Coaches may be weighed at many Area and National Rallies. To me the only problem with that is having to wait till after the rally is over then get in line while folks are trying to leave. I understand the problem with moving a coach out and then back into your spot. What would be nice if the company could come to your site and all you would have to do was move forward then back. But I also know how heavy the scales are. I wish there was a better solution because it is a great service done by great folks. Herman

Debora, Your welcome. However as Brett said there are several factors that come in to play. Ambient temperature which side is exposed to the sun, and so on. If tires on the same side are close to the same temperature you should be OK. On the inside dual the temperature might be slightly higher just because of less sir flow. That is Ok. So you should be OK just keep your cool. Herman

Paper charts and dividers, NAVY? You also might be telling you age. Herman

I purchased an Infer Red Temperature Gun that I keep at the front door. When ever we stop, I do a walk around and check each hub and tire. If all are in the same range then I feel OK. I do this on both the coach and the toad. At the same time I will check the tow bar, had a problem once and don't want to have one again. Herman

Bill, On FMCA's program there is a price list that is used. The only thing the installing dealer get is the cost of mounting and balance. You pay for that directly to them. By then you have already paid Michelin for the tires. If there is any compensation between Michelin and the dealer that is between them. I started the process with the program but decided to go with the Goodyear G-670s. I had no problems with them and just decided to stay with them. There was a cost savings between the Goodyear's and the Michelin Program price. Herman

Many years ago when I was in the Navy we went TDA to Newfoundland. Most of the time I was there for 3 months. At that time you were allowed the equal to 128 ounces duty free every 6 weeks. When a crew would rotate back to Pax River there would be enough booze onboard to serve a US Senate meeting for at least 5 minutes. Herman

Barkley, They aren't the only ones. Quote from REV service center in Alvarado to repair slide hydraulic hose "mim. of 16 hours @ $ 140.00 per hour plus parts. While on the road got an appointment with HWH in Moscow Iowa. Took less than 2 hours and they repaired the hose, adjusted the levelers and put on a new cover on my auto level pad. $281.00. Needless to say I was ecstatic. Brent the technician and Ashley could not have been nicer. Kudos to HWH. Herman -

Mounted RV Satellite Dish Replacement System
hermanmullins replied to Shelbyvision's topic in Electronics
Bill, I had a Winegard Road Trac that had to be replaced because of the signal changes by Dish. Winegard gave us a sweet deal on the SD 1000 Traveler. Did this so we could use a Dish 722 receiver. If Shelby has Direct will a dome provide him with HD? Herman- 28 replies

Dover, Welcome to the Forum. Taking I-80 or I-70 East of Denver are both without mountains. Which to take depends on your destanation and how fast do you want to get there. Are you a member of FMCA? Herman

HayesFamily, Pulling a hill is not too different in either a Gasser or DP. It is all in how you approach them. I have owned both and when ever I am coming to a hill just as I am getting to where the incline begins I step on the accelerator. I do this to build up the torque. I can then maintain my speed. However when in mountains it is a different story. Then I will down shift and try to maintain as much torque as I can. I also stay in the right hand lane because I know I am going to slow down. People in cars seem for some reason get upset if they are hindered in any way by a MH or truck. But heck I was the same when younger and didn't drive a MH. You will get lots of advise on how to drive your coach.Listen to all and decide on which of them are the best for you. Remember it is you behind the wheel and not us. You will do well. Now go and buy that MH and start making memories that will last a life time for you and your family. Herman

Rodger, I have tried to stay out of your replies. What you fail to understand the FMCA Forum is a constructive site not a destructive site. If you disagree, just state what you believe to be to be correct . This is not the place to argue. From now on stay on the topic and voice a constructive response or leave the site like you said you were going to do. Thank you for listening. Herman

Had it replaced in Perry the last time FMCA was there. RV Glass Solutions did the replacement. Had issue with local shop. Called RV Glass and talked with Sally. She jumped right on it and called me back in less than an hour. She said they would ship a windshield to a local shop. Told her we would be in Perry. She said they could replace it there and that they were giving a $150.00 gift card so my deductible would only cost me $100.00. Sounded good to me. When we arrived in Perry I saw their truck an the second windshield in had our name on it. I went to their booth told them where we were parked. I noticed cards on the table giving a show discount of $75.00. Asked if I got that to. Yep, and now the windshield ($2,800.00) only cost me twenty five bucks. An by the way they did a great job!! All was good in Perry. Herman

I had to have our one piece windshield on our Dynasty replaced because of a rock thrown up by a truck going the opposite direction. I just drove into it while it was in the air. There is no defense from rocks and such on the roads. Herman

Towing a 2014 Jeep Cherokee
hermanmullins replied to VChapman's topic in Toads-Towed Behind Motorhome
For me I never and I mean never believe what a car salesperson says. Their only objective it to sell you a car no matter what it takes. Have you ever seen a car salesperson tell a 400 lb. person, I'm sorry but this Kia is too small for you? Now don't get me wrong, I am sure there are some good ones out there but are few and far between. Sorry, just grouchy today. Herman -
Expandable curtain rod for the refrigerator. Baskets and trays or bottles and such. A tool box for things to make repairs on the road. Kneeling pads in the water or power bays. As said before stackable milk crates for storage bays. Plus a long hook if you don't have sliding trays. After all that said, you will rearrange things several times before you get what you like. And as the Knight said to Indiana Jones, "Choose Wisely My Son". Herman

Keon, Several thing to look at in a pre-owned coach. Worn interior but low mileage. This may have been a vehicle that was used only to go south in the winter and north in the summer. Driven there and back twice a year. High mileage and predestine interior. Used mainly for transportation to and from and not much living. This is just a guide line I use when looking at a pre-owned unit. (Haven't done so in a long time, just enjoying life while spending our kids inheritance) Herman

First you get a Lawyer to write up the partition, have to notarized then go to your county courthouse and file for a name change. You should have the papers back in a short time unless your county clerk is against such changes and then you will need to go to the media for results. Or you could just email the Admin and ask him. I was told in the past that if I wanted to have a color monitor I would have to change both the Camera (which I understand) and the cable, Did you use the same cable as was used with your black and white unit? Herman
