Yes I am. Born and Raised in TEXAS. That being said while in the service I had the pleasure of spending several winters in Newfoundland. We had to spent 9 days in the Hanger because The snow was close to four feet deep and we couldn't get back to the barracks. (Talk about needing a shower.) So if I had a choose to spend the Summer and Winter someplace it would be, Summer in Ruidoso, New Mexico and Winter right here at home in Whitewright Texas. Both wonderful places. Of course Rockport, Texas would not be to bad either for the winter. Herman

Most slide switches are double pole, double throw, momentary. They must be held in while moving the slides in or out. But I am sure you know that. Hope you get your issue solved soon. When you do it may be something simple and hopefully inexpensive. Herman

I just replaced both of my filters yesterday. The DW and I were at Wally World and I happened to notice a Clearance table. There on the table was a 2 pack of sediment filters marked down to $1.00. Swooped them right up. We later went to Lowe's and found the charcoal cartridges for $16.00 for 2. They also had the sediment 2 pack filters for $11.00. "I Feel Good". Herman

Tom, If you have room you might consider keeping 1 or 2 of the old tire as spares while on the trip to Alaska. You never know if there might or might not be a tire your size at a location when you need one. Have a great trip and let us know how it was. Herman

There are certain sizes that are only made once a year due to demand. Others are made on a continuous basis. Though many MHs have 295-80R 22.5 size it is not one of the more popular sizes. Just what I remember what my brother-in-law (30 years at Goodrich) told me. But he has lied to me before. You will make the most of what you sell the most of. Herman

Bikeryder, I had an issue with our slide one time. Talked with the tech at HWH and he guided me to the valve body of the unit. He told me which valve worked the front slide. At that time the front slide would go out but would not retract. (turned out to be wiring issue). He instructed me to unscrew the bypass screw. I did and the slide came in. He then told me to close it to have the slide would go out the next time. What started the problem was the hatch switch I mentioned before. When I was checking everything I had removed the toggle switch. I had screwed up the connections when I reassembled the switch. Corrected the wiring and I was amassed, the slide went out and it went in and I didn't have to crawl under the front of the coach to open and close the valve. Good luck with your issue, Herman

MT, Does it by some chance only howl when there is a full moon? Sorry about that. Can you determine if it is in the unit or in the duct work? You should have several zones and each has it own valve and pump. I would start with those. Check each with a probe while the unit is howling. Herman

I would look at the latches first. Bad or loose latches won't hold the drawers or doors shut. Replacing what you have with a good strong latch would solve your problem. In a cabinet where you might be concerned about item shifting and falling against the doors you might consider putting in spring loaded curtain rods across the opening to keep items from moving. Also you might consider putting down some rubberized shelf type paper the will keep items from sliding. However if you would like to keep double cabinet door secured you could just make a "U" shaped hook the would just drop over the two knobs to keep them from popping open. Or you might stay off those Louisiana road ways. CC, you will be finding sauce in place you never thought of for years to come. I hope it didn't stain anything. Herman

Keon, You mentioned finding parts for an older unit. When thinking of parts for a motor home we aren't talking about Ford or Chevrolet. So many of their parts are brand pacific. With a Motor Home you have an assembly of different components from so many different manufacturers. About the only thing that is brand pacific is the Chassis. There are Norcold or Dometic and they are in a majority of coaches. the same goes with Levelers, generators, lights, microwaves, and the list goes on and on. Take my coach for example, a 2002 Monaco Dynasty. The head lights are from a 1994 BMW. the tail lights are from a Ford pickup. My point is, don't be afraid of parts. Find the floor plan the DW likes and you will be miles ahead. Good luck in your search. Herman

Some folks put their slides out then level. I prefer to level then put out the slides and then check the level again. I guess it's to each his own way. Herman

Most of the time I assess how the coach is sitting . My system doesn't level as well as I would like on automatic, so I will do it manually. I have a bubble level I set on the floor and adjust from there. But yes sometimes I will dump first then raise as needed. Herman

George, Welcome to the Forum. Drive it for awhile keeping an eye on it. Dip sticks in RVs are not that accurate. The two quarts may have been over filled and it just blew out. If it continues to drop check for a leek or blow by. Herman

Eddie, By some chance did you have a bay door open. Monaco has an over ride switch that will not let a slide operate if the door under it is open. Don't ask me how I know this. Herman

Glen, Welcome to the Forum. I towed a 2008 extended cab 2 wheel drive Silverado about 15k mile. I had a drive shaft disconnect in stalled by Drive Shaft King in Dallas Texas. Worked fine till we traded the truck. Herman

Aka, A friend of mine had his TCM go out on him. Butch found a gentleman in Lewisville Texas that works from his home. He is certified by Allison. He reworked the ECM and it now works like a charm. Butch's coach is a 1995 Foretravel. If it would help I can get his name and number. Herman

It was great and we found a hardware store that was unbelievable. Spent over an hour in it. Could have stayed longer but had to get back to Moscow. Herman
