  1. Richard, I have Not seen one to date and they are used with he bigger QD diesel. Nice Concept, but one would want the generator on a slide out. HQD 8/10 and 12/18 sized generators. Rich.
  2. Wayne, The Def in the Tank is affected. By temps over 77 degs. and degrades over time per the original post. Rich.
  3. Looking through some files and refreshing the gray matter and came across this file . A totally different animal because this generator was built with a inverter/charger and transfer switch built into generator. The engine size and generator are built almost the same as any of the QD series, but with the items mentioned on line one. The other major difference is the error code list and it is total different then all the other QD series. https://powersuite.cummins.com/PS5/PS5Content/SiteContent/en/Binary_Asset/pdf/Consumer/specsheets/a-1502.pdf Rich.
  4. Can not remember seeing a chart and information on how long DEF will remain viable related to time and temperature so this link might help answer that question. The general information reminds users to store it out of sun light, below 77deg. and in a closed container; an to clean up any areas pron to evaporation and crystal formation. https://www.fcsdchemicalsandlubricants.com/main/additionalinfo/DEF Shelf Life and Fluid Quality.pdf Rich.
  5. Rather New Coach to be having serious AC Issues. Did the Mobile Tech write up what was tested and some numbers on what the AC Manifold pressure reading where? Was The Tech a business rep. or independent? Did the Tech check the system voltage? Freightliner Factory service center is in Gaffney S.C. _ Might offer that they are the best around ! Rich. Could be nothing more then a fuse

    NO Start

The starter was removed and bench checked as good. New battery installed along with battery cables. Alternator test checked good. Checked all fuses I could find and all good. Checked engine fuse box for power and good. Looking for suggestions as to what I may have missed. I am now lost for a solution. Are you saying the engine is not turning over or Not starting? Is there fuel in the tank? And Does the fuel pump run ? Low oil pressure will keep the engine from running by shutting down the fuel pump. Rich.
  7. blakleyfamily Good Pictures! I can lift the control part numbers and look at the power gear manual I think matches your setup. By chance can you get a good picture of the control panel you have install - there should be some numbers on it. Good thing is I do have some of the OEM manuals on file and will see how close they might come to your system. A starting point and some of the boards are replaceable from venders, but first will need to have you check some things. Are you able to test things with a meter? Rich.
  8. I have been trying to get an installation manual, no luck yet. No real info regarding a manual, but this item showed up https://www.rvupgradestore.com/AutoTrix-Step-Cover-Module-p/615116744603.htm It is a replacement for electric controller. So now I need to ask if the problem is electric or mechanical. Rich.
  9. What is the Voltage reading of the engine alternator when the engine is reading? The Coach and chassis batteries both charge when the coach is connected to shore power or the generator is running - if I'm reading things correctly. Also when was the last time the alternator belt was serviced? I Have Driven many miles with the generator powering the inverter /charger to supply the required 12 volts to keep the chassis system powered. The alternator sometimes becomes a pulley so the water pumps keeps things cool. Rich.
  10. I did find this information that might help. Not sure of using it on the roof ? https://www.cranecomposites.com/pdf/65000.pdf The real issue might be how much water damage was done before you have a good handle on what the project might require. Rich.
  11. jkhac, Welcome to the FMCA Forum! You should check the fuel lift pump pressure and flow rate. There is a screen in the pump and with bad fuel and age the pump could be under performing. Others asked if you have any Error Codes, but you did not mention any. Does the Engine Start up quickly? Pump Pressure runs around 10 to 15 PSI at idle. Rich
  12. Engine year before 2003 or after 2004? CAPS System or HPCR System? Rich
  13. Richard, That Looks like what I expected to see on the first go around. Please Note!that I have been derailed some for health reasons and did not see you reply to my posting of the original information request. Starting on a mending curve for now - with some other issues to be addressed later. The thing is life never seams to loose any of its share of challenges. Rich.
  14. Welcome to the FMCA Forum ! The First item needed is the total Amp Hrs. of you coach batteries, most common number is 4 - 6 volts connected in to 2 sets of 12 volts - that are charged at a charging current equal to the total AH rating of the battery bank. Then the members can offer some help full information. Rich.
