The sales brochure states "Allison® 3000 MH 6-speed electronic transmission w/2-stage engine compression brake". That is commonly referred-to as a Jake brake.

A problem my wife has with a GPS is not remembering to manually stop the trip when she gets to a shopping center. The mall's address is in one specific place, and if she doe not actually drive to that address, but rather just parks somewhere in the lot, the GPS hasn't completed the trip yet. One time she was quite late and I began to worry, she called me and said she was on some stone back road but, the GPS was taking her in a circle. Yep, she had started home because she remembered the main highway, but the GPS was trying to complete the trip and taking her back to the mall. I talked her through correcting the GPS and she finally got home about midnight. I tiptoed around the house next day to stay out of the line of fire.

I'm wondering if the breakaway system is working as designed? Just in case you want to double-check everything, here is the installation manual.

Yep, park doesn't work with the transfer case in neutral___. That's how I discovered my old '02 Dually 4x4 emergency/parking brake didn't work, dent is still in equipment shed.(and my ego)

Reference for "force majure": https://news.bloomberglaw.com/corporate-governance/insight-covid-19-force-majeure-and-impossibility-still-a-high-bar-to-win That doesn't sound like dealing with for $1,799.25, even though it might be a sound argument.

Did you copy down the model number, Bendix makes many different models. That $34.99 price for a reconditioned filter was low, finditparts.com has them for $85.

Having owned and driven a Chevy K3500, it is not a good vehicle to get around with in cities and popular visitor areas. I would suggest perusing the for sale forum here(and online magazine) for a better vehicle to flat-tow. IMO towing that 1T vehicle will kill your MH fuel mileage, and make climbing mountains a tedious event.

Which Flags to Fly (If Any)? -- July 4, 2020 Weekend
rayin replied to fagnaml's topic in General Discussion
Fly them all if you wish Mike, last I heard we still live in a free society. If anyone complains, tell them many good men and women gave their lives to protect your constitutional rights. Flag etiquette -
Well, mine does. When I'm in small rolling hills with CC switch on, every small descent triggers the exhaust brake; very annoying, which is why I leave it turned off until actually needed. A388666 needs to drive with the E-brake turned on until he learns by experience how his particular MH reacts.

Excessive water pressure/flow rate can cause "tunneling", which is a breakthrough of the charcoal media. It washes out charcoal fines and fails to properly filter water for that point forward. Heed the water pressure limit on the container/label. ALL charcoal water filters have a maximum flow rate and pressure.

That is why moving genset mounts(mine is air pressure) have a safety latch or pin. My Spartan manual cautions to always use the safety latch to avoid such incidents.

Learning by personal experience is vital before it really counts. There is a quirk about exhaust brakes you should know. The engine and transmission computer controls (ECM and TCM) will automatically protect the engine from over-revving damage, you have no input. When the ECM and TCM sense the engine RPM is too high(this is in your owners manual) the ECM will command the TCM to upshift the transmission the the next higher gear. At that point your only recourse is to slow your speed with your service brakes enough for the transmission to downshift when engine RPM's are low enough to prevent engine damage. The bottom line is; always begin your descent of steep grades slowly with exhaust brake on, using service brakes as necessary to maintain a safe speed and control engine RPM. I agree with the suggestion to drive with the exhaust brake on to get the feel of what it does and how it affects forward motion. Once that is learned you can leave it off until needed.

You will find your shocks here: https://www.shockwarehouse.com/?msclkid=63764616765d1f33c5aa18ec4a9879a8&utm_source=bing&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=CPCS%20--%20SEM%20Branded&utm_term=shock%20warehouse&utm_content=SEM%20Branded%20-%20EM They had Bilstein shocks in-stock for my 1999 Spartan chassis, and at a good price.

I get the hard copy and read it cover to cover within a few days, then store all of them. I do not read it on the internet, DW complains I spend waay to much time on the computer anyway. BTW, the FMCA magazine has been losing advertisers for some time now, the pandemic made it worse.

I agree, it can be a faulty solenoid losing hyd. pressure, air in system, or leaky hyd. cylinder on slide mechanism. I've also found that if I do not hold the retract button a few seconds after full retraction(motor sound changes) the slide can move. In fact that is stated in the HWH hyd. slide manual. Using a manual slide lock on a hyd. system can result in major damage when forgetting to remove it just once.

The California Custom Purple is a 2-part package, the deoxidizer is used first, no need to wipe off, then the purple aluminum polish. It beat Mothers hands down for final finish and ease of use, as I have tested several brands. In this video the guy uses small scraps of carpet to apply the polish.

Perhaps the Norcold 1200 service manual will still be helpful.

I'm glad you are cool again and hope it continues for a long-long time.

I just created a new topic, edit button is displayed there. EDIT: Now here too; thanks Joe! -
Monday my order for California Custom Purple aluminum cleaner/polish arrived. The video had convinced me it was worth $29 to give it a try on my dull, corroded rims. I did a few spots today to judge ease of use and it it lived up to the claims. I am well-pleased with the result, it did as shown in the video, The ease of use is amazing to me, Sure wish I could get back all the money I've spent on metal polishes in the past. This stuff works great, without much effort whatsoever. The top portion of the outer band(with holes) took me 10 minutes:
