift the rear wheels off the ground your coach will not roll because there are no wheels on the jacks. If you are on a steep hill and you have wimpy jacks and they bend or break when the coach hits the ground it won't roll because the park brake is still on. The most it would move is about 24 inches. -
Parking Class A RV on Driveway Incline

It shouldn't make any difference. Your engine has an electric fuel pump. If there are no leaks in any fuel lines, it won't make a difference if the tank is higher or lower than the engine. -
It sounds like a poor design or miss application of the solenoid. I have Intelitec which is a switching relay that only draws current when switching. No heat ever.

There are quite a few Thousand Trails parks in Ca, Or, Wa. I like the ones on the ocean. There are 6 on the Or coast and Wa coast that are our favorites. We will be going there this summer and spend 2 to 3 weeks at each.

I think I would lay a moisture barrier down first, then spread gravel. I would jack up the axles and put blocks under them so the tires are not on the ground. Another alternative would be to move to Az and use you coach year round!!

RV/MH Hall of Honor Lifetime Membership
desertdeals69 replied to partsrod's topic in General Discussion
We just ordered the lifetime membership. Visited the museum 2 years ago and can't wait till we can return. Great place to see history of rving. -
Use Dicor self leveling caulk. They make a patch kit for that type of repair. Very easy to do.

If the voltage drops to 8 volts when trying to crank chances are its not the starter. It might be the starter solenoid or the connections at the solenoid. When cranking what is the voltage at the battery terminal? Be sure to check the ground circuit also.

Yes, there seems to be. Also I was towing a 1/2 ton Silverado, V6 5 speed. Unless extreme hills or headwind I have averaged between 10 and 11 mpg for the last 100,000 miles.

I have a 32 foot with an ISB and rear radiator. I extended the slobber tube. I would not trade for a side radiator because of the engine choice. I got 10.78 mpg going between Albuquerque and Las Vegas last October. With the larger engine and coach it would be in the 6.5 to 8 mpg range. Just my own preference.

That would be an ISC 1998 or newer.
-
What kind of pump and does it work ok without the water heater turned on?
-
Usually the rear radiator is on a smaller engine such as a Cummins ISB and the side readiator is on the larger ISC or bigger.

We prefer to change scenery so we invested in Thousand Trails system. This past year we have spent 109 nights in the system from coast to coast. You could stay in a Thousand Trails park for every night of the year, moving every 21 days.

They do work and we have installed several sets and never had bad feedback. They install on the studs before the wheel on the front and between the duals on the rear. They balance the rotating mass including the brake drum. If it is out of balance too far it won't work, you may have to rotate the wheel 180 degrees.

I would think the compressor is running because there is a temp difference of 10 degrees. If the compressor was not energized the air would be about the same going in as coming out.

Are you going to be able to get your deposit back? Hope so.

4 Wheels Down Or Tow Dolly
desertdeals69 replied to travelenman's topic in Toads-Towed Behind Motorhome
As far as the transmission is concerned when it is in neutral the gears still rotate and since the lubrication is done by the dip and splash method all the bearing surfaces are lubed. -
To Monitor or Not To Monitor: Tire Pressure Systems
desertdeals69 replied to andyshane's topic in Buying an RV
I use Tire Minder TPMS. I have been in the RV business for some 37 years and haven't found a nicer couple to do business with than Chuck and Debbie.- 6 replies

It maybe low on freon. Did you check the voltage while it was running?

All my test were done with a brand new bank of 6 golf cart batteries fully charged. I ran about 4 tests for each inverter. I don't know if the design of the compressor is bad or that particular one was defective. The Frigidaire was the right size to replace a Norcold 841 2 door. Since it wouldn't work I scrapped the changeover project to another day. My Norcold is about 3 years old having replaced the original one that was 18 years old.

4 Wheels Down Or Tow Dolly
desertdeals69 replied to travelenman's topic in Toads-Towed Behind Motorhome
The same way as towing 4 down. Either with air, diesel pusher or any other brake system for 4 wheel towing. The tow dolly will have its own brakes. -

Every axle on the road must have brakes in Canada.
