Brad, If it is a weld, it is not cosmetic. Welds are for strength Take your coach to a welder and see if they can TIG (aka Heli Arc) weld the break. You may have to replace the weather striping afterword. Also might I suggest getting friends with better hearing and better memories. Herman

John, The only safe way to solve a cracked frame is to reinforce the area around the crack. I would scab a plate over the area and bolt the plate on both sides of the crack. DO NOT Weld on a chassis. Every weld will create a heat effected area and the weld material will be stronger then the base metal. Look at any large truck frame and you will see labels every where stating "Do Not Weld". jbrooks357, Try www.rockauto.com. You might also check with your local auto salvage yards. Most salvage yards have nation wide search on their computers. Since you have checked with your Ford Dealer you should have or can get the part number which is very helpful with any search. Also if you have the P/N then google "Ford Shift Cable P/N********". You might be surprised by the response. Herman

Dorothy, If you have selected your route for your trip, go to http://www.rvparkreviews.com/. Check the state you will be going through and the cities or towns along the way. Then look in the review for parks in areas you might want to stay. Your trip sounds like a hoot, would like to spend time in New England myself. Herman

As Brett said, Welcome to the Forum. Freightliner, should not be responsible for the alignment on their chassis. They provide the chassis but have no control over what the Manufacturer puts on it. There are so many variables applied to the chassis. Fleetwood is the one that should have balanced the tires and aligned the front end before delivery to the dealer. But a coach that the tire wore out in just 17,000 miles should have been a very poorly handling vehicle. Tires out of balance that bad should have been really felt in the steering wheel and wandered all over the road. Tires should be in the neighborhood of $1,500, alignment $300.00 and balancing $100.00 (maybe free with the purchase of the tires), a total of less then $2,000.00 (not $4,000.00). However I would also have the back 4 tires balance when you replace the two front tires. Sorry for your problems, Good Luck Herman

Dave, On our 2002 Dynasty the Breaker Panel is in the Bedroom in the Cabinet above the window on the passengers side. Also a call to Monaco will get an answer quickly. Be sure and have your coach number when you call. Herman

ksteingrube, You wont be dissatisfied with the G670s. Also have your dealer ask Good Year if they have a rebate program in effect. On my last tires I got a $50.00 per tire from Good Year. It never hurts to ask. Herman

Just finished inspecting my G670 Goodyear's. Fronts (2612) and they were in great shape with approx. 15,000 miles. Rears are (0908) and look great also. I inspected the side walls and between the treads. Not a crack one. However since they are 7 years old I will inspect them regularly. When I purchased the drive tires they had gone up $180.00 per tire from the rears. When I need to replace them again I will check with the FMCA Michelin Tire Program. I do receive great pricing from a friend that his family has been in the tire business in McKinney, Texas for over 50 years and is now with the forth generation working there. Herman

ottfamily, Welcome to the forum. The first thing I would do is weight everything, including the coach. add them all up to see what your gross weight would be. Then check the Gross Weight Rating on you coach. Even if you are within the limits, all of those thing might be a real strain on a 34 foot gas coach. As for brakes on the Jeep, Yes. In Colorado anything being towed that is over 3,000 lbs. is required to have auxiliary brakes. Also be sure you receiver hitch is rated for the weight and you have a tow bar also rated for the weight. Be sure that your tow bar in within 2 inches, plus or minus, of level, and your tow vehicle is wired with lights. Good luck and again Welcome. Herman -
ranchmink, There have to be people out there that hate meeting you going down the highway on a bright sunny day. The glare off that beautiful coach must be really bright. You should be proud of the work you have done. It would be a nice unit to display at a national rally. Herman

kengrace, Welcome to the Forum. Even if a certain model is discontinued or the company goes out of business, parts will still be available. Fleetwood, though they manufacture/ assemble a coach doesn't mean they make every part. They will install engines from Ford, GM, Cummins and so forth. The transmission from Allison, the axle from several companies. The motor home Mfg. may make the body aka shell, but the others will still be in business and have parts you can still acquire. Find a coach that has most of what you like, that has been well cared for and is in a price range you can handle. So let your conscience be your guide. Herman -
Wayne, For things like gaskets you can purchase thin rubber from several places. I use a place in Dallas, Texas Rubber Products. They have a area where they sell drops from production jobs. It can be 1/16' by 2" by 30' or something like that. I just go in find what I think will work and pay a very reasonable price. There may a place like that near you, Houston isn't it? Herman

drakegirl, Bad switch, loose wire, faulty ground. Had same problem on my 98 Monaco and found the ground wire connector was loose, squeezed the connector a bit and problem was solved. Herman
