Ditched my Towing and Roadside Assistance
hermanmullins replied to hayesfamily's topic in Roadside Assistance
I have only had to be towed 1 time. However we were fortunate enough to be home at the time. Coachnet, who we had at that time, (different story), was very helpful and got a very good wrecker that did a great job. The tow cost 5 times as l had in total premiums. Herman -
I have seen several with the wall behind and beside the drivers chair and thought that looks nice. But I then thought that they would be very hard to get out of. You just confirmed my thought. If you are like me ,I swivel my chair to side to make getting up easier. Keep looking you'll find it. Herman

Yea, you should see Bobbie with a chart board on her lap with her dividers, ruler and compass. A sight to behold. Herman -
I was able to maneuver on to a Furniture Dolly. I built it up to the height if the opening and was able to pull it out on the dolly. But the son-of-gun was still HEAVY. Herman

Ditched my Towing and Roadside Assistance
hermanmullins replied to hayesfamily's topic in Roadside Assistance
I use my Garmin religiously, to know my exact Speed, To insure I am on the right road, to know what the next exit on the Interstate is and most of all when Bobbie see's a Garage Sale and I get way back in an unfamiliar neighborhood I can see the roads to get out on. (Happens quite often) When I want to see where or how to get some where I will use a state map or Rand McNally Atlas. Herman -

Rear compartment of a 2018 Winnebage Aspect 30J
hermanmullins replied to rj_winger's topic in Type C Motorhomes
You should have no problem with the items you mentioned. If it were me, I would lay down some carpet, with two sided tape, to cover the entire floor so the stuff won't slide around. Herman -
Wayne, What I could not find was the weight. I had to move mine out to work on it and then put it back in. That son of a gun is heavy and I mean heavy. It would take two strong men to take it out of the coach and put it back in. I just had to pull it out on the floor not out of the coach. Herman

Rear compartment of a 2018 Winnebage Aspect 30J
hermanmullins replied to rj_winger's topic in Type C Motorhomes
RJ, Welcome to the Forum. We need a bit more information on the dog pen. How much does it weigh? Will it fit in the Compartment? What is the Compartment make of, Wood or Molded Plastic? Is there any cross support under the compartment? What else do you plan on carrying in the compartment? As you can see there are many factors in you question. Herman -
I know it has only been 4 day since the OP but he hasn't responded to any of the suggestions or questions. I wonder if he found a solution or Not. Just wondering???? Herman

Mailman, I took off a Winegard dome and put a Winegard Dish Traveler 1000. No weight difference to speak of and the installation was very simple. This was one time I followed instructions and had no hiccups. I do have 2 TVs and they are both HD. Herman

Ivy, Might I suggest locating an RV Salvage yard. There your should be able to find most anything you need for your wipers. As Carl will tell you when ever I am anywhere near Carthage, MO. I will check out Colaws RV Salvage (Exit 22 on I-44) for any thing I need. I have saved several thousand of dollars by going there. Herman

Question about how to Flat Tow a 2018 Equinox Premier?
hermanmullins replied to r5154's topic in Toads-Towed Behind Motorhome
R5154, Welcome to the Forum. I am not familiar with the Equinox but some where in the Forum I seem to remember something about the light staying on for several minutes. If you will go to the search box located in the upper right side of this page and type in "Equinox", you will find all the post on your Equinox and hopefully find your answer. Good luck and again Welcome Herman -
When we are in the really hot time of the year, we cool with the dash air. We then put up our curtain that goes behind the drivers and passengers seat. Then we turn on the generator and the front A/C and close all but the front vent. That keep us reasonably comfortable, well as comfortable as you you can get driving a fish bowl west in 100% + weather. (I figure it is about 1 gallon per hour running both A/Cs) Herman

J Have you checked to see if your compressor clutch engaging? Herman

Ed, There can be snow in that area in March. Been there in March and the roads were closed in Flagstaff. Herman

Unless the management has changed I would think more then twice before staying there. Was one of the worst parks I have ever stayed in. Sorry for the rant. Herman

There was a device at Harbor Freight to hold a large tire. it was hydraulic and had rollers so you coud position the tire to remove and replace the tire. I plan on looking at both since I would like to have a look at my brakes. Never done it on a 22.5 wheel. (Ray, my DW says the same thing but she appreciates it when I have saved mucho denaro.) I am 82 and have no intention of slowing down. Herman

Carl is correct on Buck Horn and Miller Creek. Miller Creek has a fair share of Snow Birds so you might want to call ahead to see if they have a spot. Miller Creek RV Park---- 830-868-2655 Buckhorn Lake Resort----830-895-0007 Herman
