  1. I for one would request/require a. Change back to the bowl type as it is in your favor seeing if moisture is accumulating where it should and could be drained.
  2. This drive is one of Colorado’s better, but even better would be to take 160 over to Delores and take the Delores river Road, 145 north over Lizard Head Pass. It looks like a Sawtooth from the spectacular Sawtooth mountains of Idaho. Take a little jog into Telluride and then back to 145 past Placerville and the old placer mines. There is an overlook of the river and the flume that delivered water to the mines at a million gallons a day with little to show for the effort. On to Naturita and Hwy 141 through Gateway and a special resort now for sale in the millions, car museum and all on the way to Grand Junction. This hwy is unique in geology. You start out at river level, and watch the river fall well below you then back to river level. The 1000 foot canyon walls climb high above you and squeeze you till they are barely 200 yards wide and the surrounding farms envelope you. Leaving this area you begin the drop into Grand Junction, believe me this is far more spectacular than 550 and one of Colorado’s best kept secrets! Going from south to north, the traffic all flows from the north so it is smooth sailing in your lane. Hope this helps, yes I have taken numerous Colorado guests over this route with a Class A pushers.
  3. I always have 2 primary 30 micron fuel filters in the coach spare parts box. I have had to use them twice in ten years. I would second all the suggestions made to establish your own baseline for future maintenance and peace of mind.
  4. How many people actually do that. I suspect many since there is not a convenient open “vented” space to carry it.
  5. Why in the world would they have a two compartment tank??

    RVA jacks

Again, Visit Brazel’s RV in GrantsPass Oregon for parts as the are now apparently owners of RVA and have a wide variety of componentry with more coming
  7. Brazels RV is/has taken the lead on RVA components located in Oregon. Many components are now again available
  8. He was/is Master CAT trouble shooter, super guy living the dream giving back...great!
  9. The supplier for RV glass on the West Coast is “Coach Glass” whole sale only. Have your glass company call for pricing and availability 800 714 7171.
  10. Joe, when I did mine I also eliminated the nut and Ferrell connections and used DOT push-to-connect fittings.I also added the air restrictor valves from Source Engineering in Eugene Oregon which changed the ride substantially. The lean was dramatically reduced. All in all numerous leaks disappeared.
  11. FYI KONI a far better shock than the mono tube, gas Bilstein. Koni is a hydraulic. Some are purportedly hydraulic and gas. They are a double acting/dampening both directions and 88 series adjustable. Best purchase location is shockwarehouse.com. Until you have tried KONI you do not know. There is always someone out there that has a different opinion. Safari forums all support this manufacturer as the coach responds particulArly well to Koni. Yes both coaches I have, have them one 88 series and the other FDS smart shocks. I love the FDS on the 1999 C12 powered Panther. The FDS are a bit more money and are not adjustable. The adjustability part is typically done on initial set up. Safarians typically set them up full stiff...no it is not a hard ride just better dampening over rough roads. Brett Wolf and Ralph Andrews spent a great deal of time working with Koni shocks to improve the ride in SMC coaches. Ralph has since passed and Brett is out there playing hard.😀
  12. Ok guys, here it is tried-- earlier but did not post. First is hydraulic over hydraulic for the service brakes. Park Brake is Air actuated there are no hydraulics to to it. Two types drum and disc you need to discover which it is or this is going to be a long dissertation. Clarksgocamping Feel free to call and I will share the details 303 807 7975 I have a 2001 Z and a 1999 Panther with the same stuff you have, been there and done that. Yes it should adjust as it is used Brett is correct...it is unique And most of what has been speculation. No parking or brakes on the rear calipers. It is all disc front and rear, hydraulic over hydraulic. Disc is problematic drum pretty straight forward. Either is located on the drive shaft drum and disc are large! Foot pedal does not come into play, manually set with pictured yellow knob.
  13. I replaced mine on a 1999 Panther 8 inch. I took one off and took as suggested to truck supply house 190 something apiece 4 day wait. German made and work just fine, less than the original Goodyears. Changed the front 4 rears are OEM and fine.
  14. Interesting read to say the least.
  15. I would agree it is now harder to make changes at Direct now that ATT has them.
  16. Richard thanks for posting the scope B
  17. I hardly ever make reservations unless I know it will be busy, holiday so forth. I live west of the Mississippi River so plenty of places to dry camp. If I am in an area like Florida, I go with the toad for a look. Many sights will take a longer coach just fine and the coach becomes the length needed. Never had a problem and has fit every time.
  18. Replace both batteries if 12 volt or it will happen again...better yet replace with 6 volters you will have more usable amp hours and longer battery life. OIf you can find them use Crown 260s or Trojan 105s. 12V volt deep cycle marines are compromise but maybe that does not matter...
  19. SMC Safari coaches came with them standard equipment. Great tier for the money. That said be sure to check the speed rating L or better. L=75 MPH J=65 a no go check production dates all tires no older than 6 months
  20. It was just a sales pitch, virtually worthless.
  21. I live in Colorado, and grew up in Medford Oregon. My choice of routes always led me to 50 if I had the time and that was dozens of times between 1976 and the present day. I have had Porsches, Audis and the coach across it. East to west is the friendliest if in a coach. Be sure your brakes are in good working order. West to east offers greater climbing opportunities. The sights are wonderful, the roads intersecting the Interstate 80 north of 50, are all spectacular, scenic byways and all different from one another. Be sure you fuel tank is full as prices are high and sometimes far apart, 100+ miles. Yes it is a two lane all the way across the majority of Utah and Nevada. There is a very good reason it is called the "Loneliest Road". . Enjoy!
  22. I too think 8 hours is a bit stiff. I took my washer out and it took me an hour and a half including removal of the control face to get it through the bedroom door and replace it before shoving it out a window.
  23. Yes Welcome, Great looking coach, I have not seen one of them before. Great pictures too. We were just in North Georgia a couple weeks ago, up by Road Atlanta, Helen and Cleveland. My goodness pretty country. B
  24. Wanted to leave Colorado today for Arizona and 70 degree weather, but instead will leave Wednesday after the snow falls tonight and tomorrow morning...coach is nearly ready to roll. It is in the 50s as far North as Raton, New Mexico. Last year we went over Raton Pass in 3 inches of slush and 20 degrees. It is the last pass out of Colorado into New Mexico.
