  1. Jan & Dave, Welcome to the Forum. For safety sake don't list your phone number on this or any web site. Folks will answer your questions here and I can assure you will receive several. It is best to ask folks to PM you (personal message). If you would like to send a message to someone move your cursor over their name and a box will appear then click on send a message. It will be like a personal email. Have fun on your trip and again welcome to the Forum If you haven't joined FMCA please do so, you will never regret that you did. Herman
  2. Sounds like a singing group from the 70s & 80s. "Huffypuff and Tuffy" Herman
  3. cmarq, Go to the Forums here and look in Coach modifications. There are a number of post with regards to changing carpet and tile to laminate and hardwood flooring. If I remember there are one or two that had pictures and/or videos. Hope this helps. Herman
  4. Flashing head lights = good to pull back in. Flashing Clearance Markers "Thanks" Flashing Middle Finger, Now that's a complete other matter. Herman
  5. Carl, Up here in North Texas we call a Super Mouse a Rat and in Louisiana they call them Nutrias'. Herman
  6. Just to think, when someone said they had to REBOOT, it use to mean that he was going to Cavinders for a new pair of Justins. (Thanks Larry that is some good information) Herman
  7. cmarq, I know you would like to provide all the material yourself. However if you have a RV dealer or flooring company do the complete job, then you have something to fall back on if something is done wrong. If you just have someone do the labor only, then you don't have a leg to stand on if something goes wrong. Lots of us like to DIY but there are something best left to the professionals. Hope you find someone that can help you. Herman
  8. Bill, Welcome to the FMCA and the Forum. The INTO Rally at Shreveport will have Shows Coaches, three nights of entertainment, vendors, and three day of Seminars. All motor homes are parked on asphalt. The Six-State Rally Association held a Rally last October in Shreveport. INTO Rally will have 30 amp electric [50 amp is sold out]. There will be water at each site and many will have sewer. That being said, as when going to any Rally come with empty holding tanks and Full water, extra long water hose and sewer hose and electrical extension cords with adapters. There will be vendors and possibly Show coaches. They will have several seminars covering an array of topics. International [iNTO] should have a good rally. Now a side plug for Six-State Rally association. We are having our Rally this year in Conroe, Texas, October 7 through the 10th. We will have 50 to 60 Vendors, Show coaches and Seminars. We are planning on having a Chili Cook Off. The Rally will be held at the Lone Star Conference Center and the Montgomery County Fair Grounds. To check on upcoming Area Rallies go the home page for FMCA click on Chapters & Area Rallies. If I may help you in any way please PM [Personal Message] me. Again Welcome to FMCA and the Forum. Herman Mullins Six-State Rally Association Southern Region VP.
  9. "YOU WANT HONEST ANSWERS, YOU CAN'T HANDLE HONEST ANSWERS" [sorry, I couldn't help myself.] There are so many variables in MPG that you have to consider. In most autos people will turn off their engines when they stop for a short time but most diesel folks leave the engine running. How long does it take to build up your air pressure? Are you in the Colorado mountains or in Death Valley. Into the wind, cross wind or wind pushing you. That being said by my Trip Tec I will average 6.8 to 7.2 mpg on a trip. And when I check miles driven and fuel used I will do about the same. Herman
  10. Michael, do you have a pilot light or igniter? You may have a bad thermocouple. Momma is correct, there might be cold, rain, mud and or all three. Dang this is Texas. Herman
  11. Bill, Welcome to the Forum. Taking Interstate 20 east or west. Take exit 16/ Jewella St. Turn North to the first street on your right (Fair Ground). It is just before Walgreens. Follow it around past the Football stadium to the Baseball Field. There you should see the staging area for the Rally. You might contact FMCA and ask if the packets have been sent out yet. Go and enjoy, it is a fun place to be. Herman
  12. Deen, Is there a possibility the previous owner may have put in one of those power chips? And as Carl said if I was going to put out $29K to repair, I would go for a completely new engine. At least then you would have the warranty of a new engine, which I believe is 5yaer of 50,000 miles (which ever come first). Herman
  13. JDNAN, Welcome to the Forum. Goggle RV Salvage. You may be able to find a salvage yard close to you. On that I know of is in Cartridge, MO. named Colaws RV Salvage. Look them up and give them a call. Herman
  14. jlie, As dd69 says, check out Colaws just East of Carthage, MO. You may also goggle RV Salvage and maybe find one close to you. Herman
  15. This is the Smart Wheel on My coach. On buttons on the Left, the top triangle is my ICC Switch. This will control the flashing of my Head Lights. If my head lights are on it will turn them off if I press the button and stay off as long as I hold it down. If the head lights are off it will turn them on and stay on as long as I hold the button down. On the buttons on the Right, The top triangle is my clearance/marker light Switch. This will control the flashing of my Clearance/marker lights. and will control them the same as the ICC does for the Head Lights. My Smart Wheel is manufactured by Vehicle Improvement Products, Inc. The above definition came from my owners manual for my Monaco Dynasty. I am not sure how a unit without a smart wheel operates. Herman Pardon me if this doesn't work out it is my first post with a picture.