  15. Welcome to the FMCA Forum! Need to start by gathering more information on the coach and topper. Make, Model and Year of the Coach, also any information on the topper. Like who made the roller / topper, maybe even the model number - roller diameter and a picture of the roller end cap. any info. on cap ID. The devil is in the details! Rich.
  16. Richard, The RMS Reading on sine wave compared to Square Wave running at the same frequency will be lower. The voltage / power is available only when the wave form is on and only carried on a system in the enclosed area of the waveform. One can shape a wave form with numerous designs in the filters and circuits . One can build Frequency shift or pulse width style power circuits. The Wave forms will never equal each others true power factors because of the clipped signal form relative to an analog wave form. Rich.
  17. John, Welcome to the Forum! The older Throttle control wiring system had a high and idle wire circuit. It could be an issue right at the connection on the peddle or some thing just stuck or dirt holding the peddle at an increased idle. Rich.
  18. DonCo, Welcome to the FMCA Forum ! Totally agree with most of what you are offering. The big issue between MSW and Pure Sine wave signals is there affect on old line frequency clocks and a number of the new computer controlled appliances, an a number of items others consider essential life enhancing technologies. We are tethered to 60 cycle. There are other systems that do work very well, but there are a number of items that create a high neutral current load because of the K factor. The transition from vacuum tubes was one of the greatest revolutions because of total efficiency, size and frequency spectrum's. Rich.
  19. Nice information Bill! Not much help for the old guy with no smart phone and limited feeling in the finger tips due to thick callouses, injuries and medical treatments an a limited number of them with good tactical feedback. Rich.
  20. SR. Welcome to the Forum.. I changed out the momentary switch for my LP indicator and now nothing works. So can't see tank levels , LP level and battery charge levels. The wiring information on these units is weak to none. So working on them can require time laying on you back with a meter and note pad, plus a camera if one is handy! The fact that only the LP Level did not work and now everything is DEAD sounds like an open ground or loss of power( could have shorted out the 12 volt supply or you lost the 12 volt or ground connection. The display power for these displays is often an inline style fuse. that taps into a common 12 volt coach supply, because they work with the ignition switch off. I have worked on them, but it is a tight spot to work and often it is best to remove the front drivers side set to get to things. This can turn into a time consuming and detailed process.SO pulling pushing on the harness energetically is not advised. Work methodically . Rich. The LP system was the only not working before - so start in that area to look for the current problem.
  21. Dale. With more information on your Atwood leveling system. Like Model numbers or better yet some detailed numbers or just some pictures of the owners manual, might have some info on file that will cover how your system is setup and a description of the intended operation sequence. Always hope that ILC will have some info on there assets file drives. Rich.
  22. Winger, I have some Generac Diesel manuals in stock, but if you can offer the generator model information and if you are comfortable working on this kind of equipment. I well forward one that is correct or at least close to the wiring. Rich.
  23. Ray, The Base program is always intact as you mentioned. Learning the drivers is always a necessity. One needs to also drive the required distance to check and set any error coders that can turn up. Things tend to popup after units set. Not knowing the state where the unit is registered and their requirements is the only reason I mentioned the ECM set millage required. Rich.
  24. There are no dumb questions on this Forum ! If the power is removed from the Engine ECM, the engine will need to be run for around 100 miles before all the correct data for proper operation is reset and this will be required each time the chassis battery is removed or disconnected. Rich.
  25. Ray, A good grade of grease makes a super lubricant. No oil to leak out and a good surface contact will keep the grease inside the gearbox. Should there be a crack or gap at any points between the 2 sections a traced out gasket will work well to seal things up. Should ether half of the gearbox be creaked / one can use Argon Co-2 gas Mig and fix the damage (works well up to 1/8 in.thickness) if it is a good Aluminium casting. The broken pin looks like common rolled split pin. Should be able to remove with the correct size center pin. Also, a good time to check for any run out ware on the primary gear center pin /axle or the casting bore. Rich.