  16. beford, If I had a slow shower drain I might try plunger to see if there might a slight blockage that might be dislodged by the plunger. I may be wrong but most RV sinks and showers have a flapper type of vent on each one and a vent for the tank. One for Gray and one for Holding. The flapper type of vent will be placed above the "P" tarp and has a small rubber flag the will open when waste go down the drain and close when done. If the flapper was bad it would most likely allow some sewer smell into the coach. I would not try to use a drain cleaner, however you might try the plunger. You may just have some hair buildup that can be move by the plunger or even a small auger snake. On the plus side your feet will get really clean by standing in the soapy water. Herman
  17. Kay, having brakes on a tow vehicle is a smart thing and a requirement in most states. Folks will go for a dolly rather then a drive shaft disconnect on their two wheel drive, or a transmission pump or disconnects for their front wheel drive vehicles. Brakes on the tow vehicle would eliminate the need for a braking system on a dolly. My thinking is I would rather have brakes on the last set of wheels on the ground rather then just on the dolly. Any way we are getting away from the OP. pacurran, Welcome to the Forum and you will get your answer soon. Herman
  18. Rich & Wayne, We have the advantage of having learned to drive when you were taught how to drive a vehicle and not to wait for another command to tell us what to do. There are no devices attached to any vehicle that can in the blink of an eye tell you what to do in case of a blow out or what to do when you hit the brakes and there are none. Thank you Coach Johnson for teaching me how to drive a standard shift, no power steering or brakes 1951 Chevrolet 4 door sedan. Very ole, Herman
  19. Gary, coaches that come with air leveling don not come with jacks unless they were added or requested ($$) when the unit was first purchased or ordered. Our coach was ordered with air leveling but no jacks. Sorry Herman
  20. Puff, Almost. The ICC will turn off the head lights if they are on and turn them on if they are off. You are correct on the turn signal. if pulled to you they will turn on the high beams as long as you keep pulling towards the wheel and back to low when released. However when the Head Lights are off and you pull the turn signal towards the wheel the head lights will come on. So with the lights off the ICC switch or dimmer handle will flash your head lights. With the lights on the ICC will flash the lights off. Herman
  21. Jack, Your ICC switch is located on the left side of your Smart Wheel in the triangle with the head lite picture. When your head lights are on and you press the Switch/Button your lights will go out and stay out as long as you hold down on the switch/button. However when your lights ar off and you press the switch/button your head lights will come on and stay on as long as you hold the switch/button down. On the right sid of your Smart Wheel in the triangle is your Marker Lamp Flasher. It will preform the same task as tha ICC switch/button except with the clearance lights. ICC for acknowledging the vehicle passing you has enough clearance to return into your lane. MLF is to say Thank You. Hope this helps Herman
  22. Good point Wayne. I have a sure fired way to keep your tow vehicle clean. Wash and wax it, put it in the garage, put a cover over it and leave it home. Your tow vehicle is just like one of your kids. If it is raining it and they are going to get dirty. But at least with a kid they can be put in the tub. Herman
  23. Bill, years ago there was a picture of John Wayne on his very large boat. He had a sign posted at one of his hatches, "This baot is a very large hole in the water into which large amounts of money are poured". I am sure he had as much fun on his boat as we have in our coaches no matter what we name it. I for one will name a child and a pet which I never plan on getting rid of. I will not name a car, truck, boat or motor home, I can sell any of those. Just me. Herman
  24. Great to hear you found what fit your requirements. Let everone know where you found it so they might do the same. Herman
